I love the Ace slabs, they are so nice (especially with the ace labels). I hope they do become major competition for the US giants. I actually really like the colour match labels as well, wondering why you've said you wouldn't use those? I've only just started to have my cards graded with Ace and I got my first batch back recently. Got a few 10s so I was pretty happy with that! I'm torn about what to do with my higher value cards though, since PSA still seems to be the best for adding value a lot of the time, but I personally hate the look of their slabs/labels and I've had slabs from some of the other places like CGC and Beckett and there was nothing special about those either, IMO.
I Think Ace are moving closer and will compete in usa and overtake in uk.The ace slabs are better made and look great.Aldo they are priced fairly and are returned in good time.The pikachu is the one i like most from your slabs.
I like the ace labels and the plastic they use feels nice and weighty which I like. Hope the values start reflecting the decent slab quality
Yeah I think it will grow the money as they are pushing promo slot!
CGC has been grading for way over a decade with comics. I believe with their mergers, changing the label, adding a pristine 10, and partnering with many corporations including PWCC, they have solidified themselves as top 3 with Beckett and PSA being #1. Ace is 5th right now, based on many vendors I've talked to at conventions. Ace's label is okay.
Some solid points bud however do you not think changing the label had a negative effect for a while? I don’t use them myself but saw some negative press when the announced it?
@@Mattculli Its the same as the negative effect of scarlet and violet's first few months. People don't like change, and take a while to adjust. People didnt like sword and shield for the first few sets either. I believe with all the information I've gathered from other people and my own research, that CGC is in a good spot.... they are grading over 177k slabs per month and it keeps going up 10-15%... it even forced PSA to finally update their slabs to thicker, quality slabs. Beckett didnt scare PSA, CGC has scared PSA. Ace grading hasnt really made an impact in the market.... as of this comment in June 2024

I still believe ACE is only useful for new cards, not for value. CGC is still more valuable for vintage. And some vintage are worth similar same in any grading company if it’s a low grade or a sub-par card.
Ace is terrible just like cgc. Nobody is gonna overtake psa or bgs anyway. But I've lost all respect for randy and ace with all the grades he does for himself. Nobody with any sense is gonna grade high end vintage or more modern with ace unless you're overseas and still yet mostly is done by psa or bgs.
For sure Jackson as we know PSA is still king for value but interesting to see CGC not adding as much value as I thought
@@Mattculli I think like BGS, it’s only the pristine and perfects that add value whereas you could argue that not to always be the case with PSA. Tbh, grading and values have just become more centred around 10’s in all companies - unless expensive, graded lower just helps with authenticity and preservation, rather than value
ACE don’t even have to be the best in the world for me. As long as they become recognised world wide that will be good. At the moment I think ace is the best in the UK. Hopefully they will gain recognition in the USA over the next few years.

ACE is my go-to. from a small sample (10 cards to each).... ACE was spot on with my guesses on grades ... compared with PSA & CGC which got me wild differences which cause me concern on their quality control. Also PSA slabs are the worst on the market!

I only buy Ace slabs of cards I want to keep. Not interested in Psa as they r just money grabbers imo

Problem with ACE and values are the difference in label prices and such, sold data is a pain in the ass because of it
Oh that's a good point. Perhaps if Ace just controlled their label option and did not give the customer the option to choose, the sold data would be more digestible and trackable. Mattculli - you should do a video on this. How's the market data between Standard Label 10 vs Colour Match Label 10 vs Ace Label 10? Surely the pricing would be different. PSA, CGC, Beckett - they control their labels.

Favourite is the Pikachu, like that it has a story haha, and also I like that the card looks less 'fancy' if that makes sense
My favourite is the Ninetales from the Japanese version of Twilight Masquerade (I'm not really up on the names of the Japanese sets) But I ADORE the artwork on the Ninetales. If I was made of money, I'd fill a binder with dozens of just that card, to be honest Lol
Ooh interesting numbers there. CGC has a much bigger market in America I believe rather than over here.

I love the special labels on ACE but it will take a while for them to catch up to the big 3, love Mew Ex

I like the different styles of label designs, and the choice of grading companies, i'm not too fussed about value because to me it's more about that wow factor.
Hate the cases for sure.
PSA only one worth going through… then probably BGS, CGC or maybe even those crazy looking TAG cards. Easily PSA over anywhere else though
My local card shop (The G-zone in Worthing town centre) uses a small grading company called tree frog, have you ever heard of it?

My little one said the Fat Pikachu. He has just started out and is loving the original style of Pikachu.
I would love to grade with ACE, but the shipping fee is pretty high. And the costs outweigh the profit if I don't get a 10 with ACE after shipping to them from here. Since CGC is just one city away from me, it's much more affordable. CGC should have kept the sub-grading after they revamped their label design. Would love to see you compare ACE 10 vs CGC Pristine 10. The chatter I have been hearing is that CGC Pristine 10 is valued higher than a PSA 10, but of course, PSA dominance is undeniable in this hobby.

I like Ace, it’s unique but the art labels hit and miss but art is subjective so you always run the risk… Slabs n logo is brilliant one of the best however standard label just lacks something… And then when you do get a 10 it just doesn’t have that special feel that CGC, Beckett n PSA have. Saying all that I do like Ace allot though :)
Ace is the new kid on the block, but really like they way they match their headers to the card thats in the slab. Give it a few more months, and I reckon all the other graders will match as well 😊

I collect Pokemon and Magic the Gathering. Some thoughts:
For Pokemon, I'm just a collector. I'll get Ace grading on raw cards in my collection that are worth it. I'm not interested in sending it overseas to get it graded, or paying a middle man to take care of it for me. I'll also buy Ace graded slabs to fill gaps and I prefer those over raws. I'll happily pay £15 extra for an ace label slab to save on the hassle of doing it myself, especially if it's a 9 or 10.
For MTG it's different. I play heavily and like to bling out my decks, so I don't get most of my cards graded. If I'm slabbing a card for my own collection, I'll get Ace. But if it's for resale, it's PSA or nothing, and I go through a middleman due to the low quantity.
Grade with ace for collection. When you want to sell crack open the 10s and send them to psa

The Ace slabs definitely look great for display
I like the Ace grading labels but I think it would be nice to have the sub grades on the label (maybe even the reverse). Though I get the revenue stream from selling that for £2 a card so can't fault them for that.
my favourite is the Japanese typhlosion holo in a mint 9, just such a nice card

i used ace so many times love there lables there cards they have always been good no issuies from me 100-100 stars for ace ive not sent the cards off to usa graders yet love all the japanse cards
Psa slabs are flimsy and the card's rattle
Whare with ace the slabs are thick and the card's are sleeved up for more protection
ace has been my favr grading company since i saw there you tube about it the cards come back good the lables are brill and the company is so good

Sorry to say but no, love the ACE colourful labels but it will not overtake CGC.
Tbh, this isn’t a good way to compare cgc vs Ace. Ace is mainly European buyers and CGC is for the states. PSA is the only company that truly transcends both continents. You should have set your ebay to worldwide or used apps like TCG Fish or Alt. That’s how I usually get true values of cards
very true however being based in the UK that's mainly what I am trying to cover as your right CGC will do better in USA and Ace does better here

Nobody wants either. But ace will have a higher chance at being higher in the UK and cgc will always be higher in america. Simple. Fact is, use either, stay in the hobby 10/15 years and you will regret when you have lost so much value.
Also grading is more established in America. Just because there's no cgc 9 just means Americans know not to grade bad cards at a bad company. Where as in the UK people are not understanding it's a waste of time grading some of these cards at ace

The title of this video makes me laugh. Cheeky humor dude! Ace grading was a nice idea during the pandemic. I personally will never ever send my cards to ace or buy a card wich is grade by ace. The slabs look horrible. I'm sorry for your your friends. Succes with the promotion.

Appreciate the comment bud…what I would say is if you buy an ace 9 and cross grade to PSA it will hit a 10 more often than not so I wouldn’t rule out buying ace slabs for that reason that’s if you buy cards to flip etc

have to disagree regarding slabs - the PSA feels cheap and plastic/kids toy.. the ACE feels solid and best to display my cards in.
