I picked it up because that knife has kind of a fun history for my home state of Michigan. Safety folders were a big part of what put Marbles on the map in the early 20th century, and I've wanted a classic version for the collection for a while. Gaps, polish, and all this will have to do until then!

I have wondered about these. Saw an action adventure when Animal House came out (Double Feature). They had a knife that unfolded into a longer knife and was fascinated.

Interesting Knife, But a Fixed Blade would be preferable to having a swing guard and a hinged safety Guard hanging out the back. I just don't understand the "why" behind the Idea of this build. Thank you for sharing, definitely interesting.

Is that an old pattern? I haven't ever seen it. Marbles did make their Safety Hatchet with a folding guard for the edge. This vaguely reminds me of it.
This is my first experience with the pattern Jim. I honestly am not sure if the pattern is old or not.

@@craigwilkes I believe its Blue Ridge Knives who own the Marbles name now. Same guy who bought OKC. I'm pretty sure he has a number of other out-of-business historic cutlery brands as well, but I'm not sure which ones exactly
According to Brian Wilhoite of SMKW, Marbles is an SMKW brand. I thought it was as well but asked for verification
