Even in the movies, and it's something that's EXTREMELY common in 80's-90'smech anime, it really sucks when you have to put away a show just because of photosensitive epilepsy... especially a lot of brilliant mech shows and movies just because a director thought it was a cool choice.

When he makes TV shows, they're goofy and non-serious. See Patlabor TV and urusei yatsura for examples. When he makes movies, they're deadly serious and as artistic as possible. Very strange.
