But, otherwise billy's lawsuits are actually strategic since in america civil suits are very costly and often a jury verdict is not beneficial for either party. Billy weaponizes the legal system against smaller creators who cant sustain the costs of lawsuits. Thus forcing them to settle out of court (see twin galaxies and that one youtuber i forget his name). Effectively billy is able to use the threat of a sustained lawsuit because he actually follows through with it, everyone knows hes in the wrong, but knows that a long battle in the american court system to prove it would win them absolutely nothing other than tens of thousands of dollars down the drain.

As someone that is polyamorous, I don't think that's necessarily true. It takes a ton of emotional maturity to be involved in one, and it seriously requires ego to be checked at the door for the sake of a healthy relationship, which is tough because we are all humans that are prone to fuck up, just like monogamous people are. It's definitely not for everyone, but it can work. It just takes the right people with the right mentality.
Some of them even were solved with direct (not all that honest) private communication, and then these people still decide to go make public drama about matters that were long settled, but they changed how they felt about them.

I'm a 40 year old dude, to me it's crazy how anything and everthing gets posted online these days; seeing these cases, it just feels like young people have never learned the ability to resolve things amongst themselves and not involve the internet at large. End result, we all know. Also, Xrd has a lot of stuff that cannot be found in both XX and Strive or vice versa. Also, XX would be a completely different experience because there is no slowdown, air grab combo, force break, Frc and the weight system exist. Strive complaints could be personal or stupid because of the complete shift.

Strive was personally my first fighting game that I clicked with. So I don't think it was a mistake itself, but I do think that gatekeeping being seen as a "sin" was a mistake along with making the game mainstream. Because then you get the weird people in it and because gatekeeping is seen as a "sin" in gaming now, there's no way to really weed out those people. Gaming communities have become way too overly accepting of anyone who touches the game, leading to shit like this happening.

When the FGC first started going e-sports there was a lot of criticism about that. A lot of people felt like it was ruining what made the FGC special and left over it. At the time we thought it was for the best but look what's taken over in it's place. I think the reason so many FGC members end up in these kinds of situations is because they're unsociable nerds with years of pent up urges, so when you force these kinds of people into close proximity with each other through tournaments, and none of them have any kind of experience with explicit relationships - much less consent - you're setting yourself up for catastrophe.

There's tons of horrible stuff in the GGST community but harassment with disagreeing with the Bridget retcon was very minor if memory is correct or just not even classified as harassment.

I became part of FGC through Guilty Gear Xrd all the way from sign to revelator. Also played other games and made some really good friends through the community. Things were way simplier back then. I'm glad I never bother with strive and the new FGC. I still attend 1-2 major tournament to see my out of state FGC friends who I still keep in touch for years. You just gotta know what types of people to avoid
A lot of the people involved in these absolutely insane situations are trans or LGB. They are almost as crazy as the situations they find themselves in. So it is pretty fucking relevant. But, otherwise billy's lawsuits are actually strategic since in america civil suits are very costly and often a jury verdict is not beneficial for either party. Billy weaponizes the legal system against smaller creators who cant sustain the costs of lawsuits. Thus forcing them to settle out of court (see twin galaxies and that one youtuber i forget his name).
Effectively billy is able to use the threat of a sustained lawsuit because he actually follows through with it, everyone knows hes in the wrong, but knows that a long battle in the american court system to prove it would win them absolutely nothing other than tens of thousands of dollars down the drain.

A friend of mine once said "If you are into a polyamorous relationship, you are practically asking for drama".
It’s even worse given how many of these people are socially inept and probably couldn’t handle a monogamous relationship. They just want multiple people giving them affection and attention and believe polyamory to be the easiest option.
As someone that is polyamorous, I don't think that's necessarily true. It takes a ton of emotional maturity to be involved in one, and it seriously requires ego to be checked at the door for the sake of a healthy relationship, which is tough because we are all humans that are prone to fuck up, just like monogamous people are. It's definitely not for everyone, but it can work. It just takes the right people with the right mentality.

End result, we all know. Also, Xrd has a lot of stuff that cannot be found in both XX and Strive or vice versa. Also, XX would be a completely different experience because there is no slowdown, air grab combo, force break, Frc and the weight system exist. Strive complaints could be personal or stupid because of the complete shift.
One thing I learned from Vorobey, is if you announce you're going to talk about someone in a community but don't say Who, someone else will come out and start doing pre damage control.

Strive was personally my first fighting game that I clicked with. So I don't think it was a mistake itself, but I do think that gatekeeping being seen as a "sin" was a mistake along with making the game mainstream.

I know people from the Bronx. Some of my coworkers are from the Bronx. They're cool dudes but they do NOT play that shit. Ever since the FGC went e-sports they had to start censoring all that stuff and toning it down. Degeneracy is what they proudly used to call it iirc. When the FGC first started going e-sports there was a lot of criticism about that. A lot of people felt like it was ruining what made the FGC special and left over it. At the time we thought it was for the best but look what's taken over in it's place. Maybe they were a deterrent to these weirdos, because it seems like now that they're gone these people feel safe to get try and get away with this behavior.

I think the reason so many FGC members end up in these kinds of situations is because they're unsociable nerds with years of pent up urges, so when you force these kinds of people into close proximity with each other through tournaments, and none of them have any kind of experience with explicit relationships - much less consent - you're setting yourself up for catastrophe.

It only got worse after videos were made about the situation. It was such a minor thing that got blown up due to videos being made and sure arguments were had but harassment with that specific thing wasn't ever prevalent.
There's tons of horrible stuff in the GGST community but harassment with disagreeing with the Bridget retcon was very minor if memory is correct or just not even classified as harassment.

I became part of FGC through Guilty Gear Xrd all the way from sign to revelator. Also played other games and made some really good friends through the community. Things were way simplier back then. I'm glad I never bother with strive and the new FGC. I still attend 1-2 major tournament to see my out of state FGC friends who I still keep in touch for years. You just gotta know what types of people to avoid
