  • With over 200,000 units sold annually, the #ToyotaTacoma is the best-selling midsize pickup truck in the USA. For the all-new 4th generation truck, #Toyota has given the latest #Tacoma a comprehensive full redesign. We got our hands on all of the non-hybrid trims this year, but focused primarily on the #TacomaTRDSport and #TacomaTRDOffRoad which Toyota says are the most popular trims of this new truck.

Kicking off Taco Tuesday right with our full review on a brand new Taco 🌮! We also drove a 6-speed MT equipped truck during the driving scene. Toyota says the I-Force MAX hybrid powertrain will be on sale in the Spring of 2024 and we’ll be driving it around the same time.

Thank you and your camera man for smartly shooting the video where you're taking up 1/3 of the frame. The truck takes up 1/3 of the frame and the written specs take up 1/3 of the frame. This is helpful to viewers. Please make this the standard for all of your reviews.

My favorite TH-cam reviewer here. Always comprehensive and no nonsense. Those rears seats in any small trucks are borderline useless except for kids maybe for emergency short trips. While off topic, all the manufacturers should have a rear seat delete option in their extended cab versions configured with some type of lockable storage.

I definitely like the transmission with more gears and the dashboard, plus the overall design. Toyota dropped the ball on rear interior space and rear storage, something that is needed for a small truck, because certain things people don’t want to put in the bed.

The old V6 was a short stroke engine. It is a very reliable engine. It likes high revs, that is where it shines. but the 6 speed auto with the flex converter (which half unlocks and full unlocks) is always shifting locking and unlocking trying to keep the RPM's low for fuel mileage. I find in the hills, I can keep the shifting to a minimum with my foot on the gas peddle, better than the cruise which is too slow to respond.

Depending on the Power output numbers (0-60) it might be enough to trade the wrx in for one. In every single metric compared to the past truck, it is better. They did a great job. I wonder how reliable the powertrain is, especially since Lexus already uses it currently in its line up.

Im averaging 18mpg with a v8 on 35” tires and a lift kit and my family has more rear seat room than a stretched s class mercedes. Toyota will want msrp or above for these which is insane. The I4 is a long stroke engine, or under squared I believe is the term. 87.5 mm of bore to 99.5mm of stroke. This increases low rpm torque and lowers the upper redline to 5500 rpms or so. Where as the 3.5l.
    The 8GR-FKS is a 3.5 L (3,456 cc) version. Bore and stroke is 94 mm × 83 mm (3.70 in × 3.27 in). The 8GR-FKS includes on-demand Atkinson cycle, engine output is 315 PS (232 kW; 311 hp) at 6,600 rpm and 380 N⋅m (280 lb⋅ft) at 4,800 rpm.
Is 94mm of bore and 83mm of stroke. The rods are generally lighter in a short stroker. But high RPMs and acceleration is where it shines. Also fuel economy idling is better on the short stroker. Bu torque is in upper RPMs.
