Seems like Porsche/Multimatic had Le Mans in mind at every step of this car design
Watch all the GTP tech tours. Great stuff!
indycar fans can only dream of a video series like this
Thanks for making me 😢😢😢
Can confirm, you’re 100% correct!
But IndyCar has been doing some 101 educational videos recently. They did 101 videos before too, I believe
OUTSTANDING attention to detail, and graphic work. Subscribed for sure. Can’t wait for this season, let’s enjoy every minute!
I think gtp needs a retro livery weekend! hah
Good one!!
Great idea
With "IMSA" and "GTP", I bet we see an AL Holbert homage 963 at some point in 2023.
Thanks so much for the brilliant technical overviews of the GTP cars Marshall. RACER coverage of sportscars is peerless 👍
Great video as always! Did chuckle at 9:26 though as immediately after it showed the Acura with what appears to be road car badges on the back bodywork.
The BMW Hybrid V8 sports the "new" BMW heritage (50 years BMW M) badge as well. Which is available since last year on the road models. Seems to be a full badge too other than the cadilac which seems to only have a sticker from what I can tell.
Good stuff, Marshall. Thanks!!
Another great video MP... thanks so much for this detailed look into the 963. This IMSA season and WEC season are both going to be classic!
Awesome to see a modern-day 962. Really looking forward to the start of the season.
Superb video Marshall
This car is amazing.
Thank you for the in-depth look at the 963. Go Porsche!
I am so pumped for the new IMSA season!
As a Mazda fan of the prior DPi, the idea of a Porsche powered Multimantic car managed by Penski is a dream come true. Now if only it be Plum purple with Gold livery I could image what could of been in the Mazda Multimantic days.
Nicely done - thank you! I own a Volvo 850, which was also a collaborative effort with Porsche on the engine and is an amazingly engineered vehicle. Grateful to have Porsche back in the top class, again!
I can’t wait to see these cars in action. The designers and engineers have really outdone themselves with the most aerodynamically sophisticated prototypes I’ve seen. Excellent video!
So stoked for this GTP season and to see Porsche and Ferrari battling it out like the glory days!
Stunning. Beautiful. I'm so stoked for this year's 24 at Daytona. I put in for the time off to make sure I wasn't going to miss this!
This is fantastic content Marshall. Can’t wait for the coming racing season and more of these kinds of in depth videos.
Love the way you pronounce Porsche the right way! Very intresting Tech Tour!!
Most professional presentation/delivery I've heard in a long time. Network boys need to know your name!
Thank you ,Marshal Very impressive share ! 2:21
Excellent content! Thank you
Great video! Can’t wait for Daytona!
Kick ass ! Lets bring home another 24 hours du Mans!!!
The cluster of 4 lights is a design call to the present 911.
I can't wait to see them out in the race in a week! They all look Great 😍. I'll be rooting for Porsche as always! The noise the Cadillac makes though is bliss ❤
Awesome video thank you for the content!
The differences in front wheel well evacuation techniques between the cars is fascinating. I wonder what factor in to each design
The hype around sports car racing is only building, it's looking to be a banner year for IMSA & the WEC as well
Awesome car and spectacular video. Go Porsche!!!
Sooooo technically, the Porsche 963 is an Open Wheel Car
Send it to F1!
This car is gorgeous
Is it possible for you guys to make similar videos for the lm hypercars?
Wow looks good can't wait to see them at CTMP in July!!! Good work Marshall keep it up!!!
Wow, i didn't know the Porsche had that open wheel design on the front. Great 👍🏼
Awesome videos. Thanks
Pleasant surprise that the presenter to the video is Marshall :-D
Good work MP. Can we please get this one in the old high life livery? Please…
I loved the all-dressed reference!
This is top tier.
I'm rooting for either team Acura or Cadillac as previous battles they had earned my respect for both, but damn the Porsche looks amazing.
The packaging of this car is on another level compared to the others; it’s an open-wheeled racer wearing a hoodie.
Isn't the heave spring a must have for high downforce race car?
I thought every prototype race car and open wheel race car have heave springs.
So beautiful - yet again
it is the interior air flow that makes it work so great
The only car faster...
...is all electric
'Eelectrick"?
A much more elegant and pretty design than the 919.
Nice review 👌
awesome thank you!
Porsche and Penske aren't fooling around. This design is top notch engineering and we're about to see who can conquer the Rolex 24.
The key traits of the 918 Spyder carry on like the 4.6 liter V8 but adding twin turbos.
Are teams allowed to modify and upgrade their cars as they learn about them over the coming years?
AWESOME "CARS"!!!
Wow you have the book "Porsche 956 001" - thank you for reading!
Awesome thanks so much
Interesting that BMW who pioneered the hot vee is not using it on its car and Porsche is.
Not for a long time in IMSA and WEC have we had a series of two championships where it is not about the cars, but it's all about the drivers. The reason being because the BOP, balance of performance rules will make it a level playing field. So in my opinion the best drivers will win the championships not the cars as was the case with Toyota in WEC.
I personally think it looks quite similar to the Mazda on the front end side of things
Omg 🥰🥰 SUBSCRIBED!!!
Lol very kind assessment of the aesthetics
I'd be genuinely shocked if Porsche didn't "influence" Multimatic somewhat with regards to the tub. It feels like something Penske/Porsche would do to push those regs and blur those lines.
Freaking awesome
one more on my binge....
It's too bad about the crash that occurred at qualifying, it was said that it was very windy and it affected the rear, causing the loss of control and the crash to the left front.
How I miss the days when street versions were required for homologation! A street legal 963??? Yes please!!!
I feel like Porsche has the championship
AMESOME!
The Porsche is well designed, but then if there's a limit of 4:1 lift to drag, there is only that much efficiency that can be allowed.
Though I'm not a real Nascar fan they have pushrod engines that can do 9000 RPM
It's hard to believe that Porsche needs a 4.6L engine to make 670 HP with twin turbos. Are you sure that the displacement isn't more like 4.0L?
Porsche there is no substitute...
The nose looks like the Mazda nose.
Cadillac, Porsche, Acura and BMW, they all make electric cars. they should have enter one electric car in a electric car division of the 24.
Gtp should deliver 750hp aprox. 650 pr whatever they have seems poor to me, especially for the "top class"
Boy that's a low ride height. Cant afford to slide and run over the rumble strips with it that low
So based on going different. It will either win. Or fall on its face. Probably the former.
BoP will unfortunately try to make it interesting either way.
Obviously it will dominate as expected.
Porsche will win LeMans this year
To be fair, the headlights are rather boring than revolutionary
that won't feel boring anymore when the car starts to win lot of races.
