How and when do you do your research and volunteer work? Before USMLE or after?
Hey man, I got 270 on my step-2 while passing step-1 on my first attempt, got 250 in step-3. I have practiced medicine for 1-year in my home country. I have also done 4 electives. What are the shots of matching into neurosurgery residency (forgot to mention I have also done research work 2 months of research work, I know it isn’t alot but it is something).

What do i do other than scores if i want dermatology? Also i heard ppl get into family medicine then do sub fellowship in derma , is that possible? How ?
@@yourlast-qn9em volunteer, research, publications, build relationships with dermatologists so you can have a mentor in the space.
Can I match into plastic surgery without electives cuz I can’t afford them? Can I do observerships and 3 years of research instead or that’s a weak point 😢
Without electives it’s highly unlikely
In the U.S market...25% are IMG residents and practicing physicians...
