    The punishment doesn’t fit the “crime”. 2 months suspension with no pay & sensitivity training is beyond over kill. & Julia Hart is an adult, she can be used to get heat just like anyone can. If Brodie Lee’s son is fair game, who’s an actual child, so is an 18 or 19 year old pro women’s wrestler

    • @ForeverKnightmare
      @ForeverKnightmare 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      That's one thing I don't understand, with Julia Hart how people are bringing up her age and saying how he shouldn't be making jokes like he did on her. Last time I checked she was part of his opponents and also he's a diss rapper gimmick so that's kind of par for the course? And like you said she's an adult and fellow wrestler so why is this a big deal.
      Also I'm not super familiar with the Sammy ordeal so I don't know if he was in-character or not, but Castor was doing his job and it wasn't even like this was some shoot comment he was cutting on her like I think Sammy was doing. This is actually more on the editor or even more on Tony Khan even though I don't think it should have even been a big deal anyway.

    Discrimination, harassment and sensitivity training is one of the core practices for addressing and preventing workplace harassment and discrimination and creating a culture of respect, civility and inclusion. Training employees and managers on what is and isn’t acceptable behavior, and what they can do to avoid different forms of discrimination, harassment and retaliation can also reduce the risk of costly complaints and violations that harm an organization’s reputation, recruiting and retention, productivity and bottom line.

    It seems like cancel culture just made its debut in AEW. It's a shame that people can not say anything due to the sensitivity of others.

    • @bobdonda
      @bobdonda 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fucking hate cancel culture but there is a right way and a wrong way to get heat. Look at Cena and others in WWE for trash talking/rap type of performances that were done right.
      Then consider an extreme example of the wrong way to get heat - a character coming out and saying America deserved 9/11, fuck the troops, women deserve rape, just horrible shit like that. Would it get a reaction, sure. But that reaction is "fuck that guy, I don't want to ever see him again" and "fuck this show, I'm not watching this anymore".
      Castor went too far in that direction by making fun of a molestation victim for having mental health issues, and bringing up the topic of rape with the Duke Lacrosse line. The Julia line was fine but it was one more crass thing being side by a guy who had gone a little too far. Whether you liked the promo or not, if he's getting "fuck this guy I'm changing the channel" heat instead of "fuck this guy I hope the babyface beats his ass" heat then it's just bad for business.
      Another mistake is that Castor went with three pretty edgy lines in a row. Cena or Rock knew better, if you're using those lines you only do one per promo and save it for the end. If Castor had done only one, people wouldn't have cared much and Tony Khan would just tell him "hey, tone it down a bit" if there even were any complaints. Castor went for too much at once.
      And last, the Duke Lacrosse line isn't even good. He's gonna treat Sydal like Duke Lacrosse? What does that mean, he's gonna make up false accusations about Sydal, get embarrassingly proven wrong, and then it's revealed that Castor is an attempted murderer and child abuser?

    1 - The rap was offensive, but mostly in a very corny try-hard way that a 15 year old would think is cool. The Duke lacrosse reference is dull & really outdated, regardless where the rap promo was performed, & the Biles line was in bad taste but also pretty dumb. The whole thing was bad & not worth the amount of headlines it's gotten.
    2 - The bigger story is Tony Khan weakly passing the buck AGAIN in a situation where a talent did/was involved in something foolish for a nationally televised promotion, & these are the moments when Khan conveniently acts like he has no control on what appears on the TV show he loves to take so much credit for.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to bring back those two eras in today's landscape. Society has changed, people get offended easier today and a lot of stuff in those eras haven't aged well at all. That's a big double standard as far as I'm concerned, jokes about raping women would get Cenk and Co in hot water with their funders and followers and rightly so, but a joke about a man getting raped is as you say apparently fine. The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
