This Is What Happens When You Spare No Expense On A Ducati Streetfighter V4 S

  • In case you were wondering what a $40,000 Ducati Streefighter V4 S looks like, guess no more. We like it when manufacturers decide to dump their parts catalog onto one of their most badass motorcycles and then hand us the keys, and that's exactly what we have here. This time, Ducati North America decided to build a wolf in the most pissed off sheep's clothing, fitting a whole slew of its catalog parts on this Streetfighter V4 S. The biggest difference makers are the Marchesini forged magnesium wheels, Akrapovic full racing exhaust, and the dry clutch conversion. Road Test Editor Troy then flogged it on both the street and the track to see what the transformed Streetfighter could do.

    - Carbon fiber front and rear fenders
    - Rizoma CNC machined mirrors
    - Ducabike sprocket carrier
    - Rizoma CNC machined fluid reservoirs
    - Tail tidy of your choice
    So plus $1500 or so dollars more to perfection lol.
    200 rear wheel HP is correct for this bike with that exhaust, which puts the crank HP (what’s advertised) at around 225hp.

    Have any of you noticed that lately there are almost no motorcycles available for sale on showroom floors? I took my 2019 Concours 14 in for tires at Chaparral Motorsports, and they were nearly out of new bikes, and had no new models on the floor. It’s a similar story at Malcom Smith’s as well. I know there is supply chain issues, but I know also that Gavin has it out for ICE powered anything. Ducati itself is an expression of success. Al The build quality and materials used is great( own a V2, and had a monster 1200s)and so is the performance and technology, none of the competitors have such a superb working traction, wheelie control and cornering abs! You can barely feel it kick in, super smooth. Yamaha still can’t put a front brake on their R1 that won’t fade to hell and lets not talk about the terrible traction control and abs on other bikes, especially for track riding! A Ducati on the track is amazing weapon.

    Nice, need carbon wheels - better handling, acceleration and braking, the best investment of the bunch. Had magnesium wheels, the carbon ones are a big step up. Get a clean up kit for the rear, looks better saves a few ounces for very little money (compared to everything else). Titanium bolts all around and especially the huge rear wheel bolt/axle set up.
    Too bad you still can't get a carbon rear brake disk. had one on my 851/984. Weighed nothing, of course it didn't do any braking either until it got hot. You spend another 4 or 5 grand but there should be noticeable weight loss.
    Or you could just go on a diet, which probably matters more than anything except the wheels. Have fun.

    Why go with a dry clutch??

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a nostalgia Ducati thing. They were used in racing due to less parasitic losses (more HP to the wheel), faster lockup times. But it's more a classic sound on this machine. Ducati has mostly gotten entirely away from them in recent years. Even on the Ducati Multistrada V4 they have eliminated Desmo valve train in favor of long-service-interval springs.
      RnineT BMW bikes with the old school boxer engine have a single dry clutch on the back, which requires taking the bike in half to service. New water/oil 1250 engines are entirely different, wet clutch on the front.
