In the southern US, they c they served okra breaded and fried in southern cuisine. My Irish relatives call it "lady finger." Bhindi bhajee is definitely the best way to cook it. It needs the curry spices. It is interesting that bhindi bhajee (or mushroom bhajee) is a kind of bhuna whereas onion bhajee is basically a kind of pakora.
Yum my favourite curry dish . It was mums favourite, now my favourite, my daughters favourite and my grandchildren love it also 😊 Those who haven't tried it ..... Honestly give it a go . Very clear cooking instructions
Thanks for your recipe and cooking style - I used to "top and tail" okra and cut it as you did, but then I started cooking it whole, perhaps just a tiny trim of the top but not to expose the inside to too much liquid. I much prefer whole okra! Thanks again - I love all your videos!
Good stuff man👌 I've made bhindi almost similar to yours before, just used mango powder(found that it tightens up the slime and not goowey) and chopped tomatoes. It was an accompliment to a lamb chops dish. We had leftovers of it. So the next day I boiled up some potatoes, gave a rough mash, mixed it all together, got some dough kneaded, and made aloo & bhindi paratha! Mannnn! You have to try that one out.😋🤙
When I used to look after my friend's little girl, I used to gently fry some thinly sliced bhindi/okra. I told her they were 'star vegetables', so she ate them up all the time.
Also, did you know that in the 90s, there was a well known Asian Elvis impersonator who did a song called "Bhindi Baji Boogie" th-cam.com/video/sW-KlqCdHfY/w-d-xo.html
Latif a big congrats you definitely know how to do videos on BIR and the ingredients and measurements are spot on! I am watching from Toronto Canada and being Anglo Indian it's wonderful having these recipes❤
Growing up was a regular staple cut was smaller mixed with dried cod fish cooked until slightly brown with sada roti or parata roti/ ocra as we call it grown and picked fresh from garden❤
Great inspiration from you guys! I made a dry sabzi (?) with bhindi, garlic and nigella-seeds ( I think) years ago. Have forgotten the recipe and can´t find it on the internet. Any help from you great guys? Many thanx from Sweden.
okra is very underrated as a vegetable i've always used 1 inch strips, but i'll try 2 inch and see how i like it man i'm craving bhindi so badly right now
@@LatifsInspired love it ! (also, not a huge fan of okra :D ), also, I think, with the veg curry, you get the easy to digest spices (herbal medicine ), I'm starting to wonder if this style of cooking, is also medicinal !
One again a wonderful dish, which will be done as soon as I find some okra But the camera work is off, I’m sure you can tell what isn’t working in these new series
Great now you tell me, sorry my i introduce myself, im Sargent furytoes i have a very tiny channel, i do cooking and Forza7 videos, and every now and again i do a Saturday night indian makeaway, but I could not find a English voice of this recipe on youtube, anyway great channel 👍
@@Barrygee I know, I e already had a meeting with my editing team and they will rectify from our next shoot. I appreciate your feedback end of the day I’m doing these videos for my viewers. Love as always. Latif
Hi Latif. I live in New Zealand, and Bhindi is hardly ever on the menu. (And believe me, I have been to a few Indian restaurants over here!) This is such a shame as it is my favourite veg dish. I have to rely on my own skills and frozen bhindi .
Also we don’t know if the onions were sliced diced or thin can’t tell because it was a bit blurry and you didn’t show us properly 😢, tbh I don’t even know if this matters or not?

I am from the southern US. We love okra in gumbo and fried okra is wonderful.

Looks good and very appetizing. Will surely try it out
Great video Latif
We like okra. Thank you for showing me a new way of cooking okra.
That and a bombay potato, couple of chapatis and I'm in heaven, love your channel.

I’ve never liked the texture of okra, but your recipes are so good I’ll give it a try.

I love bhindi, in bhaji and in other recipes.
Thanks - great recipe (as ever).
Thank you for the feedback
I tried okra because of one of your videos. I only trim the tops off. So delicious with Indian spices. Will definitely try this. 😋

Production values keep rising, and I'm loving it, Latif. Good lighting and camera angles. Your edits have wipes!
We are trying to give the best quality & working on better angles for you guys to enjoy

I think I will try this. We usually like the younger smaller pods bc they are more tender when we cook fried okra. I noticed yours were pretty large.
great channel 👍👍
Thank you for the support

dried fenugreek Leaves
@@LatifsInspired thanks so much..im making again your butter chicken ..buona buona🤗🤗
Lovely recipes! A question: What do need to add to a BIR base gravy to make a classic chicken tikka masala sauce?
Any Red Dwarf fans remember the Bhindi Bhaji??
Vindaloovians 👍😂
Ooh my absolute favourite but very hard to find in my local Indian restaurant and takeaways
Yes I know
👌👌✨✨

Hi. I would love a recipe for a cauliflower bahji.

Do you always use alu pans?
I’m looking for good pan atm
New spice? Beesmeela? Where can you buy it?
No video?
What do you say when you put the ingredients in?
I’d like to be able to see into the pan more, a higher camera angle perhaps?
Will improve on it. I have a new team.

Very nice but u could use less tomatoes and less ginger, garlic.will taste better
No text recipe instructions? Or even just the ingredients?
Hi Latif. I live in New Zealand, and Bhindi is hardly ever on the menu. (And believe me, I have been to a few Indian restaurants over here!) This is such a shame as it is my favourite veg dish. I have to rely on my own skills and frozen bhindi .
Just follow this recipe you will be delighted
Tasty vegetable but mine was frozen
Still great
It is double-fried OKRA.
The vegetable that separates the men from the boyz.
Lol
I do not worry about OKRA being slimy
Never heard of tomatoes in bhindi sabzi. Unless you call it bhindi curry.
Also we don’t know if the onions were sliced diced or thin can’t tell because it was a bit blurry and you didn’t show us properly 😢, tbh I don’t even know if this matters or not?
I hate the "NEW STYLE" camera work! It is much too close. I liked the old style much better where we could see you talk and watch your cooking style.
I’ll take that on board. Thank you so much
Britain videos are much better
Sorry to be saying again , but stop cooking /scraping aluminium shavings into your fabulous food is not good
Yes definitely
Yes! It makes me cringe every time. Please use a wooden spoon or non-aluminium pan.
A brave effort, but okra is just wrong, and no amount of spice will ever change that.
Each to there own but i love it
Ahh, bless
Probably the most vile vegetable of them all... even worse than sprouts!
Oh dear
Tried many of your recipes, awesome. But this... Will give it a go, but a vegetable made by Satan IMHO.😅
