I have been watching a lot of videos on medical education in India and abroad especially in Russia CIS countries China Philippines and Nepal and issues with FMGE and now the changes being made and entry and exit exams being made mandatory .... the trouble is everybody wants to be a doctor so a lot of ppl in fray for the medical seats .... it is more competitive and this is killing the doctors and would be doctors both .... and the cost of education is expensive and not worth the study ..... one can live peaceful contented life by doing what is possible and earn a living and save the money required for a medical degree and put it it to better use .... this way the person will be a happy person than after becoming doctor .... THIS IS THE FIRST THING ..... the second thing is the medical system - (a)....it has to be affordable - paying 250 lakhs usd in USA is cheaper than paying one crore for a medical degree in India ..... (b).... long courses are useless and a breakdown is necessary like two years or at most three years where a degree is awarded and has employ ability in medical field in hospitals etc .... ............. break is possible .... in US they do a grad degree first - this is helpful ..... in India it is direct medical college and nearly 6 years if no break - this is long time and bad for student .... break it into CLASSROOM and LAB WORK/STUDY and PRACTICAL CLINICAL STUDY .... let students be well versed in theory before they can go for practicals .... this way society will get better doctors and there will be less strain now some personal info ..... I interacted with a senior govt officer in Health ministry India and he told me (1)....that India needs a lot many doctors and many many more nurses and para medical staff .... and in late 1970s during the janta party regime a diploma in medicine on the lines of diploma in medicine was started and implemented in Maharashtra .... the result was that the decision was reversed after Congress came to power in 1980 and all diploma students were given admission in MBBS course - and at that time increasing medical seats in medical colleges was a big debate and a lot of corruption involved in that but the doctors pressed so hard for it fearing that if this is not done then MBBS doctors will starve in competition in markets of medical treatment .... (2)....China had a bare foot doctor scheme much earlier ..... ..(.3)... In India the medical system employs a large of teachers and faculty than students ... in Caribbean islands the medical schools have more students than faculty - and applying the same ratio in India we could produce 5 times more doctors which means 5 times medical seats .... a win win situation for all .... (4).... education and medical treatment cost should be low and affordable - dental treatment and hair transplant cost in Turkey is very affordable and many ppl from India also go there for treatment ..... (5).... doctors in India are against lower medical degrees like diploma and feel that doctors will not be able to earn livelihood if there is competition from such practitioners already they complain about ayurvedic docs and RMPs etc .... they have said that MBBS itself is a diploma a lower level degree in meetings with govt ...... but when it comes to creating more medical colleges politics comes into play and a demand is being created so that the medical education cost is high and most of medical colleges are run by politicians who are big beneficiaries .... and the medical bodies find this embarrassing and have ganged up in a big way and do not relax faculty requirements and seeking employment for large number of doctors in medical colleges .... (6) doctors in medical colleges are paid allowances like non practising allowances due to restrictions (same as in govt service etc) this increases the cost medical education on salaries head - so counter this many subjects have been shortlisted specific courses started in AIIMS and other institutes where they produce non-medical faculty to teach medical subjects like say Pharmacology to cite one example..... payment of non-practice allowance is not a good practice and should be abolished and the employer has right to restrict this but doctors feel salaries are very low compared to practising doctors etc and insist on this - a strong union will not allow this ....this increases cost of medical edu - relevant to mention that pvt medical colleges dont pay such allowances and allow them to practice now a days ..... (7) In view of the govt official - the current govt is doing a good job by introducing entry and exit exams for all and this will decrease the medical edu costs and increase standard of doctors being produced in the country ..... the cost of medical education in Russia China etc is much cheaper and costs in the country will also come down to thqt level in say 20 years .... .................. last and most important thing the officer said is that govt hospitals provide good treatment and free of cost and if citizens supplement this with pvt org with a little money then best treatment can be made available in India and new doctors are quite ethical about this though they tend to get sensitive about status and izzat etc .... in coming times we hope things will improve .... all comments views welcome
pls also read .... there is also a requirement of medical infrastructure involved leading to corruption by govt and politicians in giving accreditation recognition to medical colleges and regular inspections by medical bodies etc - not necessary unless for clinical study .... but the classroom and clinical study both are linked in India - this must be segregated
U can make video to study in America for psychiatrist and psychologist who completed mbbs in India and vice versa pls 🙏 form the 1st step from 10 class in India and show the best collages in California

it is more competitive and this is killing the doctors and would be doctors both .... and the cost of education is expensive and not worth the study ..... one can live peaceful contented life by doing what is possible and earn a living and save the money required for a medical degree and put it it to better use .... this way the person will be a happy person than after becoming doctor .... THIS IS THE FIRST THING
..... the second thing is the medical system - (a)....it has to be affordable - paying 250 lakhs usd in USA is cheaper than paying one crore for a medical degree in India .....
(b).... long courses are useless and a breakdown is necessary like two years or at most three years where a degree is awarded and has employ ability in medical field in hospitals etc ....
............. break is possible .... in US they do a grad degree first - this is helpful ..... in India it is direct medical college and nearly 6 years if no break - this is long time and bad for student .... break it into CLASSROOM and LAB WORK/STUDY and PRACTICAL CLINICAL STUDY .... let students be well versed in theory before they can go for practicals .... this way society will get better doctors and there will be less strain
now some personal info ..... I interacted with a senior govt officer in Health ministry India and he told me
(1)....that India needs a lot many doctors and many many more nurses and para medical staff .... and in late 1970s during the janta party regime a diploma in medicine on the lines of diploma in medicine was started and implemented in Maharashtra .... the result was that the decision was reversed after Congress came to power in 1980 and all diploma students were given admission in MBBS course - and at that time increasing medical seats in medical colleges was a big debate and a lot of corruption involved in that but the doctors pressed so hard for it fearing that if this is not done then MBBS doctors will starve in competition in markets of medical treatment ....
(7) In view of the govt official - the current govt is doing a good job by introducing entry and exit exams for all and this will decrease the medical edu costs and increase standard of doctors being produced in the country ..... the cost of medical education in Russia China etc is much cheaper and costs in the country will also come down to thqt level in say 20 years ....
.................. last and most important thing the officer said is that govt hospitals provide good treatment and free of cost and if citizens supplement this with pvt org with a little money then best treatment can be made available in India and new doctors are quite ethical about this though they tend to get sensitive about status and izzat etc .... in coming times we hope things will improve .... all comments views welcome
correction ....diploma in medicine on the lines of diploma in engg and concept of Junior Engineer post in govt
pls also read .... there is also a requirement of medical infrastructure involved leading to corruption by govt and politicians in giving accreditation recognition to medical colleges and regular inspections by medical bodies etc - not necessary unless for clinical study .... but the classroom and clinical study both are linked in India - this must be segregated
