Jesse is a momentum player. When things don't go his way he kinda throws in the towel. He may have improved in that area as this match was a long time ago.
I started playing on 9 footers but after hurting my shooting shoulder I was forced to play on bartables. Less distance equals less strain. Now my shoulder is pretty good, but I've developed a love for the small box. I love having to work with less space and work with more clusters. It is easier to run out on a barbox, but keep in mind the two players in this video are probably in the top 3 barbox players in the country, if not top 2. Jesse obviously wasn't in top form here.
Game 2 was conceded with the 9 ball yet to make, game 3 was conceded with the 8 and 9 ball left to make, game 11 was conceded with the 7, 8 and 9 left on the table. This is part of the reason that the game of “pool” or “Billiards” is not accepted as a “professional” sport in the advertising community. So much more money would come to big tournaments if the players would all agree to just finish out all the way through the 9 ball in every game. There is no reason to “concede” anything. A high profile amateur or professional player should always finish the game. Just like golf, any organized event does not recognize the “gimme”, you must hole out. It’s in the rules to pocket the 9 for the win. If the players don’t take the rules of the game seriously, how can they expect major sponsors outside of the pool community (Budweiser, Coca Cola, Insurance Companies, Pepsi, Investment Companies) to take the sport seriously? With that, would come TV coverage and even more advertising, more money, more ability to grow the sport for these lifetime professionals. It has to start with having integrity in the game, showing respect for the rules. The game will always cycle in and out of popularity, as it has for 150 years, if it’s always played like it was in dads basement, or the downstairs dungeon bar, or the back of the college bar.
lol Sky’s fargo is over 800. This is a valley barbox table. He was prob 740ish back then. Making those money balls is like passing the salt for them- it’s automatic.
1:28:32 next level bridge technique

This is no longer the 80's. The Pros no longer dress up. Maybe some events, they still do. This was just a big annual bar tournament though.
this bartable shits for the kids everyone's running out nowadays 9' is where the talent has always been you gotta have real skill to play on that.
A real Player can play any size table. Money dosnt know size.
+Mark Jackson I couldn't possibly agree more. Great players have the skill set to adapt !!!!!!!!!!!!!

+Jd Clifford I would bet on my old buddy chip Compton over Jessie but I wouldn't hurry to place the bet.
craig howard Not after the way Chip played against Danny Smith last night. He's a monster player, though.
When I can see I'll play him anytime.
