    Great video man and my big connecter that plugs into the ford had a blue and white wire on it that yours did not have I just shrink wrapped the end like you did to the blue and orange wires and it works so hopefully that doesn’t mess anything up lol

    Might try some stronger hanger wire for this, thank you!

    Great video. Was able to get exact radio installed into 2007 Escape but the blacket bracket doesn’t want to full snap in. The bottom 2 sides dont want to snap.

    So did you need an antenna adapter and what did you hook the illumination light to?

    THANK YOU!!! My 2006 Escape Hybrid the radio works but the CD player does not. It already ate one of my CDs and I can't get it to eject. I'd like to upgrade to something with bluetooth at least like I had in my previous car. I will be looking through your links as soon as I confirm if I have the sub woofer in the trunk or not.

      Install is complete! Thank you for the links. The wiring harness for the non sub system and the dash insert fit perfectly. I ended up going with a Pyle system that has a flip out screen.

    • @chiwong1316
      @chiwong1316 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@The-Grateful-Hippie which Pyle model you got? And the dash plate, etc. When ordering through crutchfied, there's a note stating negative wire needing a relay for positive wiring. Not sure what that means. Is there a harness for plug and play, or you have to tap it yourself? Ty ty ty.

    • @The-Grateful-Hippie
      @The-Grateful-Hippie ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chiwong1316 I left a link this morning but looks like my comment is gone. Its the PLTS78DUB single din with a screen that slides out. Wiring was simple. Get the harness for the escape and match the colors up to the harness in the box with the stereo. I got a pack of heat shrink sodder connectors that sodder and seal in one step. My truck does not have the sub woofer in the back so I don't need a power reducer.

    I have a Mariner with the factory sub and amp. Crutchfield keeps warning me that I either need to replace my speakers or replace my amp if I want to use any kind of aftermarket radio. Did you have to do that with this install?

    Which clips on the metal sleeve did you have to bend to keep the unit in place? You mentioned having to do it but didnt show where.

  • @jimcooper7457
    @jimcooper7457 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So how did the back speaker sound after the install?
    And over all installing the new unit did it improve the sound quality?
    Asking because I'm about doing the same thing.
    Thinking about replacing the speakers later on.
    The sound before right now isn't that bad.
    Only replacing because the display brunt out.
    Any reply back would be a big help!!

    Tried the pins on my 2007 escape, no click, no catch and no movement at all. Clearly theres some missing info here that’s implied but not said which is really frustrating.

      I had an issue with it and it's not as easy as the video suggest especially the first time you're taking it out it can get a little stuck but you need to make and then like a pair of tongs either squeezed together or spread apart I can't remember to release the clips and then it can be pulled out

    I need your help I purchased the AFDI-5V but the problem I'm having is that it came with the cable one blue and white, the second cable is black, and the third cable is red and blue. Now my aftermarket radio does not have blue and white cable or the red and blue cable. What should I do since my aftermarket radio only has solid color 1yellow, 1black, 1red, 1green,1white, 1gray, and 1purple and 1 orange. The remainder cable 1black and gray, 1black and white, and 1black and purple. Can you help me to what should I connect the AFDI-5V FORD 5V STEP DOWN?

      I experienced this problem today, I solved it by wiggling them around real hard until they sank into the clips, the clips get real tight sometimes

      I just got done muscling it out with flat head screw drivers and breaking the 4 clips that hold it in place

    I have a 2005 Escape with the stock sub. I got an Alpine UTE-73BT everything went well until I put the radio in. It is in but nothing caught the radio where is secured. It looks good but you can pull it out anytime with ease. Do I need the iso mounting brackets?

      sounds like you've installed the metal can for the radio incorrectly. Hard to know without seeing your install, sorry.

      So I watched another video. Dude put the radio on the bottom and the pocket up top. Here in clicked right in. Idk? He said that’s how it goes. Maybe we had the metal can upside down? 😅

    Did you have problems with central locking and interior lights not working? I just did the same but it seems the interior lights have a feed in the original radio plug and I no longer have power to interior lights or central locking

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No issue at all. Sounds like you may have blown a fuse. Try reinstalling the original radio to see if that fixes the issue.

    Do you have to have the voltage converter?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not necessarily, and only an option if you have the factory sub. Base trim, not needed at all. This only prevents a POP noise in the factory sub. If you don't care, then it's not needed.
