Second might be Noordwijks Glorie. I have it... Looks like it
The name of the very first dahlia u asked about looks like glory of noordwijk the orange one 😊
OMG!!! You are absolutely right!!! Thank you so much. You just made my day 😍😂
I'm addicted to Dahlias as well. But I have to come up with a better system for ID'ing. Last year was my 1st year and I was so organized. I bought paint sticks and stapled tags to the paint sticks. Staked each one. This year....I planted in another area that was not my garden and although I started great ID'ing, towards the end I just wanted them in the ground and it was getting super hot outside. So next year, I must do a better job cataloging them and having photos as well of each. Love all of your varieties. I'm growing in another field next year since I don't have the space and my dahlia addiction is growing :) When do you pull yours? We had our 1st frost this week (southwest suburbs of Chicago) and I flagged all of mine this week. If I didn't know the name, I just used the color flagging tape. I'm thinking I'll have to pull them in the next week or two. I did try different methods to store them last year ..plastic, peat, & aspen bedding. And the best method for me was the plastic or peat. I did start a few early to sell and I even did cuttings that did very well. I could busy year round just growing dahlias honestly. You have to be passionate to grow these beauties. Thanks for naming all your beautiful dahlias. Of course, I'll be adding more ;)
The little red velvet flower at 26:14 could be La Recoleta!
ohhhh it actually really could be! thank you!
Hi there...just a quick note about brix, the higher the brix number, the lower the pest pressure. High brix equals a healther plant. There is a type of molasses that plants can be sprayed with to raise the brix number. Micro flower farm and Jennie Love both share some info about this. You have beautiful dahlias.
Ahhh thank you! I was switched around I guess lol
I know it’s super late but that second bloom looks like baarn bounty and that would make sense with your alphabetized rows.
If the small dark was a mix up with a box store I vote it’s Arabian night.... it’s a great one and a common one (because it’s amazing)
I wonder if the dark one in the Genova mix is Black Satin.
I get such a😂out of your videos sometimes, keep up the great work step by step.
If your not going to keep honey bees yourself you should talk to a local beekeeper about placing a hive or two, a lot of 2 way benefits.
We are thinking maybe next spring get a couple boxes!
All you winter people are weird 😅I agree!! Your dahlias are beautiful 😍
Enjoyed seeing all the varities you grew! Im about to plant my new ones here in nz (i just grow cut flowers mostly for my roadside stall, and some wedding work) i have sylvia/maarn but not the pink sylvia, after seeing yours i think i need to get a hold of that one! I have Chrichton honey to and its one of my top fav colours, so pretty
Even at the end of the season, they are still magical! ❤
Lovecthis video. I would use the Carnival at the end as the flower to build a bouquet around. With the pinks and maroon blooms at the beginning and middle ofcthis video. IMHO.
Sounds like you're keeping them all😂
Thank you i really enjoyed watching your dahlia video. Thanks for the variety names. Wow they are beautiful❤
Hi Kim i love your videos and what you do , i love your flowers i was wondering do you sale the seeds or tubers Dalia at end of the yr? i would love to have same in my garden i live in Chicago not far from you i manage to have 3 colors only, they are so beautiful just like you and your family
I haven't sold tubers yet but I will possibly have the stock to sell next season!
Oh i had it all so beatiful but i got a frost and then a hard freeze also so now it is fastly moving into winter here the higs in the 40 and lows in the 20 in the end of the 10 day😢.
What zone are you? I'm in zone 5B (southwest suburbs of Chicago). Soon they'll all be done :(
Ac ben
I really like watching you and all you grew. My question is will you ever start saving your seeds not only on your veggies but your flower's to. I believe you could sell a lot of seeds. Other homesteaders do so you should think about it. I would buy some from you! Think about it. Its kinda to late for this year but there's more gardening to come. Have a great day!
I do save seeds! I’ve actually saved more seed this year than ever before and that feels exciting. Maybe I’ll start up an Etsy shop 🤷🏼♀️
Awesome to see all the varieties. How long have you been collecting? Would love to see how you dig up and propagate tubers. 👍
just a couple for years! I will be posting more dahlia content as I dig them up ☺️
Very informative video. Thank you.
Good morning! Fellow Hoosier here and am loving your channel! Out of curiosity, why aren’t you selling flowers next year?
I am definitely selling flowers! Just not venturing out into selling tubers yet! ☺️
Ohhh!! Ha! I was like whaaaat!!?
@@honeytrailfarm I'm sure like me, she wants to make sure she ID's them correctly. :)
How did you get so knowledgeable on all these different things?
It looks like my Gloria Van Noordwijk.
maybe you should make your own jars.
Could you show the flowers more?
Its a flower.
the last of the truly free Americans. you just do not know what a great great life you are living. more power to you.
I'm becoming a big fan of your channel. Your flowers are beautiful.
you are the best. keep it up. tell that guy in your videos to smile.
They will last longer if you put them in a base and leave them outside on a table or shelf outside your window. Lasts for days because of cooler nights. I found this out because I don’t bring them inside due to the bugs and the frogs and everything else that climbs out of them. 😂
