Trumpeter's 1/32 Me 262 (Full Build)

  • I like experimenting and creating natural metal finishes on models. The 262 was the second choice. I'd hoped that the Hurricane would have been the model to practice these techniques on. However, this fell at the first hurdle.
I'm also a big believer in figures being shown in or alongside finished models, giving life and a sense of scale, hence the loan of the Tamiya Sherman figure.
I would like to wish everyone a good break over the festive season wherever you are in this crazy world. Don't let the b@st@rds grind you down.

Nicely done, Very nice metal finish. In 1976 i paint stripped a real ME262 to bare metal, There was a large amount of steel used in it`s construction (Nose and engine nacelles) which was much darker than the duralumin area`s, Additionally the Fin leading edge and all undercarriage doors were wood.

Excellent build out, having retired, I have renewed my interest in modeling and having to relearn techniques with new materials and kits. Your videos are very helpful in accomplishing this .I am practicing on some old kits stashed back for years. In fact the last clear plastic kit I remember is the large scale P-51 mounted on a base where you could operate the propeller, gear and bomb dropping. Thanks for sharing and Happy Holidays.

I’m in the midst of building a solid fuselage version. My complaints, so far, is the instrument panel is clear, but the instruments are solid, rather backwards, and the nacelles don’t have open panels for engine display, but a nice model otherwise. Thanks for the video

That model looks really good with a nice finish. I like how you added the toneality to metal panels although I am not too sure about the puttying as you call it. I would have thought this would be neatly applied to any panel gaps to seal the panels but maybe in the wartime the work was not so neat. Each to their own as you say. Great video, keep them coming. I've just finished the Revell 1/72 Concorde. If you want a challenge give that kit a go but buy a big tube of filler with the kit.
