✅ About Lost Socket Garage:
Lost Socket Garage.com was created in 2019, though its roots run much longer. It all began with a group of friends that loved to modify their cheap high school cars with next to no actual budget. Originally focusing on our love of American Muscle, we grew into specializing in Classic Ford mustangs and more specifically the highly popular Coupe to Fastback Conversion. With the Fastback Market skyrocketing, we wanted to provide a realistic alternative to owning a classic Fastback without shelling out the premium they draw.
With many Successful conversions under our belt, our goal is to provide Knowledge, Experience, and the highest Quality in the industry at a reasonable price. At Lost Socket Garage, we truly love the car culture and the community that goes with it. It’s not about the money, it’s about making people smile when they hit the gas.
Sincerely, Hunter Smith

Pontiac was kicking ass during the mustang 2 era.
hell yeah it was.
Hell yes on the 4 link!! Great video buddy!!
Thanks so much!!!!
Another stellar video Hunter and crew! Yes please on the 4 link
Hey thanks!!! Means alot
Dang that grey mustang is sick!
Right?! Gonna be really cool in someones driveway real soon ;)
Really checking out your fastback conversion kits videos for a future build I'm contemplating. The Mustang II front components are great for all kinds of builds- I have the Mustang II spindles on my AC Cobra build with aftermarket control arms to the existing pick up points and it works great. One quick and crazy question- have you guys ever built a fast back conversion with an IRS rear- either 8.8 Mercury or Ford IRS or the later Mustang IRS set up? Any other ideas to make a conversion handle almost "track like" on the road?
Also, what kind of issues come up with fast back conversion with mini tubs so I can run decent sized tires on the rear?
Thank you for the history lesson.
It was a fun one to give! Thanks for hanging out!
Excited for this! You guys are great.
Shanks
Loved this one. Now I want a mustang 2 kit in mine. I’d love to see the 4 link kit installed. Also a video on the removal of the shock tower and other necessary items to install this
Shock towers are just spot welds. We kinda show it in this vid. Sorry we kinda skipped that part a bit. Thanks for following along!
Great Video, and yes I would like to see a four link video.
Deal!
You guys are great!
Hey Thanks so much!!!
This video was awesome. I’ve been debating between the aje n the mustang to fear suspension kits for my 66. And after watching this video I think mtf is going to b the best choice for what I wanna do in the bay
Tell em we sent ya! It's a great kit, won't be disappointed. Thanks for following along!!
4 Link 👍
On it!
What is the caster angle on the Mustangs-to-fear suspension???
looks to be neutral or 0 deg. But youd have to check for sure with them. Im just eyeballing
Do a 4 Link Set Up Please.
We will !
So you sawed off an inch from each of the inner tie rods. Is that change done to facilitate wider tires on the front of a first generation mustang or is the set up on the Mustang II wider?
I believe its applications specific. Not sure though, thats just what the instructions have us do
Does this require a rear sump oil pan on a 302? how about a Lincoln Mark 8 independent rear end install!
I'd have to check, but I believe so
If the Mustang II is so wrong, why are you converting first Generation Mustangs to Mustang II suspensions??? ;-)
I own 76 cobra II V8 4 speed car and now with 347 and 5 speed. I have more fun with Cobra II than I did with my 70 Mach 1.
@@pdmustgtd1013 the Mustang II is a real mustang, the MACH E is a fake mustang. :-)
haha, just the look that doesn't jive with me. To each their own. I know I like some cars that others are like "WTF man" haha
amen
@@lostsocketgarage I don't like 71-73 rear was flat and nose of the car. Then Fox body based off Fremont chassis they didn't look like Mustang. People like to say Mustang II a Pinto not even close. They only share small piece of sheet metal under rear seat. They share ton of small parts but many models did that. First Mustang was re-skinned Ford Falcon.
LS!!!! Legit best American engine swap. Period... I have a 67 Mustang I got for my son, I keep telling him I'm going to LS swap it, it always makes him stutter😂
For real!! Thought I was going to get lit up for that comment haha
Hey come on, get real, the fastest mustangs would have to be Turbo, twin overhead cam, 4 litre Aussie Barra powered but you Merikans just don't know how good our down under sixes are. Most bang for the buck and great fuel economy when not running 7's in stock form. It is ok keep on believing in chev power.
hey I'd take a Barra engine, but we can't love what we aren't cool enough to get! Don't even get me started on the amazing Holdens yall got and utes. haha
i wish id seen this kit before i got the one i installed . i have a basic kit and it was not bad to install but figuring out the motor mount situation was a pain. the mtf kit has a bigger drop so my engine could have been in the stock place351w has a fat oil pump so my engine sits a little bit forward i test drove it with no wheel alignment and it was way better than it was nice and tight i still need to figure out a sway bar maybe mtf will have on that will fit . great job as always
Well glad it drove well. I believe you can just get the sway from them.
