WOW Derek ♥️ I've cried when their first 2 songs off their upcoming album were shared...tears of extreme, overwhelming JOY and HEALING ♥️. And teared up through your priceless reaction to both ♥️ ABBA is literally saving the world's SOUL during these extremely suffering times and YOUR REACTION is truly PRICELESS ♥️ the way you feel and live each part, sharing it with us so raw makes it all even better. Our collective ABBA soul has been re ignited just when the world was getting ever darker...Long Live ABBA! ♥️Creation's genius gift to this world ♥️

As good as it is I wouldn' say that this is better than anyone else today. Michael Kiwanuka last album is a masterpiece. Best album of last 10 years with James Dean Bradfield Even in Exile close second, The Waterboys , Black Pumas, The Villagers last album etc There is so much beautifu musicl still being created but unfortunately it ' s not mainstream so it''s not played on the radio.
@@eroy66 Those bands you talk about are not mainstream because they didn't produce MAGIC like this. I studied as a musician and I can tell you it has always been this way that the greatest music gets acknowledged and then transcends time. That's why the Beatles are still so popular and this goes back through the centuries. We still listen to Wagner, Mozart, Bach, Debussy and on and on. Music like this never goes away yet all the bands you mention absolutely will. It's the way it is.
Well since you are so particular about their age, may I nitpick on that? These songs were recorded 3 years ago and so you can subtract 3 from their current age, if you want to be particularly accurate about it.
I don’t know if other people feel this but I feel I’ve got my childhood back and I’m in the very best moments of the late 70s/early 80s and it’s very emotional. The first track is so very bittersweet and tugs at the heart, the second tells a hopeful story but is so upbeat and just joyous. I’ve cried way too much but they’re all tears of joy. Just an amazing, not comeback but continuation of the ABBA legend.
It's truly incredible how ABBA hasn't skipped a beat. You could tell me that this was produced 40 years ago, and I wouldn't doubt you. What brings me joy is how dynamic it sounds. When music is that complex and layered, I find it so much more soulful. It strikes me at my core with its raw beauty.
They come back after 40 years and literally KILL anything else released in that time! Wonderful comment from D.C. Warren further down here. I totally agree, soo nice.
I’m 37 and a circuit DJ been spinning for the last 20 years and it’s now a wake up call for today’s so called music ….. ABBA brought back the simplicity of the melodic and harmonic sounds as how it should be. Sophisticated lyrics ..when u makes people cry and emotionally reminisce it’s untouchable. Stay tuned because … THE DANCE MIXES ARE COMING …..
I've always thought the real tragedy of the breakup is that - The guy's never found singers who interpreted their work so well. And the girls have never found songwriters that could write songs so tailor made for them. When their working together there is a synergy or magic or whatever you want to call it - ABBA. Well done Agnetha. Well done Bjorn. Well done Benny. Well done Anni-Frid. Well done ABBA. You've just proved again no other band even comes close.
Björn and Benny have been very active throughout all these years, producing tons of good songs. Two muscials (Chess and "Kristina från Duvemåla"), folktunes (for example: th-cam.com/video/B6ITCSkf9iQ/w-d-xo.html), Benny wrote this wonderful tune for a Swedish popband: th-cam.com/video/8iv5N8vuydY/w-d-xo.html and then several hits (in Swedish though) for Benny´s own band (Björn wrote the lyrics BAO) with a fantastic singer, Helen Sjöholm.
@@mattias5157 Agreed, but the point being made is that there's not been any singer able to interpret their songs the way Frida and Agneta do, and there's not been any songwriters able to write songs for them to be interpreted this way. I completely agree with this. It there had been the music they have all put out without each other would be as widespread as ABBAs music, and not one single song has. Not because they haven't been writing as good songs or recording as good songs, but because there is an every dynamic created when they all come together. Just as with all successful bands.
@@carinalindberg7377 Not the same magic, true, but then there is also the language factor. For Swedes for example I think "Lassie" is a hit in ABBA´s scale.
I cried. I had no idea I was crying. Fabulous. A register lower but still ABBA. I ordered everything! Good job. The lyrics are up lifting for me, not sad. They bring me to tears in a good way. Frida's low register is lower, as is Agnetha's. But they have depth with the maturity. Bjorn and Benny created masterpieces of emotions. True for each of them and true for us. And those ABBAtars are breathtaking. Listening live was fabulous and listening to several interviews with B&B was insightful. What a great moment. Counting the days till Nov 5th.
I am 53 years old, and I remember the day, my birthday on christmas, I got a radio and casette player from my parents and there was a recording funktion on it, I also got some empty tapes. And ABBA was giving a live concert on the radio, and I recorded the whole concert, the best birthday ever. (as a child) this christmas I will ask my children the new album, yes!!! ABBA is back!!
Makes me tear up.. This is my whole childhood in new clothes....don't forget they are 70plus years now... New record in november... This are people who everyone is sickly rich allready ... They are not doing this for money.. They doing this for themself, the fans, and for the love they still feel for each other... As a Swede this is very emotional.. They are older but they still have that magic left...To come back after 39 years and do it at this level and still touching hearts is nothing else than amazing.... When human music history is concluded... ABBA will allways be mentioned...
Frida sings lead in "I Still Have Faith In You" her mezzo-soprano voice is 90% intact after all this Years. Agnetha sings lead in "Don't Shut me Down" her voice is as angelic as always and you can only hear her aged voice in her lower register. After all time waits for no one but their voices for their age are in an amazing shape
Yes both Agnetha's and Frida's voices have changed but they still don't need auto tune. Please give credit where credit is due millions have waited years for this beautiful experience and it is always a treat to hear ABBA once again.
@@Awistas yes I must agree with you, we would all like to think they wouldn't use modern technology to enhance their voices but as you say they do. Ah well we can all dream that nothing has changed....
When I watched the livestream yesterday, Frida only sang the first words of "I Still Have Faith In You" and the tears ran from my eyes. And now I'm sitting here watching this reaction and I'm crying again. Both songs are so beautiful and the "third voice" in "Don't Shut Me Down" is so recognizable. As if the last forty years had never been there.
I was thinking the same thing! When Frida and Agnetha sing alone, you can hear how their voices have changed with age - they still sound wonderful, of course - but, bizarrely, when they're singing together on the chorus of "Don't Shut Me Down" they sound exactly like they did years ago. It's like the "third voice" is ageless!
I don't care who I upset out there by saying this; but even The Beatles could not have pulled this off had they been able to get back together after FORTY years!! This is only something ABBA could do! They'll be able to sing and compose like this until they day they die! I hate sounding all religious - but it makes you feel God decided this was the greatest group and got his approval - and blessed them with eternal singing youth! Not changed at all - seemed impossible until you hear them - why this group? I think it says it all! Just what the world needed in such dreadful times - it’s like a comforting blanket to show that some things will NEVER change - no matter HOW MANY YEAS PASS! I cried when I first heard ‘Shut Me Down’ for all the reasons Dereck explained.
How do you make a 51 year old heterosexual man cry happy tears? Show an avitar of Frida from the 1970s singing a new song. Breaks me every time and I've been whistling "I still have faith in you" since I heard it. "Don't shut me down" is the wish of their avitars, don't forget them. I've got to get the new album. I never thought I'd be buying a new ABBA album.
i am a day man here in my 60s and of course cried like a baby when i first heard abba's new songs. it was like seeing an old friend or relative that i had not seen in 40 yrs. omg!!! i too had to pre-order the lp. i ended up with 3 lol one from the abba store on white vinyl. an exclusive orange vinyl from amazon and an exclusive from target on yellow with a diff cover than the original pressing.. also ordered faith on 45 vinyl and shut on cd single. which shipped last friday. cant wait to get the lps in nov will be my birthday present for me. whooo hoooo!
Honestly, I cried - I don't know what it is but the fact they can come back with such strong material, now, here in cynical 2021, and be almost universally loved for it, is genuinely moving. It's as if they never left, it's made me so happy today to hear their new tracks, and can't wait for the full album. The magic is back, and we need that, more than ever.
I totally agree, you describe it very well! It's deeply heartwarming to read about the worlds reaction to these songs. Honest, melodic quality can still penetrate the shallowness of today and get instant recognition.
I agree with you. They took me back to those years when my dad was traveling through Europe and Asia and back then he was bringing me Abba cassettes from Japan. Since then I have become a fan of them and have listened to them throughout my life.
ABBA just took over another generation! All these reactions from people that was not even born or produced in the ballsack of dads then is proof that ABBA IS TIMELESS; AGELESS!! 10. 10. 10. 10.
Brother I have just come across your channel, I'm 51 and loved Abba my whole life. Watching your reaction brought tears to my eyes because that's what their music does, it touches on all levels of emotions. Im so lucky to be a witness to the best pop group of all times bring back the magic they have for all of us ❤️
Agnetha and Annifrid have distinctive and beautiful individual voices but something absolutely incredible happens when they sing in harmony. The universe speeds up or slows down, I can't tell which, it's wonderful x
I've cried tears of joy for 24 hours now! I've listened to both tracks at least 100 times. Agnetha and Frida have still got it, and Fridas' mezzo-soprano is still as sultry and smooth as ever ❤🔥 The legacy continues.
Me too , replay cry dance learn the words,,,replay cry dance learn the words ,,,,replay cry dance learn the words , I dont know what to say ....waited years for this...
Get online and the first thing is 'ah yes!...let's have it a few more times 😀, then on to something else, then back to it just as well...-it's been playing in my head anyway! 'Don't shut me down ' it is for me- and I could not!
I listen to this multiple times a day and I’m not as huge ABBA fan like most people here, but I’m so happy this material is being released. Love nostalgia.
I can’t stop crying and remembered how I cried 40 years ago. They have never gone away and the sound and lyrics are full of love and memories. ABBA forever. ❤️
ABBA is clearly the best group that has ever existed. Love their music. I was 11 years old when they broke through with waterloo in 1974. They are clearly the world's best group ever on our planet. Their music brings many fond childhood memories to life. Hugs from Sweden
Your double reaction to the two new ABBA songs reaching 100,000 views and more than 1000 comments In these last two weeks many 'opportunists' appeared to make reactions to the two new ABBA songs (some are even pathetic and appear to get excited) That is why it is fair to emphasize that You were always faithful and convincing, and that double reaction was also true and Your surprise and emotion showed, that is why there are many of us who follow you here and you deserve it Big and strong hug from my city and country, Buenos Aires (Argentina)
In this time of despair for the last 18 months, it's nice to have a a smile and dance again. I knew abba would come out with absolutely unremarkable songs and they haven't dissapointed. As a 53 year old man and an avid ABBA fan, i was crying when i heard the songs. ABBA...we still have faith in you and we'll never shut you down.
When you consider their ages now, 40 years passing since they recorded together, these songs are even more masterful. Abba don't conform to trends but write and sing what feels right to them. Both songs are a self reflection. Beautifully sang, perfect production and excellent lyrics. The Abba sound is very much there. These voices belong together. Frida songs lead on I Still Have Faith In You Agnetha on Don't Shut Me Down I 💘 you Abba. The world needed you back
Yes, I thought about Madonna and Gwen Stefani who have constantly ”reinvented” themselves and tried to ”be down with the kids”, trying to look like 20 at 50 and 60, and This is way more touching and interesting to me, where they embrace their experience and wisdom and the music becomes stronger because of that, instead of only trying to look and sound young.
ABBA just showed everyone how it's done. After these years of misery and ugliness in the world, this is a bright , shining , joyful statement. They're back. And these two songs are their love letter to the fans old and yet to be. Welcome back. And yes, I'm crying.
Both songs are absolute perfection. I Still Have Faith In You is written by Bjorn in respect of how the group still feel about each other as humans and musicians. 'Dont Shut Me Down' is also pretty autobiographical. Its about Agnetha's return to ABBA, a sort of saying goodbye to her human form and becoming an ABBAtar. Extremely clever lyrics from Bjorn. Bennys production values and musicianship is perfect for whatever genre he's dabbling in but when these four work together, theres magic.Frida voice on I Still Have Faith is pristine and once those girls start harmonising, it blows my mind. These songs are as unique as every other song they have ever done. I am so proud of these 4 humble, non-egotistical human beings.I should also add well done Dereck, you're really starting to identify Agnetha and Fridas voices now :)
I am so impressed that so many of the reviewers, music producers, vocal coaches are all blown away. I remember ABBA when they were "new" (I was a teenager) and it makes me so happy that, in their 70s, they can reach across all the generations and still touch the hearts of all music lovers, no matter who they are or where they are. ABBA did, indeed, just save 2021.
I think it's been said that a lot of Abbas fans now are around my age, 19. Very young compared to the band members who are in their 70s. ABBA are unlike anything else
@@HomoErected This warms my heart deeply. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise - ABBA are timeless. So glad the younger generations can recognise great music, when they get a chance to hear it.
This is fresh Pop Music with real voices and real instruments coming out like a sunrise and let the boring autotune music world in the shadow. That's the reason, why ABBA music is forever timeless!
@@jasonfarrar4737 Benny would never accept that, he hates it and he said that many many times in some interviews. You can compare Agnetha's album "A" in 2013 - THERE you can hear A LOT OF autotune.
Here in the UK (and maybe elsewhere), virtually every poll over the years about 'Bands You Want To See Reform' has been topped by ABBA. And usually topped by far. What a stunning return. Those voices were simply made for one another.
@@resireg Not considered as Bonzo is sadly no longer with us. They have of course got back together and performed (terribly) at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and again (brilliantly) at the 02 Arena in London in 2007. Other groups listed have included The Jam, Pink Floyd, The Police, Oasis.
Likewise in Australia… we’re proud of helping launch ABBA out of (just) northern Europe to international greatness in 1975. We launched the revival with two iconic Aussie movies in 1992, and ABBA is still Australia’s favourite band. Fernando still tops the charts as Australia’s favourite pop song of all time.
YES! ABBA is back and this priceless sound is with real instruments, not computer generated music from a laptop and open source software! No other band, group, artist, etc has had such an influence upon millions and millions of people worldwide like ABBA has. Even those who are not fans, still enjoy an ABBA song when it's played in a movie. Their music brings such a positive uplifting emotional response to everyone, even with their sad lyrics, people get tears of joy. With the way things are today and all of the negativity no matter what direction you turn, their timing is impeccable! #ABBAisback is definitely what the world so badly needed!! In my humble opinion, ABBA has surpassed the Beatles as the all time greatest band ever. Longtime loyal fans are flooded with emotions and a sigh of relief from constantly wondering "will they ever get back together again?" And, it's safe to say ABBA will bridge the gap and bring on a new era of fans from the younger generation of people that are finally getting to experience them more than just via a video. If I was able to have the chance to say something directly to the members of ABBA, it would be "Not just thank you for the music, but thank you for giving us MORE music!"
Think of it this way: We get a Power Ballad and a DISCO song .. when's the last time you heard a disco song, honestly. As a rocker I would surely appreciate the reemergence of disco .. it's just so effin cool. Studio 54 man .. far out. ABBA sounds like no other band and I surely appreciate this injection of that long gone drug in my ears. Cheers 🍺
Your reaction is priceless. I often watch your channel, but I think your enthousiasm, your body language and your analysis have never been so spontaneous, so sincere, so enlightening. We didn't know how much we missed ABBA, their celestial harmonies, their underlying melancholy, their quietly heartbreaking lyrics, their soul-reaching melodies, their infectious way to bring joy...
I am 57 years old. That i still experience this is a gift.🎁🎉 Tears when they stopped and now when they come back after 40 years.😭 My feeling is that this will be a mega success.🌹💖
There are very few things worth waiting 40 years for......... This absolutely was. Filled with every classic Abba melody and hook. Could have been recorded in their heyday. Can you believe those voices are in their 70's...... stunning and beautiful. Im swimming on a nostalgia high now. I was 7 when they broke up, but I loved their music all my life. From when I was a teenager and they were very uncool they taught me all the emotions from love and regret, sadness to pure joy. Many people have commented the lyrics are about how they feel about each other, which is probably true, but in classic Abba style I believe they are also a direct message to their loyal fans, and I just want to say to you 4 beautiful humans.... Thank you for the music. How can I love you so much when we have never met, The songs you sang me taught me how, and that I won't forget
My Mom loved them and I listen to this and cry with happiness. She would have absuloot Loved this I hope she is above herring this and enjoying it as much as me.
The girls have still got it. The masters are back in the house and I've already ordered the vinyl album. The ABBA Arena is being built around ABBA's timeless music and never-before-seen concert blurring the lines between the physical and digital.
"I'm now and then combined" Great lyrics about renewing a relationship that encapsulate this whole experience. Still hard to believe this is happening. Thank you for the music!
ABBA. Thease four individuals are out of this world. They can do no wrong. I can't believe they have been away for some 40 years and their back. And they don't disappoint. The voices are still there and they sound fantastic. The two new tracks are fantastic I love both of them. Can't wait for the album.
Millions throughout the World have been waiting, hoping, praying for this moment, and now it's here it brings me to tears, at long, long last a return to REAL music, REAL voices. Many here are saying it's taking them back to their youth, me too. You can't compare ABBA to any other band, because nobody else compares to what ABBA provide, this is not about money, they don't need money, IT'S ABOUT MUSIC!!!!!!
A more than respectable comeback, considering it's been nearly 40 years since their last record .. Looking forward very much to their new album .. Should be wonderful listening !
Their voices are still great despite the years that have passed. We can hear the maturity in their voices but it’s still beautiful. The music is awesome. Way to go Benny and Björn! 👍
Omg it's almost as if the chorus of Don't Shut Me Down is them speaking directly to the fans So many great lines saying Yes we're back, we may seem different but we're still Abba so listen with an open mind. Love it!
So very fabulous! I felt like I did in my 20s when ABBA was last performing. Amazing music. So rich, lyrical, and beautiful. Happy disco-inspired and that ballad. I look forward to the album. I also applaud the high technical future virtual stage show with holographic images. Will be superb!
ABBA are one of a kind, no one can compare or reach the level of musicality that ABBA have been able got achieve. Rhythm, melodies, harmonies, lyrics and message are unlike a lot of today music. This has put a smile on my face, hurry 11/5.
Thanks for mentioning that! As soon as I heard these songs, I’ve been wowing at the new depths and layers Björn has achieved, in other comments I’ve made - and it’s great to see someone else notice them too! 👍🏻
I think what's so profound about these songs and ABBA itself is that they sort of give us a glimpse of a lifetime coming into full circle, something most of us on TH-cam will not probably experience for many more decades. And something very few, if any, groups of the past have either lived long enough or stayed together long enough to revelate on.
Don't shut me down: First time I heard this new masterpiece, particularly Agnetha's wonderful voice again, I literally thought for one minute: "Oh my God I have been time transferred back to the year 1976!" They all sound just a fantastic as in the seventies. Soo nice. What a Christmas gift from ABBA to all of us :) We are all very grateful to ABBA. And thank you Dereck for your always very nice comments to ABBA's melodies
As we are coming out of, dark times, ABBA comes out after 4 decades-two generations and they nailed it!! It’s amazing!!! It’s just what the world needed. They are still wonderful. It has brought me to 48 years ago when I was a closet fan because it wasn’t cool to like them. But that changed when Muriel’s Wedding came out. And then Mamma Mia and the rest is history. Now they are back and it’s on to the future with them. Thank you for the music and for giving it back to us. ABBA FOREVER!!!!!
Without a doubt, the same ABBA we have always loved...for me, never more so than now!!! I don't quite know why but, enjoying the new 2 songs...my eyes don't want to stay dry... What an incredible return, magical, beautiful, unlike any others!!! They still change up the song in classic ABBA-esque fashion, like only they can!!! 💜💜💜
I love both songs! They are all between 71 and 76 years old. Proud to be a Swede! It's a privilege listening to them and I am getting so emotional! Looking forward to November, 5th, when the album will be released! ❤🇸🇪🎶
When I heard that piano come in at 13:50, my heart leapt. 'Yes, they're back!' As a lifelong Abba fan, this feels emotional and took me right back to being younger again listening to this amazing group - those voices, those melodies, the instrumentation. What a great day!
I cried hearing this on the livestream...I saw them live in Sydney in 1977 and have loved them forever....so glad to still be alive for this blessing and cant wait for the new album
Yup. I am a proud swede now. After these shitty times we have had, getting ABBA back is a true Christmas gift. And those ABBAtars at the end makes me really exited for the show they will give us in May - 22
Being of Swedish heritage (parents both born in Sweden), it’s that accent that has always made ABBA just SO special to me! And hearing it now with their older voices, it’s even more so! 🥰🇸🇪
Abba getting back together to create magic again is a dream come true for me. I just hoped that there is a parallel universe where that would happen and I would witness it. But I never thought this version of me would get to enjoy it in this world. Thank you, ABBA, for bringing me joy over the years.
We swedes age good voice and facial features. No need for plastic lol .We are like a good wine. So good for you ABBA love both new songs. Dereck thanks for a good channel. Hugs from Sweden
Dereck, I have viewed your reaction to these 2 songs countless times. I love when you face the camera at 7:31 and flash that glorious smile. That joy is exactly what I experienced when I read that ABBA had reunited and produced new music after 40 years. I have been a fan since the mid 70s and never thought I would ever hear new songs from ABBA again. Even though I have all of their albums on vinyl (all original releases) and cds, I have enjoyed watching your reactions to the music that I have loved for so long. Watching yours and others first-time reactions to ABBA have given me a huge amount of joy and entertainment. Thank you!
They certainly know how to make a comeback…the campaign, the launch and then…the songs! This has to be the greatest comeback in musical history. It’s an event. It’s all perfect and the new sounds breathe new life into the world. Both songs showcase longevity and continued musical genius!
After all these years I cannot figure out why no one could ever have that sound. I have heard some groups give a Beach Boys sound or a Beatles kind of sound but none quite have the Abba sound. The only thing that ever came close for me was the one song by Ace of Base - Beautiful Life.
Frida's vocals are out there, raw and real, emotional and reflective, taking complete centre stage in I Still Have Faith in You. It's 2021, and ABBA has arrived.
I can't wait for the full album guys!🎉

I don’t know if other people feel this but I feel I’ve got my childhood back and I’m in the very best moments of the late 70s/early 80s and it’s very emotional. The first track is so very bittersweet and tugs at the heart, the second tells a hopeful story but is so upbeat and just joyous. I’ve cried way too much but they’re all tears of joy. Just an amazing, not comeback but continuation of the ABBA legend.
Beautifully put! I agree with all you said! 😘

I'm crying with you Tango
Me too..love them so much
Your counting down to the 5 nov me to.

@@gareth3152 I am in excellent company. Here is a tissue, my friend.
I still get goosebumps from the voices and the piano, it's like they were never gone.
I taped that concert on cassette to -and still have it!!
ABBA is here to tell the world "it's gonna be ok. We'll make it through this, together."
EXACTLT!!!! THIS IS REALLY A MESSAGE FOR ALL OF THE WORLD AND TO ALL OF US PEOPLE!!
This comment brought tears to my eyes! Yes, it's gonna be ok!
ABBA Number 1 of all time.
I was 17 when Dancing Queen came out in NewZealand. I am now 60 and crying bittersweet tears.
Such a great comment:)
This even emotional as a Norwegian too. ABBA was amazing and still is!
Bravo!!!!
Frida is an alt no mezzo anymore. She sings very low.
@@m.menneke8513 She has always been a mezzo-soprano.
Yes both Agnetha's and Frida's voices have changed but they still don't need auto tune. Please give credit where credit is due millions have waited years for this beautiful experience and it is always a treat to hear ABBA once again.
@@denplummer7191 they probably don't need auto tune, but they use it for sure. They also use tools to make their voice sound younger.
Same
Me too :)
I blubbered again watching this
Frida's voice has always envoked the perfect story telling and relfective quality. She nailed it folks, the Queen is back 👏 🔥
I was thinking the same thing! When Frida and Agnetha sing alone, you can hear how their voices have changed with age - they still sound wonderful, of course - but, bizarrely, when they're singing together on the chorus of "Don't Shut Me Down" they sound exactly like they did years ago. It's like the "third voice" is ageless!
if the earth doesn't fly around our ears, there will still be abba for generations, such a quality of singing and music must not be lost.
A 57 one cries too, mate....

i am a day man here in my 60s and of course cried like a baby when i first heard abba's new songs. it was like seeing an old friend or relative that i had not seen in 40 yrs. omg!!! i too had to pre-order the lp. i ended up with 3 lol one from the abba store on white vinyl. an exclusive orange vinyl from amazon and an exclusive from target on yellow with a diff cover than the original pressing.. also ordered faith on 45 vinyl and shut on cd single. which shipped last friday. cant wait to get the lps in nov will be my birthday present for me. whooo hoooo!
yup. tears here too.
10. 10. 10. 10.
My granddaughter is 14 and we took her to see Voyage. She loves them ❤
Brother I have just come across your channel, I'm 51 and loved Abba my whole life.
Agnetha and Frida have still got it, and Fridas' mezzo-soprano is still as sultry and smooth as ever ❤🔥
The legacy continues.
I listened to both tracks all day on a continuous loop!! I love them both!! So excited for that album!!

Your double reaction to the two new ABBA songs reaching 100,000 views and more than 1000 comments
In these last two weeks many 'opportunists' appeared to make reactions to the two new ABBA songs (some are even pathetic and appear to get excited)
That is why it is fair to emphasize that You were always faithful and convincing, and that double reaction was also true and Your surprise and emotion showed, that is why there are many of us who follow you here and you deserve it
Big and strong hug from my city and country, Buenos Aires (Argentina)
In this time of despair for the last 18 months, it's nice to have a a smile and dance again. I knew abba would come out with absolutely unremarkable songs and they haven't dissapointed. As a 53 year old man and an avid ABBA fan, i was crying when i heard the songs. ABBA...we still have faith in you and we'll never shut you down.

Such a pleasure and a thrill! To me it's not about making "hits". This is a GIFT! Enjoy what we love - Abba!
What a time to be alive
absolutely
When you consider their ages now, 40 years passing since they recorded together, these songs are even more masterful. Abba don't conform to trends but write and sing what feels right to them. Both songs are a self reflection. Beautifully sang, perfect production and excellent lyrics. The Abba sound is very much there. These voices belong together.
Frida songs lead on I Still Have Faith In You
Agnetha on Don't Shut Me Down
I 💘 you Abba. The world needed you back
Amen to that, right on point, perfectly stated..can only agree 100 procent.
@@marianorman6640 beautifully put 😊
ABBA just showed everyone how it's done. After these years of misery and ugliness in the world, this is a bright , shining , joyful statement. They're back. And these two songs are their love letter to the fans old and yet to be. Welcome back. And yes, I'm crying.
We all are ❤️
Both songs are absolute perfection.
ABBA SUPER..UNIQUE IN THE WORLD..
the Mozarts of the 20th century
I am so impressed that so many of the reviewers, music producers, vocal coaches are all blown away. I remember ABBA when they were "new" (I was a teenager) and it makes me so happy that, in their 70s, they can reach across all the generations and still touch the hearts of all music lovers, no matter who they are or where they are. ABBA did, indeed, just save 2021.
YES!!!! I was just commenting the same. Brilliant songwriting and performance pretty much transcends any boundary. I’m so glad that is universal.
@D M Thank you for telling. I didn't know that it was well greeted by all!
(Of course, I guessed that, but to know it!)
I think it's been said that a lot of Abbas fans now are around my age, 19. Very young compared to the band members who are in their 70s. ABBA are unlike anything else

They are wonderful but clearly using Autotune. Not a diss.
@@jasonfarrar4737 Benny would never accept that, he hates it and he said that many many times in some interviews. You can compare Agnetha's album "A" in 2013 - THERE you can hear A LOT OF autotune.
Autotune isn't inherently bad.
Here in the UK (and maybe elsewhere), virtually every poll over the years about 'Bands You Want To See Reform' has been topped by ABBA. And usually topped by far. What a stunning return. Those voices were simply made for one another.

I say its no coincidence that they have come back right now, the times we live in right now, they are giving hope where its needed! Love it!

The girls have still got it. The masters are back in the house and I've already ordered the vinyl album. The ABBA Arena is being built around ABBA's timeless music and never-before-seen concert blurring the lines between the physical and digital.
"I'm now and then combined"
Great lyrics about renewing a relationship that encapsulate this whole experience. Still hard to believe this is happening. Thank you for the music!
I also think it is a clever reference to their ABBAtars, which literally are them 'now and then, combined'.
God bless ABBA forever !!!!

The songs are pure ABBA and nothing has compared their sound. Both songs are brilliant, and the LYRICS !!!! Wow !!!!

Don't shut me down has entered the UK charts at number 9 - their first top 10 in 40 years I still have faith is in at 14.
It's very difficult to articulate how many of us feel, but your reaction is as true and genuine as the music. Abba. Timeless.

Love that they didn't lose their sound. You hear that and you know it's ABBA.
After all these years I cannot figure out why no one could ever have that sound. I have heard some groups give a Beach Boys sound or a Beatles kind of sound but none quite have the Abba sound. The only thing that ever came close for me was the one song by Ace of Base - Beautiful Life.
Aww bless you Dereck . You made tears come to my eyes when you became emotional. "They're back" 🥰🥰
Frida's vocals are out there, raw and real, emotional and reflective, taking complete centre stage in I Still Have Faith in You. It's 2021, and ABBA has arrived.
