Funnily enough, I actually got Pikmin on Christmas Day, I had never played Pikmin 1,2, or 3. But had decided that would be a nice gift to have, I have to admit it is a cool game and is enjoyable since I didn’t expect so much in this game. Especially the varying types of Pikmin(so far my favorite is ice Pikmin since it stops enemies from ending all my Pikmin). I do hope Nintendo continues making Pikmin since I think this a game many people can enjoy.

I’ve supported the series since pikmin 2 wii version came out. It’s been wonderful to see it grow so much. The wait for pikmin 4 was soul crushing back in 2019.

all we got in the past decade is sideman appearances in bad mario sports games, an overpriced remake of a gba game where DK's the villain, a port that just adds an easy mode, a "DK" that acts absolutely nothing like DK in an illumination movie about *Mario*, and featurings in random non-DK games
DK isn't even a DK character anymore, he's a Mario character
At least we're getting a theme park which is pretty sick
Not to mention the random leaks about new DK games like the infamous Pyoro leak that was actually about Mario VS DK, the Odyssey team leak that's been circulating for multiple years and still hasn't happened, feels like we're pigs being strung around by a carrot on a stick before it gets yanked away before our very eyes.

Thank you so much! Pikmin 3 was the game that got me into the franchise. I still fondly remember those times where I would spend hours just exploring the scenery and fighting enemies when I was but a wee little lad. Great game with great memories!
The roblox game Pik-min wip brought me into the community. When I saw it in a video, I was immediately interested in it's colorful and charming appearance. Not long after, I found out about the release of Pikmin 4, and I instantly ordered it. After playing a few minutes of the game (not including the tutorial and the ID badge creator) I had a few faint memories about me discovering the franchise as a child. I had a blast playing through all the games. Now I'm a certified fan!
I can Recall that one of my friends asked me what all of that Pikmin fuzz was about lol
The quality of this video is wonderful, I have always loved the pikmin series as one of if not basically the first Game I ever played, and it's always stuck with me since. I'm glad that the franchise hasn't been forgotten and is finally getting more content ( not counting hey pikmin or that one mobile game )
Thank you, man! My first experience with pikmin was pikmin 3 when I had gotten a Wii U. It's was such an awesome game up until I got stuck at the Twilight River. My little brain couldn't figure out how to get past it, so I abandoned the game and only beat the entire game with pikmin 3 deluxe a year ago.
@@pristinebean I played pikmin 1 and 2 on the wii and we bought the wii U because f pikmin 3 lol, I got the the last cave of pikmin 2 but then got stuck lol, the Wii remotes are very glitchy now with age and sound like an aceint artifact being touched by the sun for the first time so Im going to try to get the switch versions lol

Pikmin is so important to me. I played the first two games on Gamecube when I was a child and it was always one of those things that I enjoyed by myself. Not exactly a bad thing, but it was always something that other people were completely uninterested in. It brings me so much joy that people are giving all 4 main Pikmin games a chance and they're loving it just as much as I always did. 2023 was truly the year of Pikmin.

As someone who is a long-time pikmin fan who grew up playing the first game (wii motion plus edition) with a friend, i was mind-blown of how internet enthusiasts could advertise the fourth mainline game at new york's times square, and some gaming archivist on the internet + many other long-time fans helped outcasters to buy the game (I am from Denmark btw, only about 10.000 in copenhagen whould check it out in stores) but hey pikmin is not really "nerdy" compared to franchises expireinced by under a million
I got Pikmin 1+2 HD for Christmas. So, playing through Pikmin 1 now and it is rather fun. My first time trying the franchise

i’ve been in the r/pikmin discord server (the zoo) for a while, and i will say that memes are definitely very foundational and influential to the community, and somehow even in drought the community is strong
And now we are all begging for dlc because nintendo is milking pikmin for ads

Bro I was 3 when I frost played Pikmin I started with Pikmin 3 and I sucked at it my dad needed to help me throw them and after 5 years I beat all games and knew there were going to be no more Pikmin games so I left after 3 years I came back and wanted Pikmin 4 so bad 3 days before my birthday Pikmin 4 was announced my sister said it was coming out and there was a trailer I got mad at her and called her a lie we also used to laugh at fake Pikmin 4 game trailers then I looked it up and I found it I never cried so hard in my life and I beat Pikmin 4 3 times in the first month god I love Pikmin to see it get the love it deserves is so nice
dude, I totally get you. I used to watch pikmin 4 spoof trailers in the hopes that one day it would finally become real. So when it was finally announced, my mind was literally blown, and I genuinely started to tear up.

My first pikmin game was 3 Deluxe. I got it on release but couldn’t beat the final boss so I gave up. But then later in 2023 when Pikmin 4 was announced and all that stuff I decided to replay it. Fast forward to now I have all pikmin games on my switch and have beaten all but 2 so far.

Pikmin is literally my favourite game saga, I don't know why people don't play it. (Obviously people that have nintendo consoles or directly people that play ROMS).

Honestly its no surprise how Pikmin sniped a game award. I’ve always wanted to try a pikmin game but I never had a system for it and I didn’t want to try hey pikmin because of the horrid reception it got. I’ve played the Pik 3 deluxe demo but I was broke at the time. One day when i had money for it I decided to play 4 and it was the best financial decision I’ve made in a while. Its unique, fun and silly and definitely a breath of fresh air from sweaty multiplayer games and the grind of Anomaly Level 300 in MHRSB

While that may be true for the existing Pikmin fans, That wouldn't exactly apply to the people who had no idea what pikmin was, and ended up buying pikmin 4 because of all the publicity it was getting online (through the memes spreading around and the overall hype).

There’s also another important part of Pikmin’s popularity surge on a similar topic. During the Reddit protest basically every relevant Nintendo related subreddit went on lockdown as part of a platform-wide protest against removal of useful mod tools. One of the only relevant Nintendo subs that didn’t go on lockdown was r/Pikmin because:
1. It was funny as hell
and 2. Because it was mostly to take the piss out of how horribly 90% of the subs on lockdown were handling their protest. Most of them straight up announced that they would only protest for 1 or 2 days as if that was going to do ANYTHING. Because of this the member count of r/Pikmin shot up drastically from all the silly pikmin memes that were getting shoved into their homepage because all the other Nintendo subreddits people would normally see were on temporary shutdown, making tons of people become quickly introduced to the series who would’ve normally never touched it. Including me.
Conveniently, this all happened within the same few days as when Nintendo released Pikmin 1 and 2 on switch and started really pushing advertising so now all of these people who were seeing nothing but Pikmin posts on Reddit daily were now seeing it outside of Reddit and now had an easy way of getting into the series from the start. Not to mention the first Pikmin Times Square appearance was started by an r/Pikmin user who announced they’d be putting a Bulbmin on there a day or two before it went up, which picked up a lot of traction before it was even on there in the first place encouraging even more people to do it.
That Barminheimer Twitter post also got a whole lot of people asking about Pikmin as well, so that also happened conveniently with Pikmin 4 coming out at the same time as two big movies. Same with another Twitter post that encouraged everyone to change their pfp to Olimar on as many websites as possible.
So basically I would’ve never gotten into the Pikmin series if it wasn’t for an awful Reddit protest because I had never played one beforehand and now I’ve 100% all of them (except Hey Pikmin. Might pick it up sometime who knows)
I’d like to imagine Pikmin series is just so awesome that everyone around the world went to go get involved in it as soon as possible but honestly a lot of stars aligned here. Really glad they did though.
