I have just purchased a 503, I believe I damaged my 505v when I blew up a 30a psu, possibly over-driven it. The 503 I only plan 4w Fm 8w Ssb from a CRT SS9900, and hopefully I can get the 505v repaired. Appreciate the video 👍🇬🇧
Great video. I was wondering if you could advise if this amp housing should also be grounded to vehicle chassis along with the power and negative going to battery terminals? Im getting interference when I key up my cb mic to talk in my RAM truck. When I key the mic and talk it causes my oil pressure gauge to drop. Goes back to normal when let go of mic or don’t use the amp. Any suggestions?

The shop where you acquire the linear should be able to repair you can always try to repair it yourself they are a bit tricky to work on is they are double sided board but nothing very difficult if you have a bit of soldering skills if the finals are burnt there is a possibility burnt tracks and other burnt components sometimes repair on electronic equipments does not compensate is the price of labour end parts can be expensive in our days that amplifier is 5 Watts drive only on FM so if you I have burnt the finals the cause might be pushing too much power into it I don't really contact for a electronics engineer I can do my work by myself but if you cannot find somebody you can always contact me you will have to post the linear to me
That’s a bad way to put that fuse in. There’s gonna be a problem, no question.

You could have put in a thermal switch to run the fans automatically.
