Thanks Barbara, I'm just about to film the pinks in the next few days but I'm waiting on some of the plants to flower nicely 😊 And, what a great idea to group the ones that don't need staking - I will work on that, thank you 😁
I absolutely love this video and appreciate all the time, descriptions and names on the screen! So very helpful as I can take a picture and reference for future purchases 😁 And most of all I love your enthusiasm and pure joy when talking dahlias ❤❤❤❤ Looking forward to seeing the rest of your amazing blooms in future videos 😊
I would love to see more of your deep reds and pinks please. Loved todays video. My favourite was Daisy Duke. So pleased I found this channel. Thank you.
Awesome! White flowers are my fave. I've tried to grow white dahlias from tubers and from seed and have managed to fail. Just pre-ordered a collarette type of white dahlia, Cherubino. Will have to look into Karma Martin Zwaan - it's stunning. I don't have full sun garden beds so the plants aren't going to have as many flowers as in your garden, but I'll take what I can get. Am looking forward to seeing comparisons of your other dahlias, any colors are fine.
That's brilliant news Laurie. I'm so glad you like white dahlias too. They can be hard to combine with the brighter dahlias but I think they add a spark to the borders but can also be quite restful. Thanks for watching and for your lovely comments. 😊🌸
Beautiful dahlias. It has made me feel I need more whites amongst my dahlias to make them 'pop'. I only have one white dahlia. Thanks for haring. Happy gardening 🙂
Thanks Be. Yes, White dahlias are a little odd at this time of year and can be hard to place when the garden has so much colour but I find they look wonderful with greens, pinks and purples. 😊
Hi Annette 👋. I had no idea no idea that you planted that many dahlias!!! They are so gorgeous. I have a goal to plant more white flowers next year. I have only had 1 bloom so far and it was white. However, it is almost 90 degrees for weeks on end without rain. I am so tired or watering but I am trying to save some flowers. I'll just watch your garden bloom 😂 I do love my cool colored flowers but white is so elegant!
Thanks Lisa. White is elegant but I find that I enjoy it more in the spring and then by the summer I need other colours in the garden, but white certainly plays a part in setting-off the other flowers with a great contrast. 🌸
Blyton Everest is on the list now thank you! Id love to see the orangey ones. Or yellow. I bought some black eyed susan because there wasnt any yellow and somehow we ended up with 6 Izzara dahlias. I had 1 last year and devided into 3 this spring. Now we have 6???? So thats weird. You should do a dahlia secret santa. Anyone who wants to joins and we send a mystery tuber to whomever we draw. Just a mystery tuber in a box ready for opening in spring 😮 Love the channel Annette thank you for sharing.
Hi Adam, I've just finished editing the warmer toned dahlia video - hopefully it will be up on my channel by the end of today. Thanks so much for your lovely comments - and great idea about a secret Santa - not sure how others will feel about sharing their address though. I'll give it some thought though, because I love fun ideas like that 😁
Thanks, I think there are even more than this...I only have a small selection but I wanted to compare them and figure out which ones look good in a garden setting 😁
Hi there, I'm just uploading a warm-toned dahlia video right now and it should be live in about an hour. It covers the apricots, peaches and yellows. Purple is next...! Thanks for the suggestions 😊
Annette another great video, extremely helpful and informative. I love the idea of having a video for the different colours. I would especially like the hot colours, reds, oranges and yellows if you have them. But I enjoy every video, thank you again for sharing Juliana x
I met Imelda Staunton in 2005 when they were fiming My family and other animals. She took me to the other actors like Mathew Good and told them that I was corresponding with Prince Philip. Such a lovely lady!! Then I met and spoke to James Cosmo in 2015 when they were filming The Durrells and I spoke toAlexi Georgouli with whom I fell madly in love but please don't tell him. I met Jeremy Swift too and some other British actors but I found them awfully aloof. Your dahlias are just a dream. I wish I had a garden like yours but in Greece.
@cottoverdi If you want to listen to this beautiful nostalgic son : Now that I have met you: Tora pou se gnorisa, sung by Nikos Gounaris. You can sing it to your husband. I sing I to my beautiful 16month old blonde grandson. Listen to his voice very carefully.
Love the white ball dahlias. Would love a best for cutting video! E.g strong stems, upright blooms, vase life etc. your small world does look peculiar - maybe virus or something? Mine is very strong, has a slight blush tone and is much taller
Thanks Cat. Best for cutting is great idea but I'm not sure I'm the best to help with vase life because I've never tested for this. Others have also said my Small World is odd - I will definitely be replacing it - this one can go on the compost 🤣
@@cottoverdi oh fair enough! What about all the other criteria with a no vase life test disclaimer?? 😂 sounds good re throwing the small world out ! I would probably bin it over compost just in case it’s carrying something nasty 😷 you just never know with dahlias these days unfortunately
Thank you so much. I buy my tubers from various different suppliers each year because they all stock different varieties. Farmer Gracy have a good selection but you don’t always get what you order (!) and Rose Cottage is also good. I tried Dahlia Beach for the first time this year and the packaging was dreadful so not sure I’d recommend them for a large order. I buy my cuttings from Halls of Heddon who are brilliant. Hope this helps. 😊
My 'Small World' looks different. It is white with tiny pink-purple spots. It's sturdy and blooms absolutely prolific! So maybe order a new one and try again?
Hi there, yes, all mine are from tubers because I like to know the varieties and colours before I plant them so that I can place them where they will coordinate with the other colours in my borders. 😁
I will certainly try to do this, thank you for the suggestion. I they continue to disappear too quickly, please use the pause button. I hope this helps and thanks for watching. 😊🌸
Oh, all colours please! I love them all!
I will certainly try! 😊
Would love to see some pinks! And ones that do not need to be staked.
Thanks Barbara, I'm just about to film the pinks in the next few days but I'm waiting on some of the plants to flower nicely 😊 And, what a great idea to group the ones that don't need staking - I will work on that, thank you 😁
So very useful to see the differences of white dahlias..thank you...your videos are always so pleasant and informative!
My pleasure 😊 Thanks Pete. I'm really glad you found it useful 😁
The dahlias are outstandingly beautiful. So so pretty ♥️
Thank you so much 😊
❤ these videos- the comparisons really help me budget my Dahlia funds😊
Brilliant - I'm so happy that you find them helful 🌸😁
So helpful to see these both in the flower beds and side by side! Thanks for all your awesome videos!
Glad you like them Karen thank you. ☺️
I would love to see all of them close up!!!
Ok, I will definitely try to do that 😁

the white dahlias look wonderful all together Would love to see your favourites The garden looks absolutely beautiful
Thanks so much. I hope that I can film my favourites before we get a frost - it has suddenly become so cold!
I would love to see more of your deep reds and pinks please. Loved todays video. My favourite was Daisy Duke.
So pleased I found this channel. Thank you.
ok, thanks for letting me know what you'd like to see, I really do appreciate it. I don't have many deep reds but I have sooo many pinks! 😁🌸

My favorite white dahlia is: myama fubuki. Sturdy, medium size and more than stunning!

the dahlia register has - 65,000 recorded flowers 😅

Hi Daisy, thanks for the nudge. I do think I need to try again with a new tuber. 😃
Loved seeing all the whites! 🕊💟I've only tried dahlias from seed. Did you plant all these from tubers?

Hi Anette, do you leave your dahlias in the ground over winter? Or will you be digging them up and storing them?
Hi Kim, we always dig our dahlias. With our heavy clay soil and wet weather, they just rot if we leave them in. 😏
💖🌸🌸 Have you ever grown Petra's Wedding ?
Ooh, no I haven't! Thank you for the suggestion 😊
