Really good video that showcases the terrible bias, inconsistencies and what a sham the Smash Bros (competitive) community is and how they truly manage issues behind doors. I'm a firm believer that I am not the only wrongful victim, the way they framed me publicly and attacked me was instigated by their bias against me (as I was never an agent nor part of them behind the scenes) happened to other people. Despite me going the legal route and fully addressing everything, they simply act as if any of it does not exist and pretend the way it all happened was a perfectly fair and reasonable trial. I don't think they truly care about any of the issues they deal with, they simply use them politically to remove individuals that do not fit their larger narrative and clique. A very good example is how Hax is treated when compared to Leffen.
I feel so bad for Hax, the dude is clearly bad with words but was endlessly tormented and bullied, then gets even harsher treatment when he spoke up about it. All for them to ban him without even talking to him, and meanwhile leffen is still publicly bashing the boxx to this day in tournaments
Oh they're incredibly biased, I can't even remember how many times I got attacked on twitter for saying "let me hear both stories first" for you as well as FOW, all they did was throw a baby tantrums telling me " is a victim!!" As messed up as this is to say, if people try to cancel MkLeo on anything the result would be similar to what happened to you all because they hate him constantly winning. By that I mean, not listening to both sides but only listening to the victims side thinking twitter is the court.

I 100% agree. I share one unpopular opinion (like, "don't ban Kazuya"), and I get blown up by these guys. Outright made me reconsider NOT participating in competitive Smash. I am a very good player (nearly beat Fatality), but dang some members in this community are insane.

The main Smash subreddit has about 900k members, Ultimate subreddit has a little over 400k, & the Melee subreddit has just short of 100k; every time Tech makes a video about the community, all 3 of them just stop getting regular posts.

I think it’s because someone told him something or he felt the pressure to backpedal for whatever reason. People underestimate how petty and gate keeping the smash community can be. Just look at Panda Global making threats to delicense Nintendo licensed events if they don’t join the Panda Cup and then following through.

This is what flipped me. I've watched Nairo a lot before and after this situation since him having legit everyone, including the support of professional players and creators, made him seem validated in my eyes, but looking at technical's past two videos, yeah, there was NOTHING. And understanding that there was precedent for people getting banned for things that were somewhat the same as what Nairo did makes it even worse.

Legal issues in the Smash community is just a losing battle no matter how it pans out. People are constantly contradicting themselves and straight up lying to the point where a lot of the times, it’s just complete spaghetti no matter how you look at it. This is the very reason I am never going into competitive Smash outside of locals. I don’t want to even dip a toe into anything outside of my local community.

As somebody who hates seeing corruption happen at a more real level of Big Time true politics, it brings me great joy to see you point out corruption in our small humble smash community. I remember back when the entire thing happened in 2020. The #1 most common sentiment was "Just because he's a great player/content creator, doesn't mean he's a great person" in their justification for their mass harassment of people. Wish they could apply it to people they actually like, in this case Nairo, but also a bunch of other fuckwits in the community.
I think the biggest red flag in claims about Nairo's innocence is the fact that he hasn't shown Technicals nor Cagt this 30 paged document. If anything, Technicals would probably delete the videos on Nairo and retract the statements if the document filled with convincing evidence was sent to him... so why hasn't Nairo done it? This alone makes me believe that Nairo isn't as innocent as he claims to be. The alibis the huge smash figureheads (that read the doc) gave him acts more as a way to silence public criticism rather than prove any innocence he may have. EDIT: I'm glad this comment is creating some conversation. I rarely see actual discussion about Nairo outside of major videos such as these, so I'm glad there are some dimensions behind the thoughts of the public.

Just found this channel out today, and I gotta say wow am I glad someone’s willing to cover all this. I’ve always enjoyed playing the game and have watched a fair amount of tournaments (specifically for Ultimate), though I’ve never actually gotten into the community. It’s crazy that the argument that Nairo “doesn’t want to go to events” is even used. This is my first video of your content but I’m hooked. I love the documentary style and the witty humor. I’m not big into the drama of pro smash, I’m just a decent player who likes watching some streams but this gave me some good insight into what actually happens behind closed doors. The most messed up part to me is that Zero got pretty much driven into attempted suicide and almost had his life ruined for something that isn't even true, and the cherry on top is that this even happened after he retired as a competitive player, meanwhile there's this Nairo guy who actually did something worse than what zero was accused of but doesn't get banned, that's messed up. Also reading enough of miscellaneous twitter drama has taught me that if someone has pronouns of any kind of flag that represents an ideology on their profile description then that's not quite a Red flag but more like an orange one, it's a sign you must be careful with those, and it has nothing to do with their preferences, it has to do that you are probably dealing with a piece of shit, if you have been reading enough twitter drama you know what i am talking about, if not, then consider yourself lucky .

Really good video that showcases the terrible bias, inconsistencies and what a sham the Smash Bros (competitive) community is and how they truly manage issues behind doors. I'm a firm believer that I am not the only wrongful victim, the way they framed me publicly and attacked me was instigated by their bias against me (as I was never an agent nor part of them behind the scenes) happened to other people. Despite me going the legal route and fully addressing everything, they simply act as if any of it does not exist and pretend the way it all happened was a perfectly fair and reasonable trial.
I don't think they truly care about any of the issues they deal with, they simply use them politically to remove individuals that do not fit their larger narrative and clique. A very good example is how Hax is treated when compared to Leffen.

As somebody who hates seeing corruption happen at a more real level of Big Time true politics, it brings me great joy to see you point out corruption in our small humble smash community. It needs to be said. And those who contribute to it should feel ashamed and be held accountable and hopefully change their ways
I remember back when the entire thing happened in 2020. The #1 most common sentiment was "Just because he's a great player/content creator, doesn't mean he's a great person" in their justification for their mass harassment of people. Wish they could apply it to people they actually like, in this case Nairo, but also a bunch of other fuckwits in the community.
I think the biggest red flag in claims about Nairo's innocence is the fact that he hasn't shown Technicals nor Cagt this 30 paged document. If anything, Technicals would probably delete the videos on Nairo and retract the statements if the document filled with convincing evidence was sent to him... so why hasn't Nairo done it?
This alone makes me believe that Nairo isn't as innocent as he claims to be. The alibis the huge smash figureheads (that read the doc) gave him acts more as a way to silence public criticism rather than prove any innocence he may have.
EDIT: I'm glad this comment is creating some conversation. I rarely see actual discussion about Nairo outside of major videos such as these, so I'm glad there are some dimensions behind the thoughts of the public.

Either that or it can’t be shown publicly legally because it involves a minor or something like that. That’s the only reason I could think of for his team to withhold it. Or in court it was agreed upon that it could not be revealed publicly as terms of their agreement could be another possibility.

I'd give that a benefit of a doubt if not for the fact that it was settled outside of court. If that settlement did demand that the document not see the light of day, why would Nairo agree to that? Wouldn't someone prefer that the one thing that'd thoroughly prove their innocence be available to see if it's not going to be processed in an actual trial? You can correct me on any comments I make btw. I'm not proficient in law, but the entire thing feels sus to me.

I’ve always enjoyed playing the game and have watched a fair amount of tournaments (specifically for Ultimate), though I’ve never actually gotten into the community. It’s crazy that the argument that Nairo “doesn’t want to go to events” is even used. It has nothing to do with him showing up or not, it has everything to do with the Smash community publicly disavowing his actions and behavior. Hell they actively defend seeing how much effort they put into removing the ban nairo sign from the VODs. As long as he is unbanned it shows that the smash higher-ups value their public image over protecting said public. That is morally unacceptable.
