Borderlands 3 is a game where if you dont pay attention to the story and focus purely on gameplay, its perfect.
Nah not for me. The gameplay is pretty much hold the trigger and win. Everyone except for flak has lifesteal so its stupid easy.
The problem is it’s too easy. Any experienced player could 1 life it on accident
@@feudalocean8428 I literally got a world drop hellwalker on my newest character at like level 15. I completely agree. Bl2 only becomes easy if you go out of your way to farm the best stuff. Even if you accidentally get a gub or something while doing side quests it won't auto win the game for you
@@CowKirbo yea Borderlands 1 has some very harsh scaling if you don’t know what you are doing, Borderlands 2 is easy at the start for anyone but endgame requires knowledge of metas and some raid bosses require even more. Borderlands 3 however has by far three easiest early and mid game, and while the endgame is harder than Borderlands 1, it’s still super easy.

Borderlands 1 is my favorite of all time. The weapon system is perfect and you can't get over the look of the original guns. They needed more legendaries and pearls when they remastered it along with the rareness of legendaries to increase a tad bit but in my opinion it's perfect. I grew up on one and 2 and they're my absolute favorite games in general (besides skyrim). But even with how they made revolvers and repeaters separate in the pistol category is just amazing. I mean you use different ammo for them but your skill increases with pistols in a whole. That I just can't get over. And the fact that they turned glitched guns that players as a community gave they're own names and gearbox actually used those names when they fixed them and made something out of them is just mind blowing.

BL2 nearly perfected the formula and they got into their groove
BL3 lost some key writers and the story suffered greatly, however, the game play formula has been perfected.
I don't know what they were smoking when they made TTW, but I did not enjoy the game play as much. The story was a bit better, if unimportant.
Wonderlands is peak in gameplay and didn't have as bad as a story compared to Borderlands 3
If they remade bl2 with bl3's gameplay and engine it would be fucking amazing.

@@dice1887it’s more then that. BL2 is so poorly balanced when it comes to OP levels and even UVHM. You need a perfectly optimised build to even have a chance and it makes the game less fun because you can’t use that gun you find fun anymore because it is outclassed
@@ne12follow defo agree with the OP levels, the scaling with them is beyond awful. UVHM doesn't require a handful of meta builds though. UVHM is generally okay but it's over reliance on slag is the big issue. If they went back and reworked it to be more inline with cryo in TPS I think it'd be perfect

I remember going to GameStop with my mom in 2010 and grabbing Borderlands off the shelf because I thought the cover art was cool, knew nothing about the game itself. Played it like it was crack for 2 years. And then Borderlands 2 was the first game I ever preordered, and played that like it was ultra-crack. I just love this series, good and bad times.

For me- I was at a GameStop almost PRECISELY one full year after original Borderlands’ release. Late October, 2010. I asked the employee for a recommended RPG/Shooter that is “wild, zany, wacky humor, leveling up character system and GREAT guns + action.” And that’s when he pulled the game off the shelf and I bought it! Instant addiction!! And the rest is history!!
I love those descriptor words lmao "crack and super crack" for me I just bought borderlands a week or two ago, beat it once already doing my TVHM playthrough, because my friend recommended it to me and I've been playing it nonstop

Yeah i played it after getting the entire borderlands series for 30 bucks and i was pretty disappointed. Like the times they weren't trying to be funny is when they were the funniest. Actually only L0u13 was funny.

i got a mod for bl3 that changes all the voices to japanese, it was odd hearing tyreen being voiced by lucoa.
but on a bright note, i couldn't understand a word ava was saying, which made it easier to ignore her, which made the game more enjoyable.

Part 2 and pre sequel just had the best character/ character arc ever in handsome jack. The villain you love, who also turns out to just be a deeply broken widower/father. Mesmerizing.

A true shame there are only 2 dlc's.

@@psaucy1254I fully agree with ya. personally I dont think "oxygen" should be the only reason people can give to trash talk a game as a whole. I love the air control, slamming, the way cryo works in tps over bl3, and absolutely love the skill tree design! and a fun theory to think about, obviously just a theory for fun: jack is the good guy, and his plan to kill the vault hunters was so they wouldn't stop jack from purging all the bandits on pandora (considering his original goal was to do so regardless how many innocent people died^^)
Its good in its own way. Personally I think it falls off hard halfway through and the character builds just arent that exciting until level 30.

Personally I don't feel empathy for Jack, since the beginning his plan was opening the vault and to do so, he manipulated our protagonist trough Angel in the first bl, Lilith seeking for revenge it's honestly something I would have thought normal
Love the story following Jack, Athena is my favorite playable character, having essentially a double jump with lower gravity as well as the slam made the combat and exploration more engaging and fun. My favorite borderlands, and the claptrap DLC was also pretty darn fun.
I still can't get why they outright betrayed him like that. They could try to proove their point at least..
The story was dragged on and had many uninteresting characters and terrible dialogue if it wasnt handsome jack. And even then he's nice and less interesting/funny than in bl2

New Tales had like 10 jokes that were funny as fuck, the rest was pure pain.
I played the whole game so no one else would have to.
I watched a whole 9 hour stream of it. Something that pains me is that there were a couple jokes towards the end that would have made me laugh (octavio holding himself hostage with the talking gun), but i was so exhausted and worn out by the shit, forced humour i just couldn't

@@chef___true. I did not laugh or even chuckle a single time during either of those games. When me and my friends got through the games, we couldn’t even bring ourselves to start doing any endgame farming. The stories bored us out of finishing our builds.
BL3 gameplay is on another level of epicness.

Borderlands 2 is absolutely perfect
Borderlands 2 got me through some tough times as a kid. Forever has a place in my heart.
Bro, I got so nervous when TPS was up there. Most people think poorly of The Presequel, but that game had laser weapons, oxygen jumping, a dual wielding cowgirl gunslinger, AND you got to play as Handsome Jack(‘s clone)! The only thing wrong with TPS is that we, the people, didn’t love it enough so Gearbox had to put it down like Old Yeller.
On the real though, it wasn’t until I started OZ kit jumping across maps that I realized how much more fun that mechanic is than just walking or driving around a map. Not to mention the gravity slams being so strong it wasn’t at all hard to win gun fights by just ass slamming down on the opposition😂
Not to mention, even Mordecai was jealous that TPS had launch pads.
Shout outs to Borderlands 2 VR it was pretty damned beautiful and I'd play 3 if they did that one in VR even with the meh story.

I’m currently playing tales from the borderlands cause it came with the Pandora’s box and it is probably in my top 10 games now. I didn’t expect to like it at all but I’m so glad I gave it a chance

Gonna be honest. For the most part I thought borderlands 3 was shit. In the beginning of its life span it was pretty alright. Would maybe even call it somewhat good. Story wasn’t that great when Ava showed up tho. Then they ruined it cause they decided to get nerf happy for a few months. Most of the Best weapons in the game are locked behind dlc. And I do mean most. Maybe even almost all. There’s a few good weapons from vanilla but not many
If Gearbox wants to go back to Borderlands, roots and the original storyline that they’d hinted at years ago (which at this point would be for the best), which hinted at aliens related to the Vaults and a big war, they’d need to get rid of, or rewrite some of the lesser new ones they introduced, and respect the older ones that were killed off. A better villain would also be good.

Actually most of the best guns are mayhem exclusive which makes sense but dlc only holds maybe 40% of the top tier stuff. Also depends on character.
@@CowKirbo I’m aware of that aswell. I always played on mayhem 10. For most characters there weren’t many guns I could use at all cause most other weapons just felt like peashooters. Tho honestly I’d say dlc holds more than 40% way more. Almost every top tier gun was exclusive to one of the dlcs. Like yeah there were a few non dlc weapons that were good but for they most part they were behind a paywall

Borderlands is by far my favorite game series. Most of my experience playing video games is just replaying different games in the series. I’ve spent so much of my time learning about the series. And yet, I constantly just forget about the existence of New Tales from the Borderlands. Thats how bad of a game that was, a super fan of the series just forgets it exists

Oh yes gotten that tripple pack in 2016, I was 16 at the time , for 50€ playing with no wifi just solo fun and Consuming YT vids at the dosents.
The trailer gave a strong spark, but that tripple pack set an entite forrest ablaze with a fire of passion for this series that still burns today, even if its on the lower end rn, it never dies.

I finished my first borderlands 3 playthrough last night and i loved it. The ending was so bitter sweet and then the credits with the music (girl on fire) hit me hard. RIP Lilith.

Imo BL3 is overhated. I loved Lilith’s sacrifice and the Troy boss fight also all the vault bosses. Bl3 is my fav in every category almost. Although, I do think that Handsome Jack is the best villain by far

@@I_Eated_The_Soap Im not really someone who plays Zelda, but I don't think the comparison is 1:1. Borderlands 2 was very well known for its writing. In fact it's one of the reasons I still regularly replay it. Idk if Zelda games are known for their writing, so it shouldn't be judged for it on the same level as a borderlands game. It's like saying that you shouldnt judge an Assassins Creed game based on the quality of the parkour because Skyrim is a great game and didn't have parkour. Or like saying that a telltale game shouldn't be judged on story because minecraft is a great game that has no story. Doesn't really make sense.

@@brandon9621 Opposite of me, with BL1 being the first one I played, and being my favorite game of all time. Borderlands was originally a badass mad max style post apocalyptic shooter, and the transition from that to shooting nothing but robots and expanding heavily on magical elements, made it go from a post apocalyptic horror FPS, to a futuristic Sci Fi shooter to me. BL2 is still top 25 all time for me, but I played 1 first so I'm biased. Imo, they changed up way to much from 1 to 2. A corrosive weapon is almost required for the ass ton of loader your going encounter too imo.
I can understand why VR won't make it to the top. I just keep getting constant migraines.

Why people still care about story in Borderlands games? BL2 has the best story but no any other shooting game can't give the satisfaction that Borderlanda 3 can give. Even Destiny 2 and many games.

@@CowKirboit really isnt that old, and i wouldnt call somebody a newbie, been playing for quite awhile and idk, bl1 just really doesnt compare to the other games, it feels way slower and just awful
@razu_mn it's 14 years old. It is very freaking old. I personally don't think it has any problems regarding its pacing. It felt pretty good. It may not feel as good as some other more recent games, but as I said, I still enjoy going back and playing it off and on. I heavily prefer it over bl3.
Just to let y’all know, boarderlands on Xbox 360 got platinum hits and best seller award so it was definitely a big hit game. And boarderlands just hold a special place in my heart because when I was really really little I remember sitting down on the floor and watching my brother play borderlands all the time and I think that was the first true game they got me into gaming on Consol, and eventually lead on to PC.
Borderlands tps was the only reason I was able to somewhat get into borderlands. I had tried time and time again to get into 1 but the gameplay at least on 360, was so god damn stiff and unfun. But then when I got with my
Boyfriend he loves these games and we started playing tps just to go chronological and it was 100000x better than my experience with 1.

Borderlands 3 has the best graphics but cmon now, how you gonna think its the best? Antagonists were crap, we lose maya thanks to a "child moment", not enough actual cut scenes. The characters skill trees didn't really offer anything that special.

I really like the gameplay of the 3 parts (except for the DIALOGUES WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY TO SKIP), but the 2 part will remain in my heart, as well as 1.5 with its masterpiece scene of the death of Claptraps
BL 1 & 2 will always a spot in my heart lol.. Those games were soooo much fun in their times! Alot of good memories with friends spending countless hours farming bosses for better loot!

Finally someone who doesn’t shit on pre sequel! Honestly, I think with time and attention with new additions, dlcs and tweaks, it could have been amazing. And the claptrap dlc is one of if not my favourite dlc from the series.
