I 100% agree with you when it comes to the number 1 spot since so many people put older entries in a series on a pedestal and just completly ignore newer entries even though they can sometimes be better then what came before. Hope you have a very happy Halloween BK!
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Since you're a Fire Emblem fan you need to know this. The Reason for Fate's sloppy story, is because the writers where trying to achieve too much with not enough time. Intelligents Systems had an idea for Fates to have three stories to appeal to everyone, but they realized that they didn't have enough writers. So they hired an outside writer, Shin Kibayashi was that writer. Intelligent Systems wanted Shin to write the outline for each pathway, what happened instead is that Shin wrote 500 pages for each pathway!!! Intelligent Systems knew this was too long so they cut the story into pieces without the writers permission and the fact the Nintendo demanded Fates come on the Fire Emblem Anniversary only made things worse. It's Sonic 06 all over again. Which resulted in this hilariously mess of a story. The good news this that there is a manga based on Fates that is a little better. Its called Fire Emblem If: the Crown of Niberlung. In the Manga, Corrin is not the main character and is female.
The number one actually made me feel really good, I way too often feel down about thinking the new stuff is actually really fun. It's pretty sad how just enjoying a game will get random strangers to insult my intelligence or call me a bootlicker.
10. Understandable. Personal preference on fighters is everything. 9. I don't Sonic much, so I can't say anything here. 8. Honestly, Mario Kart DS is the most fun I've had with friends compared to the other games. 7. I've only really played the Wii of that Gen, so I can't say much. 6. Ultimate has plenty of problems, and I think it's mostly because the hype buries it. Still love it though. 5. I remember always going to my friend's place to play the Wii U. Good times. 4. I've heard things, but Other M seems fine. 3. This one's an oddity, because nowadays Conquest being considered the best written of the three paths is generally agreed upon by most fans (even if that's not a very high bar). 2. THANK YOU, THANK YOU! AS A SKYWARD SWORD STAN, THIS MAKES ME VERY HAPPY! 1. I have to agree here. I feel people are overreacting way too much about Pokemon nowadays. I'm looking forward to Scarlet and Violet myself, even if they might not be a day 1 purchase for me.
A new Blazingknight video? It’s like Christmas came early… Earlier than what? They started Christmas at Halloween this year. Santa came to my house dressed as Dracula. That’s a certain reference to a game about busting ghosts for anyone curious. By the way love the Richter Belmont costume.
THANK YOU for the number 1 segment. I grew up with the series and it's been in my life since I was 4 years old. I do find at times the writing can get a little weak, and maybe there's something missing that I wish was there, but the magic has NEVER died for me. Each entry has it's charm for me, the side games I could spend hours on, and I will continue to support this series no matter what.
Ok, I absolutely despise Halloween with a burning passion, but this just helped me feel so much better after the garbage I dealt with today! I love the top three spots on this list! While I admit I’m one of those people who don’t like conquest, I will say that even though I haven’t played Zelda before I love the shipping dynamic in skyward sword and it’s one of my sister’s favorite Zelda games to date. And I’m so happy you feel so positive about Pokémon to this date! I loved Pokémon the most from gen 5 onwards, but can understand that not every game is perfect. That said not every game is trash and really that just comes from what generation you started in, for me that was gen 3, no regrets. I’ve loved just about every Pokémon game I’ve played to this date and can not wait for scarlet and violet next month! Thank you for another masterpiece countdown video to brighten my day!
Dude I agree with you on Skyward Sword and I’m tired of it not being recognized. Yeah it has its flaws but it legit has best swordplay, bosses, puzzles, dungeons, world as a dungeon, items, sidequests in the series along with a great story. Yes it’s linear and it has sone minor filler issues or Atleast pacing issues that can be improved upon but imo it’s an 11/10 game. I defend this game to this day because it’s a gem and a masterpiece. I also agree overall with most of your opinions especially hard on the WiiU!
I beg to differ about Pokemon never being challenging, if you've played Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, take a shot every time one of your Pokemon faints, you will die of alcohol poisoning before even it to Ultra Necrozma, & to this day I still don't have a consistent strategy against Totem Marowak & I usually pick Popplio
Personally, I actually agree with a few of these (particularly the ones about Pokémon and Skyward Sword) and the others I either can’t speak for (for example I’ve never played Tekken and thus can’t really form an opinion) or I understand the opinion despite disagreeing (like with the Xbox 360 or Mario Kart). Great video as always, looking forward to future countdowns!
For Controversial Opinions…I can concur with most of these especially on Number 1. 1st: Love the new look & cosplay amigo! 2nd: With exception of Sonic, Mario Kart DS tho that’s not something up in arms more like a huh neat similar to Ultimate, & Conquest having the best script for what’s it worth mainly because Rev has my favorite ending. But the rest I concur or understand especially with Number 1 being a breath of fresh air for me. No joke: Gen 8 is my third favorite Gen. Fantastic Job! Keep It Up Mate!
A very spooky and interesting list! How about I give brief reviews on each entry to share my thoughts on these "controversial takes"? 10: I've had my Tekken experience with a Tekken 3 demo years ago, but I still prefer Smash Bros. 9: While I still have yet to play Secret Rings, I still think Black Knight is a good time. 8: So many memories playing Mario Kart DS. I guess I can agree with you on that. 7: I was mainly a Nintendo kid during that era, but I can see the strengths for the 360. 6: I certainly had a lot fun with Smash 4 back in the day, but I still prefer Ultimate as my favorite Smash game. 5: It's thanks to the Wii U I got to try so many games I couldn't before as well as having some good exclusives to boot. 4: I still have yet to play Other M but from what I've seen, the gameplay does look fun. Story not so much. 3: Can't say much with this one. Only got Awakening and Fire Emblem Warriors on my Fire Emblem resume. 2: I'll agree with this one. Skyward Sword is indeed amazing! 1: Nice to see someone who shares my opinion about Pokemon on this scary internet. I've been enjoying the games ever since playing FireRed and I am so looking forward to Scarlet and Violet! Apologies for having this comment look long. I wanted to make it look nice.
Happy Halloween BlazingKnight. Stellar video, I always love controversial opinion videos, and for the most part, I agree with a bunch of yours. #10 - I only know the Mishima's. I don't really know any other characters in Tekken. #9 - The Secret Rings felt more like a Sonic game than the Black Knight. #6 - I had a lot more fun with Smash 4 than Ultimate. #5 - A lot of my Switch games are ports from the Wii U, which I already own. Money well spent. #3 - Fates (Birthright) was my first Fire Emblem game, and Conquest was my favorite story, because it has better writing. #1 - I haven't played much Pokemon recently, but I don't see the franchise stopping anytime soon. Here's hoping they bring back the Battle Frontier.
I know this video was done last year, but here’s my own gaming hot take: Revelations doesn’t deserve the hate it gets, in my personal opinion. Yes, Valla isn’t explored enough-though I feel saying it isn’t explored at all is a disservice. Yes, some of the deaths are so forced. Scarlet shouldn’t have died here, even if it gave us prime Fallen Hero material for FEH. Yes, some of Corrin’s decisions are downright BRAINDEAD. Even Ike, musclehead that he is, would scream at Corrin for some of these choices! But, and I cannot stress this enough, *IN MY PERSONAL OPINION,* Valla as a whole is an impressive sight, the maps and music are supa hot dragon FIYAH, and getting to see Sumeragi and Makoto again, as well as seeing Arete for the first time, corrupted or otherwise, lets me actually put some face to one of Nohr’s first ever queens, and seeing Sumeragi and Mikoto actually fight is a nice change of pace for me! Do I think these games are better than later games, or even some of the earlier games? *NOT EVEN BLOODY CLOSE!* But I DO feel Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation is better than some people give it credit for.
I agree. I can even say I like Fates as a whole, despite its flaws. I think one has to put themselves in Corrin's head a bit. Like when I played Birthright. The deaths of Lilith, Flora, Xander and Elise really stuck with me because I found myself thinking, they're just trying to do the right thing and stop the war with as few deaths as possible. And they fail. For me, the victory against Garon felt hollow because of the price that they had to pay. Just some of my musings on it. But I agree that while Fates does have a lot of flak coming to it, some of it isn't really deserved.
Pokemon has and will always be my favourite RPG series for better or worse (Although i still do believe that Generation 5 was the last gen to fell complete). Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, For all it's problem still manages to be a good game and hell i can even say that Gen 9 is so far looking to be my second favourite generation after generation 5. The one thing i can commend generations 6-8 for is Quality of Life imporvements like not grinding only one pokemon at a time.
Hello Blazing Knight! This has to be your most exquisite countdown video yet! Out of your 10 hot takes: I agree with the #1, 3, 4, 5, and to a lesser extent #10. Regarding #1, I've had a blast playing the Galar games and Legends Arceus is, pardon the subtle pun, God tier! A bit unrelated, but I find Gen 8 music to slap just as hard if not more than Gen 5 (my overall favorite Pokemon gen). Keep up the phenomenal content, good sir!
@@anerdwithamic IKR? Peony's battle theme, Hop's final battle theme, and Eternatus (all 3 phases especially the final) are bangers I can list off the top of my head.
first off: BY MILLA'S GRACE ThAT ThUMBNAIL IS GORGIOUS!!! second: weird idea for a future video (If you haven't made it already) but it kinda popped into my head. Top whatever amount of favorite arch-a-types in fire emblem. As I am VERY new to fire emblem (I have only played birthright, awakening, echoes, and a bit of sacred stones) I think this count don idea would be both fun for you, and informative to new players, plus if you wanted you could say who is your favorite for each arch-a-type. Just a idea I thought I'd throw out there.
My hot takes: 1: I agree with your number 1 HEAVILY. As a long-time series fan, I've been aware of the series strengths and faults and tend to scratch my head when some say that Gen 6-8 suck and can never match 1-5. 2: Sonic is nowhere near a bad series. Yes, Sonic has stinkers once in a while, but doesn't every series? Also, Adventure, Adventure 2, Unleashed, and Lost World are great! We also can't forget that classic Sonic had stinkers like Sonic Spinball and 3D Blast 3: I can't get into fighting games other than Smash.
31:04 I know some bits and pieces of the Story for M and taking orders from old commander, I'm just more interested in gameplay for Other M after seeing a random Nintendo video on Ye Olde Nintendo Channel. Only controller being on the Wiimote where you control in a 3D Land scape and switching to aiming on the TV.
My own hot takes: 10) I only played Tekken 5 back when I was a kid. I'm more of a Blazblue kind of guy too anyway. 9) Both needed a lot more time in the oven, and yes, I also pray for a remake. 8) Mario Cart DS was my childhood. Explains why the other games didn't feel the same for me. 7) Missed out on the 7th gen console war because my family was too poor for it. My first home console was a Switch. 6) I only played Melee, Brawl and 3DS. Never got into Ultimate because I was suffering from a depression to give a damn. 5) WiiU and I have a "look but don't touch"-relationship. Wonderful 101 was my object of adoration for me. 4) No comment. Never got into Metroid, although Fusion is my object of adoration and praise. 3) The whole reason why I never bothered with the Revelations DLC. Overpriced and underbaked. Conquest is best of the 3. 2) Skyward Sword was a brave step forward. Never played it myself, but it has my respect for doing its own thing. 1) Pokemon, unlike Kirby, needs to be looked at with sharper eyes to see that it's consistently good. Then again, the fact that Sakurai isn't there directly and Pokemon has gone on this long without his help just shows its staying power.
What if Robin (FE Awakening) was in Fodlan (Three Houses Game) after the events in Awakening and started a new life somewhere else please… also have Byleth be female version please
Alright a new countdown from Blazingknight! Can't wait to see what comes out here. Also, I love your cosplay! 10. Hey, I don't get into many fighting games in general. Smash bros is enough for me. 9. I do prefer Black Knight over Secret Rings, but I would not call Black Knight a fantastic game either. 8. I think Mario Kart 7 is the best in the series... and that says something! 7. I... think I actually agree with you... 6. *Urge to hate... rising* BK: Key word LOCALLY *fading* 5. If only people had more faith in it, am I right? 4. Story is crap, but the gameplay is solid... mostly 3. Yeah, I admit conquest is interesting but there are still plenty of flaws 2. I did manage to finish the remake on switch, and it was great 1. I agree with you, especially recently given legends arceus
10. I'm not good at fighting games but I really like to try them and I think I've played most of the popular franchises: SF, KOF, MK, Marvel series, Blazblue, etc... and I have to agree that Tekken and 3D fighting games are not that appealing to me for the sames reasons you explained. 6. The only thing Ultimate misses and it is not a perfect rating for me, is the single player content. I really miss the old classic and adventure modes. 4. Conquest is still the route where I have fonder memories. Yeah, some missions are super frustrating, but ironically I remember them the most above all the other routes. Also in my opinion, the endgame chapter feels truly epic. 1. Pokemon will never die or be replaced by another monster game, that's a thing even the haters should accept. My problem with last games are that they are doing the bare minimum, the games can still be fun and they have some neat ideas (the reason I liked Legends Arceus); but I think we cannot forgive the lack of a good presentation when we have in the same console games with less money that look better. It's the feeling they can do so much better but they won't do it. Overall a great video, I missed your tops so bad.
Pokémon can do no wrong in its defenders' eyes. Meanwhile the launch of Scarlet and Violet is embarrassing. No other franchise would get away with this. Sonic sure as hell didn't. Because everyone gives GF a free pass they'll continue to not care. Why should they? They make money either way.
Nice to see top 10 list from you again. I found this channel when you were making the monster hunter list videos. The fire emblem videos after those havent interested me
10. I tried out Soul Calibur 6 on the Playstation 4 earlier this year, but Smash Bros is the fighting game that I will usually prefer. 9. I've never been able to play Secret Rings or Black Knight, but I did catch a Let's Play of both by TH-camrs from years ago. Still can't really give an opinion about either game, though. 8. I bought a DS at a convention recently after going for 4 years without my own, and a few days ago I bought another copy of Mario Kart DS. I am starting to relive the nostalgia that I had with this game back in the early to mid-2010s. I like Mario Kart 7 as well but I prefer this one of the two. 7. Growing up, I had the NES to play on, followed by the SNES. And as much as I wanted to play a different game system, like the PS3 or Nintendo Wii, money was really hard to come by for my family. At least until last year, when we managed to buy a Nintendo Wii and a Playstation 4. 6. The only SB games I played were the original with a friend on their N64, and the 3DS and WiiU editions. I haven't played Ultimate yet, but I got loads of fun from the 3DS edition. And the other two that I previously mentioned were good for multiplayer. 5. Eh, I'll take the 3DS, but I agree that the WiiU probably should have come out sooner. Maybe before the DSi was revealed to the world, because the PS Vita didn't do very well, which would have allowed the WiiU to thrive, but live and learn, I suppose. 4. Never played Metroid, so no comments. 3. I watched Faerghast's support science videos, and he had to break Xander into two parts because the writers made him appear as if he was dealing with Multiple Personality Disorder. The Xander in the main story of all 3 pathways was the opposite of the Xander in his support conversations. But the only 3DS FE game that I played was Awakening, so can't say any more about Fates. 2. The only Zelda game I have played thus far was the 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time, so I can't really compare it to Skyward Sword or other Zelda games. 1. Not a big fan of Pokemon, but I can see why so many fans love the games. Also, the Pokemon seasons from the 2010s probably don't resonate well with fans who grew up during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Happy Halloween.
Guess I’ll throw my 2 cents in, getting rid of the National Dex was a good idea and will help Pokémon in the long run. The selection of what Pokémon get in mean the devs are focusing in on team structure and world building, and helps as the series sees more mons each Gen. Does it suck someone’s favorite could get left out? Yeah. But that gives the opportunity to find a new favorite.
Funny enough, my favorite games on the Xbox were actually the Viva Pinata series. Probably what got me started liking farming and life simulators, and EVERY SINGLE CREATURE was a pun.
My gaming opinions that are controversial according to my friends: 1.) Switch skyrim is tje best version thanks to portability 2.) EVERY Fire Emblem game on switch has been amazing, and tons of fun! This includes Tokyo mirage sessions and Engage. 3.) The ps5 has been a massive disappointment. Every time I played it was no fun or it crashed.
For number 1, I agree. Sometimes people just seem to keep their rose tinted glasses on at all times without ever bothering to look at a bigger picture. I can say as someone who's been a fan since the first games, they haven't aged well. I loved them as a kid, but I doubt I could ever go back to the original versions.
This was a great video. Watching this makes me want to really take a look at things from a different view. Your takes were pretty normal not rage inducing but pretty understandable from where you're coming from. I'm glad someone else has a connection to Pokemon X and Y the way I have. Pokemon X and Y was the first video game that I ever truly owned. I haven't been too enthusiastic about Pokemon since the 3ds era. I felt they released games too quickly and largely led to fatigue for me. After watching this video I might give Pokemon Sword a chance. Well even though I'm not much of a fan in recent years. Pokemon was a part of my childhood. When I played Pokemon Diamond and Black with my brother. I was amazed that a big world could be done on a small handheld. Sparking my interest in making things in unorthodox ways. BlazingKnight always keep your wits about yourself at all times. Next if you do tactical nuke you might as well embrace the Lysithea meme.
I was wondering if we'd ever get another top 10 from you. I have to agree with your number 1 pick. Now, I never grew up with Pokémon. I did play FireRed and LeafGreen, but I didn't start getting into it until Diamond. So, for me, I really have no nostalgia to cling to. Plus, I think some of the things they changed are great. I love in Brilliant Diamond how all of my party gets to share the EXP. I always hate grinding in RPGs, so anything to make leveling up my party that much easier is an improvement in my book. I also heard that some later entries show the Pokémon in the grass. In a game like this, I hate seeing the same random encounters just waiting for that one Pokémon I've yet to capture. I te you. It reminds me a lot of the whole Fire Emblem debate, where the classic fans hated the games post RD, and the newer fans put down the older games. It makes me wish we could all acknowledge a game's high points and low points. Of course, in the case of Fire Emblem just be thankful we still have a series to gripe about. By the way, great costume. Richter is my favorite Belmont. I actually just finished a playthrough of Symphony too.
It started really bad but over time became much better and has excellent backwards compatability, the fact the system makes old games perform better is fantastic.
That's a pretty safe opinion you have of the Storybook Sonic games. My hot take is that Unleashed is WAAAAAAY overpraised, and not that great, while having more toxic defenders than any other game in the series
I have noticed that Unleashed is being held in very high regard recently, and while I understand praise for certain aspects of the game, the whole thing is fundamentally flawed
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 At the risk of starting an argument, this includes you and your friends. I tried watching your Shadow the Hedgehog stream after you uploaded it to your other channel, but it got REALLY annoying quickly how you guys were constantly complaining about the game doing nearly everything wrong, including Shadow's quote at the beginning of Sky Troops being: "The worst line in video game history." When you guys brought up Unleashed I thought: "Oh great, you're some of THOSE people." Then of course, you bring up being able to replay stages you like in Unleashed, at which point someone else brings up a complaint about not liking the Werehog and how it and I think certain missions of Shadow take up a lot of their respective games. The last straw for me was when one of you said: "Yeah, but Unleashed is good!" Dismissing the criticisms someone was trying to give. The instant I heard that, I cut the video and didn't go back to it, so if I'm wrong about certain things, that's why. I don't think Shadow's game is an underrated masterpiece that people need to stop being hard on and should give another chance or whatever. In fact I agree with most criticisms people have of it(the controls feel very off, the story is absolutely ridiculous and makes no sense, yet you're supposed to restart from Westopolis 9 times to unlock the last story, which makes most of the story paths you've taken pointless, unlike the Adventure games and Heroes where it's mostly one story where you play from different perspectives, while being incredibly tedious, the actual writing is laughably terrible, some stages like The Doom, Lost Impact and Mad Matrix are awful, etc.) But my personal biggest issue is how prone the game is to crashing, which mostly comes from restarting stages too much, doing the Infinite Chaos Control Glitch, and when parts of the stage don't load in, causing you to fall to your death in either the sky or a pitch-black void. I also don't completely dislike Unleashed itself either. The Boost gameplay style itself I've certainly had fun with, even though I prefer SA1/2, The CGI Cutscenes are probably the best they've ever been in the series, the art direction and graphics are incredible and even have my favorite design of Sonic, even though I don't really like the human designs and the framerate tends to suffer, the soundtrack is top-tier quality and it was really cool that they took a variety of instruments from different cultures, and the concept of Eggmanland, or as the Wii/PS2 version calls it, Crimson Carnival, which I personally like better, is a pretty good idea as one big stage meant to push Sonic's abilities to their limits, although I think for its difficulty it should've been post-game content. But as a whole I'm sick of people downplaying the issues I and others have with Unleashed, and have seen tons of absolutely irritating comments like: "I don't understand why people don't like this game! They've all been brainwashed by IGN. SEGA just wanted to do something different, you hate change! It's your fault that you aren't using more combos for the Werehog, it's only a skill issue," and more countless times. Sorry if I don't see it as the Holy Grail of Sonic games blessed by God himself, sent down from the heavens to bring us salvation and forgive our sins, I tried to enjoy it like any other game I played, but was almost completely bored from start to finish, and I have issues with the story and characters which people are hellbent on defending. Shadow has given me plenty of enjoyment playing it over the years and it certainly had ambition behind it, even if the execution was completely butchered, and I refuse to call it completely terrible, especially when 06, Lost World and Boom exist, which I can't even enjoy ironically. I don't care what anyone thinks of me, my stance is firm and I'm not ashamed of it in the slightest. I resign myself to whatever comes from putting it out there, even to content creators like you that I've enjoyed watching. If I was wrong about anything I said about you and your friends, or you've changed your mind about any of it, then cool. I still appreciate how you're one of the actually few TH-camrs who doesn't only respond to comments if someone accidentally triggers you.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 Oh trust me Unleashed isn't the shining beacon of the sonic series, in fact I streamed the game on Twitch some time ago (all though those vids are gone now) and I didn't hold back when it came to what unleashed did wrong, especially concerning the werehog as well as the addressing some of the ridiculous counter points people have in trying to defend parts of the game. I'd still call it one of the better 3D sonic games but it's hardly Generations or Colours level of quality, but it's defo a good game.
@@AkameGaKillfan777 I HATE Sonic Colors so much, there is no Challenge, and the level design is blocky. I'll take Unleashed and Generations over Colors.
I agree with Number 6. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate should’ve had more replayability in the single player aspects. And getting rid of trophies was a bad idea.
@@TMX1138Here's the problem, Subspace from Brawl can't come back, because some characters like Chrom and Little Mac have terrible recovery's. Thus they won't be able to handle platforming very well. World of Light is much more friendlier to characters that are not good at platforming.
7:07 Yeah, the peanut "Huh?!" Is funny and accurate on my opinion, but I agree with secret rings being a bit better, although it's not as better in black knight to me.
well... i am sensing something about splatoon. I mean, it was a series that was born in the wiiu, it was almos written that it was going to fade into obscurity! And here we are with a third entry and being one of nintendo's most popular franchises. I am quite surprised it was not mentioned in your wiiu section.
MARIOKART DS! :D I'm not great at Kart racing games, but when I got that game back in 2007 I had so much fun with it. I love the track designs, the karts, the character choices, and the soundtrack. I strongly disagree with you about Fates, or at least the things you hate about it don't bother me quite so much! It's a flawed game for sure, but it was fun. 100% agree with you about Pokemon, though. There's something to love about every generation and which games people find "the best" are just a matter of preference and possibly nostalgia goggles. The franchise is doing just fine, the new games are just as good as the old ones, and I'm very much looking forward to playing Scarlet when it finally drops.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Yeah, the writing on all three routes has its issues. (Like as much as Revelation is my favorite path, I don't understand HOW we only find out about Gunther's past near the end of it instead of in his damn supports). It was kinda like how Radiant Dawn tried to cram too much story into one game and got tangled - compared to Three Houses you can tell Fates was their first "your choice affects the outcome and you get an entirely different story" game.
@@Lynn17 The Reason for Fate's sloppy story, is because the writers where trying to achieve too much with not enough time.
Wow. Did not expect #1. Genuinely, I agree with most of your comments on that front. I disagree on Skyward Sword. Skyward Sword is okay, but it's positives are completely overshadowed by its negatives. Keep in mind I have a friend who debates with me that Skyward Sword is the second best Zelda behind BotW. My issues with SS come down to 5 problems. 1. Lack of world building (both in the upperworld and the surface) makes the game seem unfinished, especially when you visit the same areas repeatedly, and the only difference being that there may be different enemies than before. The Sky portion had very little to do besides Skyloft and unlike Wind Waker, the islands in the Sky were little more than areas that may have Goddess Chests that needed to be unlocked. 2. The good boss fights you only fight once, and the bad ones you have to fight multiple times. Koloktos and Moldarach were okay, but the fact I had to fight The Imprisoned 3 times (6 times if you count getting the Hylian Shield) is honestly appaling. 3. Poor Execution of sidequests - Sidequests I feel are something that should be easily accessible (not the rewards, just the start sequence), but some of these missions literally can't be started until a certain point in the game "just cause." And some of these could be done a lot easier and faster as well. A lot of the gratitude crystal quests fall into this category. 4. Silent Trials - Seriously, screw these things. I'm glad no Zelda game incorporated this (except BotW DLC kinda did this with the dumb One-hit Wand quest) ever again. 1. Motion Controls - Obvious is obvious. Motion Controls in this game were janky at best. Recalibrating every 30 seconds is not uncommon. And the fact that simple Bokoblins can take AGES to kill gets really old, really quick. Skyward Sword does have some saving graces. The upgrading system was fun, Groose is a sexy beast of a side character, and the music is easily top 3 in the series.
36:30 Thank you!!!!!! For as much as I like Azura, that is easily one of the biggest problems with the writing!!! Like, why can’t we just get more? Nothing in the story suggests we can’t do that. So get some more and show them to the other royals.
I find it kinda funny that the thing that made me raise my eyebrows the most was the quick mention of “Xenoblade Chronicles X” cause personally I have no liking for the game and regret buying it. I also don’t get why people hate the Crash of the titans game! I love it, I don’t connect it specifically as a crash game but I think it is really fun
5/10 of the list I agree with, especially Tekken and Secret rings. Though funnily enough the one I disagree with most is the Conquest one. This is a matter of the bad just pushing aside all the good the game has going for it. Garon as a whole just doesn't make sense, nobody should be following him except maybe Xander and possible Camilla. Leo is too smart and independent for that and Elise is too kind to take orders from him. Which makes 80% of the rest of the CQ cast not follow him either. Hell it makes no sense how the Awakening Trio would even listen considering the history of Ylisse. Corrin just constantly putting up with his orders over abd over again, not even having Camilla u til 2 chapters in to small some sense into him. From a character standpoint nobody should be listening yet they do. Constant terrible things are done, the Nohrian siblings just brush off like Hans Carrying Scarlets severed head on a spike(not sure eif that's true been awhile, but regardless his wrong doings should not be brushed off at all especially by Xander and Leo, whole the later killed a scummy mage for just kidnapping people to help them) Birthright is just a boring story, but itd at least written consistently. Everyone on your side acts in charcater, the decisions of Corrin male sense 80% of the time. And of course nobody is blindly following a clearly psycopathic king. Boring and consistent >> frustratingly annoying
That makes sense, conquest defo has some of the dumbest writing points, I simply prefer a story that tries something different even it if fails over predicable and boring even if the quality is more consistent, but it's a case of to each their own.
I appreciate this list and think you explained it very well. My hottest take is that Mighty No 9 is underrated. Yes, the Kickstarter debacle is a giant mess, but I feel that anger towards that is painting perception a bit too biased. The character designs are extremely memorable, the robot masters have more character and presence than just being obstacles to overcome, Dr White's moral ambiguity I thought was an interesting point I wish to see go further, and the gameplay was built for speedrunning. Plus if Mighty Gunvolt Burst is anything to go by, with a bit of recontextualizing this series could and should very well be saved from the swamp it finds itself in. Not to say that questionable hazard layouts, framerate, and presentation are fully excusable, but this series can benefit from a Megaman 2 to its Megaman 1.
Edit: sorry for the massive essay. I can get where you’re coming from with Black Knight, but I never found the pace breaking thing to be that much of an issue unless you have to stop for a villager or giant, which isn’t too often. The buzz saw attack where you shred through everything really helps to keep the pace going. I’m surprised you still have pacing issues assuming you know of that. Also, I was that kid who went for the post game of both games. Secret Rings is easily the far worst beast of the 2. Every single no Pearl and perfect challenge mission is just terrible because of the controls. Need I also mention how terrible rail grinding and the final boss are? The former is so shockingly unresponsive with switching rails that it’s so much better and easier if slower to just charge jump between rails. Of course, the game also doesn’t tell you that you’ll speed up when doing so, so I don’t blame many for thinking that. As for the latter, unless you’re swinging the remote as fast and hard as you can, I swear that the shaking is super unresponsive, especially when you’re actually attacking the boss. Not that black knight isn’t exempt from responsive problems (I swear the clash mechanic doesn’t work against the 3 knights bosses whenever I do it, but thankfully that’s a moot point since you never have to use that to defeat any of them), but I felt it was far worse in Secret Rings. While I can get why the soul surge thing bothers some people for reasons you stated, it never personally bothered me. Anyways, I’m surprised that you didn’t talk about the multiplayer for both games. It’s the 1 thing I’m expecting when people say SR is better than Black Knight- that while SR’s is just there, it’s still miles better than the garbage that is BK’s multiplayer. I mean, while I’m not personally a fan of the multiplayer since it’s basically a poor man’s Mario Party, it’s arguably better than the actual single player mode. Heck, if someone were to tell me they prefer the SR multiplayer mode over both single player modes of SR and BK, while I wouldn’t agree with it being better than BK, I’d at least understand better. As for the list of worst Sonic games you’ve shown, not gonna lie. While I’d rather play 06 and Shadow the Hedgehog, Rise of Lyric is the only one I’d probably play SR over. The other 3 are just around the same miserable quality as SR. Okay- I can’t speak for drift though since I’ve never played it. Heck, the only game gear games I’ve played are 8 bit Sonic 1 and 2. While I think 1 is decent, 2 is a game I despise even more than Secret Rings. Heck, that’s probably why Sonic 06 and Shadow are always the main focuses for bad Sonic games: because next to nobody played the game gear library which consists of primarily garbage with only a few gems like Triple Trouble and Tails Adventure. Heck, it’s probably why the Game Gear Sonic library isn’t torched more than it is- because few know that the games exist. Still, while I can sort of understand where you’re coming from with your complaints for Black Knight, personally, the controls for SR are so jank for me that none of the complements you gave really matter to me. Also, for visual spectacle, it’s cool the first few times, but then you notice that the game just litters them a lot more than most other 3D Sonic games. This is also coming from someone that doesn’t hate the idea of motion controls. I love Metroid Prime 3, the trilogy, Wii Sports Resort, and a few others. Secret Rings, to me, is just a pinnacle example of how not to use motion controls in platformers. Plus, there’s also the fact that development for the game started at least somewhere near the halfway point of Sonic 06’s development and yanked nearly half the team away. The cause of Sonic 06’s development hell can be traced back to the very existence of SR.
I will die on the hill that Conquest doesn't have good map design. You all just like it because it's hard for the sake of being hard. Imo a lot of it feels cheap.
If you want an example of cheap map design, go to Binding Blade. Fog of war and desert map anyone? You’ll change your mind if you haven’t done that already.
@@Superluigi881 so what do you define as a good challenge then? Where do you get that balance where it isn’t piss easy like 3 Houses pre maddening mode or too hard like 3 Houses maddening mode?
Guess I’ll put my hot take here. When it comes to modern Fire Emblem stories, not counting any spin offs like Heroes and Warriors, Silver Snow is probably my least favorite one of them all. Edit: anyways, for Mario Kart DS, I thought that was the popular opinion. Even though 8 Deluxe is my favorite, I wouldn’t argue with anyone saying DS is the best.
Hot take: Generation 5 sucks, because Team Plasma ended up being wannabe Team Rocket when Ghetsis revealed himself to be evil. Take him out, and Team Plasma would've been more compelling. And, it's a wannabe Generation 1. Seriously, look at most of those copycat Poke'mon.
9 I can see where you're coming from, and even though I personally don't like Secret Rings, it's not anywhere near the worst Sonic game of all time (Sonic and The Dark Brotherhood comes to mind). Yay!! You mentioned Tales! I wonder who you got that information from, hmmmm The Other M conundrum comes down to my hatred for the bad writing, but I will warrant that the puzzle solving and the set pieces are really good, but the Varis suit situation (where Adam keeps that shit under wraps until AFTER you make it through a bunch of lava) makes me want to commit atrocities. The number one I can certainly see where you're coming from, and I don't think that (every) newer game is great, but there are some very good games in that essence. A lot of it boils down to how big that franchise is and how loud the minority can be. Fantastic stuff as always, and I hope you enjoy your day and the rest of your week, BK!
Well there's you, there's Jay, there's bob, there's wolf I could go on lol Brotherhood is pretty damn miserable and yeah the varia suit stuff in other M makes me want to blow my brains out. Thanks very much and you too frog king!
That Fates Conquest opinion is the most common fates take I've ever heard. I know some people trashed on the stranger plot point but almost everyone praises it way more than the other 2.
@@projectmessiah The Reason for Fate's sloppy story, is because the writers where trying to achieve too much with not enough time. Its called Fire Emblem If: the Crown of Niberlung.
So if Ultimate isn't your #1 Smash game, then what rank would it be? My guess is #2 since for all your free-4-all criteria minus single player, online/multiplayer, and replayability, Ultimate presumably annihilates the other games in all remaining categories. Also, I assume your stance on being fine with people having different opinions than you on gaming applies to other forms of entertainment too? I only bring this up since admittedly the SW sequels jab did kind of sting to me as someone who likes 2/3 of those films. But I do get your overall point of highlighting the quality of Fates' writing.
Yeah I'm fine with that, I would be hypocritic if I had a go at others for thinking differently, and honestly I'm not sure regarding ultimate since I think that overall it would be 3rd or 2nd depending on preference, it's something I'd have to really think about.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Yeah just needed clarification on that. Thanks for the reply. And from what I saw in the video so far, my impression is that the Smash and Metroid takes would be the most controversial ones for others, whereas the other opinions may not be crucified as often.
47:40 he skipped gen 5 flaws, heard it here first BLAZINGKNIGHT thinks black/white(2) are perfect games. Also never heard of the Pokemon is dying argument before. Usually the videos I watch say something like "Pokemon is getting worse but it makes money so it need not get better".
I love Mario Kart DS it is my favorite game of all time and I played the heck out of it back in my days. I really wish it would approve the community but Mario Kart Wii surpassed the community and the custom track that makes it stronger
It's good to see that you're back to countdowns as always! Can't wait to watch! Be sure to check on me on Steam, old friend. Boyd the Reaver's looking forward to this video. ;)
While I don't agree with you about SSBU, You're reasons are valid. But My controversial opinion is Kirby Star Allies is the best Kirby game for multiple reasons. 1. It has the best lore in Kirby. 2. It has a lot of playable characters from other games. 3. It has the most Abilities. And more. But the it's flaws are valid.
To Metroid Other M, I will say, in terms of gameplay, it seems at least decent, but even if we're talking about story, having seen videos on how the original japanese script is, it's more that its localization was butchered than the story itself actually being bad... and part of it is just the result of weird/wrong localization-decisions being made in the past. That... sadly doesn't apply to Fates' story, from what I've heard, but I do think people are more harsh on all of Fates' story than it actually deserves. Yeah, it fails ultimately on execution, but it does have a lot of good elements with a lot of potential... and all of this can be credited to how the story came to be, being commissioned from a novel writer, but they didn't take the limits of a game into account, so a bunch of it had to be rewritten or straight up cut to fit. Also 100% agree on Pokemon, honestly, it's just parts of the fanbase that's absolutely toxic and blinded by their own skyhigh expectations AND lack of understanding of videogame-development and -design. Edit: Honestly, the bigger hot-take there seems like it's implying that Battle Revolution is bad. People seem to have loved it.
Notice how he didn't have anything bad to say about gen 5 when discussing the downsides of each gen. Another win for the best pokemon game. Also Lusamine being the best antagonist should of honestly been number 0 on the list or something cause that honestly surprised me (That take implys she is better than N might I add)
My 5 gaming hot takes in no particular order: 1. Persona 5 is vastly inferior to Persona 3 & Persona 4. P5 is one of my biggest disappointments. 2. Fire Emblem Fates will always be my favorite Fire Emblem game. 3. Mario Party 9 & 10 are fine games that deserve to be praised on the same level as the N64 & GameCube entries and Superstars. 4. Super Smash Bros. Melee gets my nod for "the Overrated Game on the Planet." I won't deny Melee's strong points and it's fun for what it is. Being the gold standard of Smash though? Hard disagree. 5. Paper Mario Color Splash and The Origami King are great games that are on par with The Thousand Year Door. Let's see how many feathers I ruffled for saying those.
I can get P5 not being as good as 3 to some, but 4? 4 has Teddy, the worst character in all of Persona existence. Yes- even worse than Morgana. Heck, 4 even tends to laugh and ignore its own themes at times.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 If you want my full opinion, Panoots has a really good video on Nuts and Bolts, but long story short it's a fantastic game, but not a good Banjo Kazooie game. If the banjo name was removed it'd probably be on everyone's "Most underrated games" on the 360, because it's a potential cult classic without the name. As for the 360 as a whole, it's probably my 5th favorite console. Behind GBA, Switch, Gamecube, and PS2 as 4, 3, 2, and 1. The thing I praise the 360 the most for is actually the XBLA essentially bringing indie gaming into the mainstream. Keep in mind before steam, the XBLA was THE spot for classic indie games like Braid or Castle Crashers.
In terms of video game hot takes, perhaps the most hot takes I can give are on Three Houses. Specifically, I find Ashe and Marianne overrated ONLY in Houses. In Houses, Ashe is too simple and nice for my liking (I prefer complex characters), and Marianne was too passive for my liking and was not multidimensional enough in my eyes (Bernadetta does better in my eyes than Marianne in Houses). Fortunately, Hopes does justice to them and fixes the issues I have with them in Houses. Ashe is properly challenged such as in his Yuri support, and Marianne is more proactive in her growth such as in her Shez supports. Hence, why I consider Ashe and Marianne overrated only in Houses, not Hopes.
Hi remember me I made the old tribute I'm Seth and I'm making Xenomon outside fighter as well as some other series just letting you where am at right now I know that I have a long way to go before I get the job I want making stories and I know I have to be realistic about the situation and what my goals are for the Xenomon series as much as I want to a Xenomon crossover it just not likely right now or ever my brain is changing the story and figure out what is possible like example the first Xenomon heroes in time is the origin story for lucy the stories are from tv shows a baby name lucy Xenomon lucy in kindergarten Xenomon lucy in preschool Xenomon lucy and friends and lucy of Africa and lucy of the forest
Top 10 "CONTROVERSIAL" gaming opinions I skipped 90% of this video because of how little I cared about the topic, the game, or the fact it was just personal taste. Like I don't think there's much controversy in saying Tekken is not a game I personally enjoy.
Personally, regarding Pokemon Gen 7, I'll say this: Story-wise, I agree that Sun and Moon handled it better than the Ultra games, as the changes to Lusamine's character can be a bit alienating, Though I personally feel that it's not TOO bad of a flaw... However! If we're talking mainly gameplay, I prefer playing the Ultra games for several reasons that make playing the original versions ANNOYING in several ways: - First, some Pokémon were a NIGHTMARE to evolve! And by that, I mean that you had to wait until LATE GAME to evolve Pokémon you could get very early like Crabrawler and Charjabug (Mount Lanakila, AKA VICTORY ROAD'S ENTRANCE for Crabrawler, and VAST PONI CANYON for Vikavolt)! It was thankfully fixed in the Ultra games, where you can evolve these two in Ula Ula by making the entrance of Mount Lanakila accessible for Crabrawler and turning the Geothermal plant into the location for evolving Charjabug (And other Pokémon like Magneton and Nosepass as well), BEFORE you get to Poni Island. - The early game in Sun and Moon was INFAMOUS for being VERY slow-paced and long compared to the early game of previous generations. Ultra Sun actually made it go at a faster pace, even giving you the starter earlier. And while the way you got them in Sun was neat in regards to the story, there's no denying that the start of the journey makes it HARDER to replay the originals. - Because the Move Relearner was placed AT THE POKEMON LEAGUE'S POKEMON CENTER (You know... BEFORE the Elite Four and Champion?), learning moves through means other than Level ups and TMs was trickier. In the Ultra Games, while they unfortunately DIDN'T change the the move Relearner's location, Move tutors were added in the Beaches for Mantine Surf, which helps for tweaking the Pokémon's movesets. Plus, all you needed to learn them were Battle Points, which are EASY to come by. - And then there's stuff you'd expect from Sister titles: More Pokémon added for you to catch in the roster, Mantine Surf is an alright distraction, and while the story stumbled in places... Ultra Necrozma was one heck of a final fight for the main story. There's also the Ultra Wormhole if you want to go Ultra Beast hunting, and the Rainbow Rocket Episode... But I haven't tried those yet. But hey, kicking the arse of Giovanni and his merry band of Villain leaders sounds like some fun.
Hmmm....gaming hottakes.....wary well lets go. Sonic Unleashed is acually a realy fun game, sure the night stages can be a bit slow and tedious but I think the wonderful Grafics and music make up fore it and I acually enjoy the Night levels a lot. Sephirot is a overhyped villian and is in acuallity boring as fuck. Hes an asshole with mummy issues throwing a temper tantrum and he dosnt have realy a personality, as you BARLEY even see ore interact with the guy. Breath of the Wild is far better then Tears of the Kingdom, tears just....dosnt realy do it fore me, by no means a bad game but it dosnt grab me nearley as much as BOtW did. Hyrule Warrios is the best Warriors game, and I argue should be canon in the Zelda timline And hers probably my biggest hot take......Sonic R is a fun game. Its not good. But its fun
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Ive played Sonic R a lot when I was a kids on the Gems collection. And I fucking love it. Yes as a racing game it kinda is a pile of poop...but the graphics just have a certin charm too them, collecting the coins and Chaos Emerelds is legit fun....and the fucking music! Oh its brilliant! The entirtey of the Sonic Gems collection is just pure nostalgia fore me.
My gaming hot takes: Starfox Adventures is good. Each fighitng game, especially if made by one of the bigger companies, NEEDS to have somewhat decent singleplayer (at least an arcade mode with rival battles and endings as well as some fun (and halfway lenghty) secondary mode) Classic Megaman >>>>> Megaman X (specifically because of all the armor/heart tanks collection in X. I was never a fan of backtracking and having to replay levels in platformers, or having to look up guides/running around aimlessly).
I consider Kingdom Hearts 3 to NOT be the worst in the series at all. That's my hot take and probably, my most controversial one. I just don't agree with why it's bad. I played every single game in the series and tried to understand the story and while it was confusing to understand everything, I was able to make sense of it to some degree. I think it has the best combat in the series, I don't mind the levels being big, Arendelle is not the worst level ever (though in my opinion, the weakest level in the game), don't really find the dialogue cringey, especially coming from Sora's mouth, and the last stretch of the game is really good... for the most part. I do like it but it does have its flaws. The story at times feel slowly paced, Riku sounds boring in KH3 (even though I really love him), AI party members are the not best, and Kairi was done dirty. She had potential but they messed up in the end. She was redeemed a bit in Re Mind but she still has a long way to go to being a good character. I still believe she has a chance despite it all. In the end, every Kingdom Hearts games have their share of flaws but I still enjoy the series and I'm looking forward to Kingdom Hearts 4 and onwards to see where the story will go from there.
I dont FULLY agree with Number 1. There are some things the old games DID make better. Exploration, Pokemon sprites as the 3D Models often look WARY boring and overall I thinj Pokemon just looks better in a 2D Art Style. Howewer I also agree most fans are exaggerating how bad the new games are....ALTAUGH Scarlet and Violet realy are somthing that cant be allowed too be repeatet with all its bugs and other issues. Content wise SV is probably the best Pokemon game....its the technical stuff thats failing it
I agree Skyward sword was a good game. For a hot take: In Dragon Age, the Qunari are one of the only good factions in Thedas. Take a step back and look at all of the countries on that continent, they are the only ones with proper sanitation and public education. They lack a rigid caste system, don't enslave elves, make them live in ghettos, or strip people of their minds. The only reason players have as much freedom, in-game, is because the MCs are criminals or have world ending power. It's scary that the openly super authoritarian faction, where you don't even get a name, is one of the least horrible places to live.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 That's true, episode RR (with the evil teams) is very cool. I also like Hau's character development, Mantine surf, Ultra Necrozma, as well as enjoying general alola features like totem battles.
"The Xbox 360 was the best 7th gen system." AW, HELL NO! Two words: PAID ONLINE. A horrible precedent for even more bullshit monetization in an industry which is now over-monetized.

Ok, here are my unpopular opinions: I think Pokemon is fine, because it's still fun. Who cares about the story? I just want to train my Pokemon and maybe save the world and then challange the Pokemon league. Playing Pokemon is way more fun when you can do a good chunk of exploration. I loved exploring all the caves in Sinnoh, Johto and Unova. Those games are still my favorite in regards to exploration. I love Pokemon Ranger. I think Tokyo Mirage Sessions is better than 3 Houses! There! I said it! 3Houses is fine and all, but I'd rather play an Idol game instead of falling asleep while I try to strategize. I also think fates is better than 3 Houses! Fates gave you enough good stuff to have fun with, while 3Houses forces 5 hours of monastery down your throat and only 30 minutes of gameplay in regards to actual story battles. And I am hyped for Engage! I am happy Symphonia is getting another rerelease and I think modern games are great. But i only play JRPGs, so it's not like I really care. I hope Tales of the Abyss gets another remaster. Abyss was great. And Arise is a bad game! Fight me! I hate Alphen and want to punch him in his face. He got on my nerves so much near the end. I miss Abyss. At least Vesperia was fun. I am so excited for the Switch version of Symphonia.
We must have a completely different online experience with the Smash games, as Sm4sh was unplayable for me and combined with how extra defensive Sm4sh was, it was awful. Ultimate has rarely been awful for me. It’s far from ideal and it can still be frustrating, but it seems like a complete joke when you say Sm4sh had better online. Sure, maybe you like the lobby system or you got luckier with connections back then, but it feels really disingenuous to rank Ult’s online as worse than 4’s just because it’s more egregious for online to be worse for a modern game. Still, why are we paying for mediocre online😡
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Bad in the sense that we pay for it😡😡that’s honestly the only part that pisses me off the most It’s not like they can’t make it work, Monster Hunter Rise’s online is phenomenal
I 100% agree with you when it comes to the number 1 spot since so many people put older entries in a series on a pedestal and just completly ignore newer entries even though they can sometimes be better then what came before. Hope you have a very happy Halloween BK!

COMPLETELY AGREE on the Skyward Sword part. I don't see why it's so hated.
Also agree on Conquest. I'd say it's the least bad of the 3 routes too.
The number one actually made me feel really good, I way too often feel down about thinking the new stuff is actually really fun. It's pretty sad how just enjoying a game will get random strangers to insult my intelligence or call me a bootlicker.
Glad you feel the same about pokemon and yeah it's annoying when people act like that simply because you enjoy something.
It’s like Christmas came early…
Earlier than what? They started Christmas at Halloween this year. Santa came to my house dressed as Dracula.
That’s a certain reference to a game about busting ghosts for anyone curious. By the way love the Richter Belmont costume.
I love seeing you expand beyond FE videos, especially to such unique topics I scarcely see on youtube like this. :)
Thank you very much.
33:15 What is Kasara from?
Tales of Arise.
The magic has yet to fade and I'm glad you love the series so much since such a young age.
Necrozma is way stronger then the entire elite 4 and champion despite coming before them. That's just bad balancing.
Thanks very much.
Thank you very much.
7:42 *sees Sonic 06 as an option* Hey, at least that one got the fan fix treatment. Unless you mean the base game itself, then… fair.
It's all good I'm all about sharing opinions on this channel so yours is more than welcome.
Thanks very much glad you enjoyed it.
I know this video was done last year, but here’s my own gaming hot take:
Revelations doesn’t deserve the hate it gets, in my personal opinion.
Thank you ever so much.
The music in Gen 8 is soooo good!
Thanks very much and I have already done a video listing my favourite archetypes in the Fire Emblem series:
th-cam.com/video/amZQ3DMz74I/w-d-xo.html
My hot takes:
1: I agree with your number 1 HEAVILY.
We also can't forget that classic Sonic had stinkers like Sonic Spinball and 3D Blast
3: I can't get into fighting games other than Smash.
I’m literally in the middle of a lecture but sure why the hell not
This is written and produced fantastically. Deserves more views!
Thanks very much glad you enjoyed the video and for such positive feedback.
My own hot takes:
10) I only played Tekken 5 back when I was a kid.
Wait... Since when Sakarai help develop Pokemon games?
6. *Urge to hate... rising* BK: Key word LOCALLY *fading*
5. If only people had more faith in it, am I right?
4. Story is crap, but the gameplay is solid... mostly
3. Yeah, I admit conquest is interesting but there are still plenty of flaws
2. I did manage to finish the remake on switch, and it was great
1. I agree with you, especially recently given legends arceus
Thanks very much glad you liked the outfit.
I think BK is mediocre, but personally, I despise SR. Both are not exactly that good regardless though.
Glad you enjoyed the vid and thank you.
Aren't Legends Arceus and Let's Go mainline pokemon games?
Let's go maybe but Arceus is defo spin off.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 i've looked it up, arceus is considered mainline.
Fire emblem fates has good characters that is my controversial opinion. Also awakenings cast is boring besides a select few
My gaming opinions that are controversial according to my friends:
1.) Switch skyrim is tje best version thanks to portability
2.) EVERY Fire Emblem game on switch has been amazing, and tons of fun!
Same here, in fact I only like going back to gen 1 because of how mechanics like hyper beam and the combined special stat can be exploited.
Thanks very much glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you do enjoy pokemon when you jump back in.
What perfect timing and thank you very much
Hey blazingknight what do you think about the xbox one
It started really bad but over time became much better and has excellent backwards compatability, the fact the system makes old games perform better is fantastic.
I really dislike the matchmaking system for Ultimate's online because of GPS.
It's just plain terrible.
Yep

I don't mind the lack of trophies but yeah the poor single player I can't excuse.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 I hope if they do another SSB, more single player modes get added, as well as bringing back unlockables like trophies.
@@TMX1138 That would be ideal, they've pretty much perfect the roster so having stellar single player based around the cast would be perfect.
@@TMX1138Here's the problem, Subspace from Brawl can't come back, because some characters like Chrom and Little Mac have terrible recovery's. Thus they won't be able to handle platforming very well. World of Light is much more friendlier to characters that are not good at platforming.
@@orangeslash1667 What about Melee’s Adventure Mode? Same problem?
7:07
Yeah, the peanut "Huh?!" Is funny and accurate on my opinion, but I agree with secret rings being a bit better, although it's not as better in black knight to me.
well... i am sensing something about splatoon. I mean, it was a series that was born in the wiiu, it was almos written that it was going to fade into obscurity! And here we are with a third entry and being one of nintendo's most popular franchises. I am quite surprised it was not mentioned in your wiiu section.
I did mention splatoon, specifically that splatoon, mario maker and captain toad got started on the Wii U.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Had to do a double check. How did I missed that? but yeah you did mentioned splatoon. My bad.
Ah I remember finding about snaking accidently in mario kart just because I find it funny that R.O.B. look likes he's dancing.
Glad I’m not the only one who likes other M
That makes two of us.
Oh I enjoy Fates as a whole, in fact conquest ranks as my 4th fav FE game, it's just the writing that sucks across all three games.
@@orangeslash1667 Oh yeah! I forgot I watched Faerghast's video about Fates's development and this was mentioned.
@@Lynn17 Good.
Okay with the build up to Number 1 I was not expecting that and while I do agree with it for the most part.
36:30
Thank you!!!!!! For as much as I like Azura, that is easily one of the biggest problems with the writing!!! Like, why can’t we just get more? Nothing in the story suggests we can’t do that. So get some more and show them to the other royals.
Holy Toledo! What did Lewis say THIS time?
Nice Halloween costume :)
Thanks very much, twas my very first cosplay.
Constant terrible things are done, the Nohrian siblings just brush off like Hans Carrying Scarlets severed head on a spike(not sure eif that's true been awhile, but regardless his wrong doings should not be brushed off at all especially by Xander and Leo, whole the later killed a scummy mage for just kidnapping people to help them)
Birthright is just a boring story, but itd at least written consistently.
Personally I just like breaking the game with Powersaves and the Unit Logbook.
If you want an example of cheap map design, go to Binding Blade. Fog of war and desert map anyone? You’ll change your mind if you haven’t done that already.
@@Mojo1356 I've played that one too. I hate them both.
I wonder who you got that information from, hmmmm
The Other M conundrum comes down to my hatred for the bad writing, but I will warrant that the puzzle solving and the set pieces are really good, but the Varis suit situation (where Adam keeps that shit under wraps until AFTER you make it through a bunch of lava) makes me want to commit atrocities.
Well there's you, there's Jay, there's bob, there's wolf I could go on lol
Brotherhood is pretty damn miserable and yeah the varia suit stuff in other M makes me want to blow my brains out.
Thanks very much and you too frog king!
That Fates Conquest opinion is the most common fates take I've ever heard. I know some people trashed on the stranger plot point but almost everyone praises it way more than the other 2.
That's news to me, especially when the game first dropped it was nothing but hates for conquests story.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Honestly this may just be a perspective difference.
@@projectmessiah More than likely, probably steams from where we've interact with the community.
@@projectmessiah The Reason for Fate's sloppy story, is because the writers where trying to achieve too much with not enough time.
@@orangeslash1667 I was well aware of both things you mentioned but good job spreading the message I guess. The manga is indeed pretty good.
You'll be surprised how many think pokemon is failing in terms of quality and finance when the latter will never be a problem.
I love Mario Kart DS it is my favorite game of all time and I played the heck out of it back in my days. I really wish it would approve the community but Mario Kart Wii surpassed the community and the custom track that makes it stronger
do you still think Sonic and the Black Knight is better than the worst Sonic games?
Yes but it's only a mediocre sonic game at best.
Great vid as always!
My Hot take: Xenoblade 1 is a mid to low tier game
Now THAT is it a hot take, and thanks very much.
Xenoblade 1 remake is fine, but the original Wii looked so uninspired. I wished the game used Cell shading, but the Wii hardware is very limiting.
It's good to see that you're back to countdowns as always! Can't wait to watch!
Be sure to check on me on Steam, old friend. Boyd the Reaver's looking forward to this video. ;)
While I don't agree with you about SSBU, You're reasons are valid.
But My controversial opinion is
Kirby Star Allies is the best Kirby game for multiple reasons.
My 5 gaming hot takes in no particular order:
That last one is defo gonna trigger some people but it's great you enjoy them so much.
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 Mind if I share one more I remembered later?
Your relationship with Metroid Other M is basically how I feel towards Star Fox Zero.
I've heard that if you can get past the control scheme the game is great.
I can get P5 not being as good as 3 to some, but 4? 4 has Teddy, the worst character in all of Persona existence. Yes- even worse than Morgana. Heck, 4 even tends to laugh and ignore its own themes at times.
My opinion of Nuts and Bolts is the same as your opinion on Other M.
Well it's good that even generally hated games have their fans.
Here's my biggest one I think every Digimon game is better than Pokémon game
Hi remember me I made the old tribute I'm Seth and I'm making Xenomon outside fighter as well as some other series just letting you where am at right now I know that I have a long way to go before I get the job I want making stories and I know I have to be realistic about the situation and what my goals are for the Xenomon series as much as I want to a Xenomon crossover it just not likely right now or ever my brain is changing the story and figure out what is possible like example the first Xenomon heroes in time is the origin story for lucy the stories are from tv shows a baby name lucy Xenomon lucy in kindergarten
Xenomon lucy in preschool Xenomon lucy and friends and lucy of Africa and lucy of the forest
Top 10 "CONTROVERSIAL" gaming opinions
I skipped 90% of this video because of how little I cared about the topic, the game, or the fact it was just personal taste.
Like I don't think there's much controversy in saying Tekken is not a game I personally enjoy.
Happy Halloween to u. *clap for u-
Personally, regarding Pokemon Gen 7, I'll say this: Story-wise, I agree that Sun and Moon handled it better than the Ultra games, as the changes to Lusamine's character can be a bit alienating, Though I personally feel that it's not TOO bad of a flaw... However! If we're talking mainly gameplay, I prefer playing the Ultra games for several reasons that make playing the original versions ANNOYING in several ways:
- First, some Pokémon were a NIGHTMARE to evolve!
Hyrule Warrios is the best Warriors game, and I argue should be canon in the Zelda timline
And hers probably my biggest hot take......Sonic R is a fun game. Its not good. But its fun
I have so much nostalgia and love for Sonic R. I wish they did something like that again using the boost engine.
My gaming hot takes:
Starfox Adventures is good.
Each fighitng game, especially if made by one of the bigger companies, NEEDS to have somewhat decent singleplayer (at least an arcade mode with rival battles and endings as well as some fun (and halfway lenghty) secondary mode)
Classic Megaman >>>>> Megaman X (specifically because of all the armor/heart tanks collection in X. I was never a fan of backtracking and having to replay levels in platformers, or having to look up guides/running around aimlessly).
I would love it if more companies put more emphasis on single player in fighting games back in the day they actually did.
Honestly these were pretty tame takes tbh
Since we're all gonna die, I did not care for the Chao Garden.
I assume this applies to both Sonic Adventure games?
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 pretty much.
That’s not a hot take. A hot take would be to say it isn’t either of the 2 DS games.
Honestly while Fates is not exactly a stellar game, I still love Fates and I agree that Conquest is the best path.
Content wise SV is probably the best Pokemon game....its the technical stuff thats failing it
I 100% agree that pokemon looks better when it's sprite based, gen 5 was peak pokemon presentation.
i agree with super smash bro ultimate
I will vehemently disagree on the Pokémon thing. But I won’t take away your love of the recent games.
As long as it makes someone happy.
My controversial gaming opinion: USUM are my favorite Pokémon games.
Nice, I heard the stuff with all the evil teams is pretty cool
@@BLAZINGKNIGHT50 That's true, episode RR (with the evil teams) is very cool. I also like Hau's character development, Mantine surf, Ultra Necrozma, as well as enjoying general alola features like totem battles.

Ok, here are my unpopular opinions:
I think Pokemon is fine, because it's still fun.
Ugh, the "Who cares about the story," schlock
