      @@amberlindsey7112 it will fade a bit. However the unicorn shirt is still going strong and very cute. I can’t say it looks as “crisp” as it does in the video but my granddaughter wears it for bed and it gets washed weekly. So every months later, weekly washes it looks like any other well worn pj shirt. The image is still very solid and very colorful

      The shirts do fade a bit after several washes, but more of a softer look like the tshirt gets after several washes. The image is still quite vivid.. I can't really explain it. It's still a great image, just not quite as crisp as the original. I am still making them for myself and the kids because I hate wearing poly tees

    The only thing I didn’t like was a shadow that remains where I sprayed the Dyepress solution on a gray 100% cotton shirt. I used Cricut infusible ink and it worked just like the pink shirt you show. After 2 washings in cold water (no fabric softener) there is still a shadow where I sprayed the Dyepress. Unfortunately I was aggressive on the area I sprayed and next time I won’t spray such a big area.

    Lori, I’m so inspired by your videos! Always new, fresh diversified content! My kid’s have been encouraging me to start a channel. I’ve been do research of different channels (what I like and don’t like, what speaks to me, and the different kinds of production / presentation) for the last year. As a Hands-on-Science Elementary Instructor (real job, lol) the 2020 spring Pandemic threw me into a whole new way of instruction and a steeper learning curve! Almost Blew my Mind! This experience made me a little slow to jumping off! Your model is the one I keep coming back to. You don’t drag it out into an hour of chit chat, family drama or grand standing. Just clear instruction! Do you have any words of wisdom or instruction you would be willing to share??? My content would be basic science concepts or simple experiments / crafting

    • @LorrieNunemaker
      @LorrieNunemaker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rebecca McAllister all I can say is do what you love and you’ll be happy. There are so many different audiences. Some like the chit chat, some like the straight to the point, some like the extremely edited and other want to see the mistakes, some are all about the glitzy effects and others just want to know how to do something. The point being, you will never make everyone happy, so just do what feels natural and right to you and your like minded subscribers will come. Don’t be afraid to try. Remember to share your content everywhere of you want to build a following.

    • @LorrieNunemaker
      @LorrieNunemaker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rebecca McAllister also - remember to focus on the positive comments because there will always be a few jerks who feel the need to critique or say not so nice things. It’s very easy to zero in on those few comments and forget the other 97% of good comments. The majority have good intentions, those other 3% just need prayer 😉

    How do you keep the white t-shirts from ending up with yellow scorched patches outside of the printed area where there is over spray? I tried removing by spraying peroxide but still can see yellowing. And yes, followed their instructions carefully with time and temperature. Verified my heat press temperature with an Infrared Thermometer Temperature Gun.

    Was hoping to see what the shirts look like after washing because that's the real issue for me. The 100% cotton tee can print colorful shirts, but it washes out in the first wash. How many washes will this last. If it says it will last for the whole life of the shirt, I don't understand how because it is a "coating" for the cotton fibers and if that gets worn off, won't the result be fading?

    Lorrie, there seems to be one universal question regarding spray ons and sublimation. Longevity. Please do you have before and after washing?

    Hi Lorrie. Boy does this open up the many possibilities. Can you use the Easy Press 2? Where can you order sublimation ink for a printer and the concentrated & spray bottle? What’s the cost for ink. & spray? Do you have to put a sheet between the shirt layers to prevent bleed through? Thank you!

      Karen Carr I have products listed in the video description. As far as ink it depends which printer you use. You will have to google your printer and sublimation ink

    love the video,great to know we can print on 100%cotten with this product. Tho would'nt you want to put a piece of " butcher paper or telflon sheet"inside of the shirt, so no accidently printing to the back of shirt and maybe secure with "heat tape"? Just curious but I found your video informative. Thank you

    Hi, Lorrie, I ordered the product and will be using it soon. I made the mistake of ordering RED shirts for family for Christmas, not realizing that the cute sublimation design I purchased on Etsy would not transfer that readily to red. It looks faded. Any tips? Or do I just tell the kids it's supposed to be subtle. I am not sure I want to go out and buy more t-shirts. Any suggestions appreciated Thanks! Mary

    Not related to your project. But is your heat press directly on your printer? Is it not to heavy and hot on your Sawgrass? I was wondering in order to save place. Love your help with sublimation

    Awesome! I’m not a fan of poly shirts so this is awesome news! Two questions....you say parchment paper. Isn’t it supposed to be butcher paper? Did that change? And do you no longer need to put a piece of white cardstock between layers of shirt? Thank you for this video.

    • @LorrieNunemaker
      @LorrieNunemaker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It never hurts to put the cardstock in the middle. However I didn’t have any problem with bleed through. I used parchment paper and DyePress specifically says to use parchment paper when drying the two layers

      Because sublimation and infusible ink from cricut need a polymer coating for the ink to infuse into the fabric, dyepress and other companies use something like polycrylic in their cotton spray. I make my own poly spray and follow the shirt prep that dyepress tells you to do with their spray. I am going to get their desizer spray though.

    • @LorrieNunemaker

      make sure your heat press is the correct temp for the different steps and that it is the correct temp in general. It sounds like it's getting too hot. Also, make sure you're only spraying the area you plan to sublimate

      @@LorrieNunemaker I have a big heat press Hottronix that I got from a retail sporting goods store that went out of business. Do you think it may be getting too hot? I am thinking it should not be any different from any other press? I am following the exact steps and it still yellows. Of course the spray does get a little out of line but not much. I washed the first one I pressed and it seemed to wash out, but I don't want to wash every 100% cotton shirt I make. Do you think I should turn down the heat? Or press it for less time?
