Why the Griffon was IMPORTANT to Patlabor On Television!

Every time i rewatch Patlabor i notice new details, like on the island Noa is equipped with a SPAS-12 in the cockpit holster but at thecend she runs out with an wood stock 870
I personally really liked the Phantom arc as it acts as a precursor to the Griffin. I don't think it would have been as effective if they didnt have the Phantom to ferment the shifting tone to a more serious plotline
Its also pretty cool that the last time Bud uses the jet booster isnt to run away but to charge further into the fight, meaning he's finally committed and wont run away anymore
