Technicals, I just needed to add one thing to your “it’s legal” argument: It’s a U.S. law that states Traveling across state or country borders to have sex with a minor is illegal REGARDLESS of the age of consent in either state, country, province, etc. In effect, this means the age of consent in Washington has nothing to do with it. All the court would have to do is prove that she is a minor and that Zaptie is from Canada and this would be an open and shut case. Once again, the age of consent in either parties’ legal jurisdiction has absolutely no effect on the outcome of this case. He would have 100% been convicted and forced to register as a sex offender if he had followed though on his intent that he showed in those texts, and intent to commit an illegal sexual act is ALSO ENOUGH to convict the guilty party.

You forgot to mention the fact that Washington's age of consent law doesnt matter, Zaptie would have still broken major federal laws by intending to cross state lines to engage in sexual acts with a minor. Unless Zaptie was already in Washington, Washington's age of consent doesnt matter and instead its the Federal age of consent that is applied in this situation

Some of my favorite parts include: 1.) Accusing Technicals of welcoming EDP445 back if he had a sad backstory, even though he showed a clip of Technicals saying he wouldn't and doesn't consider him the same case. In the same video no less. 2.) Basically doing no research at all on Technicals' Nairo stance. I even said the same thing about how that whole section could've been scrapped if Swan just watched the opening of "Ban Nairo". 3.) Stating that Tech's P word definition (suggests past, present, future, and potential harm of children) sucks because it wouldn't apply to a NoMAP. Even though... it would? That's like saying an alcoholic isn't a potential drunk driver because they say they won't drink and drive, the potential doesn't just go away because they say the won't do it Swan...
4.) Dude same, a friend of mine dated a freshman when we were seniors for a couple of weeks or so. Every time them dating was brought up, we as a group would tell her how weird it was that they were dating and they eventually stopped dating soon after.

I think some people are missing some of the points of this video. A couple of comments call Technicals out for being a hypocrite for defending ZeRo but not Zaptie. I think some people fail to understand that Technicals did not agree with the actions ZeRo committed even going as far as to say he should continue to stay banned from Smash related events, but be allowed to continue making content. He even said that Zaptie should be allowed to make content if he so feels like it. I fail to see the hypocrisy when the point was never to condone actions but to highlight issues like the mountain of lies being thrown ZeRo's way and, in this case, highlight the questionable support being given to Zaptie for having done what he has. I also see a point being made about Zaptie being lied to while ZeRo knew full well what the victim's true age was. I'd understand this point if the age being lied about wasn't practically the same problem. Lying that you are 16 to a 20 year old who is encouraging suggestive actions does not, for most people, change that it still very well falls under pedophilia. The issue was not that he was lied to but rather being the age gap was still extremely concerning, legal age of consent or not. It was about the morality of it as it was shown to Zaptie. Most people would consider that pedophile behavior no matter if he was lied to or if they were in high school or if the age of consent was legal for them or not. All in all I found this to be a great video, skits n all. I'm just trying to help people maybe get a bit more of a general understanding on why I feel their arguments may be wrong but anyone is free to challenge that idea. Technicals, I just needed to add one thing to your “it’s legal” argument: It’s a U.S. law that states Traveling across state or country borders to have sex with a minor is illegal REGARDLESS of the age of consent in either state, country, province, etc.
In effect, this means the age of consent in Washington has nothing to do with it. All the court would have to do is prove that she is a minor and that Zaptie is from Canada and this would be an open and shut case.
Once again, the age of consent in either parties’ legal jurisdiction has absolutely no effect on the outcome of this case. He would have 100% been convicted and forced to register as a sex offender if he had followed though on his intent that he showed in those texts, and intent to commit an illegal sexual act is ALSO ENOUGH to convict the guilty party.

Regardless, catfishing more often than not doesn't defend you because statutory r*** is considered a "strict liability crime".

You forgot to mention the fact that Washington's age of consent law doesnt matter, Zaptie would have still broken major federal laws by intending to cross state lines to engage in sexual acts with a minor. Unless Zaptie was already in Washington, Washington's age of consent doesnt matter and instead its the Federal age of consent that is applied in this situation

I dropped out of this saga a long time ago, but I'm glad to find out that I'm not crazy for thinking Swan's "debunk" video sucked ass and was just a shitty attempt at reviving his channel. Some of my favorite parts include:
1.) Accusing Technicals of welcoming EDP445 back if he had a sad backstory, even though he showed a clip of Technicals saying he wouldn't and doesn't consider him the same case. In the same video no less.
2.) Basically doing no research at all on Technicals' Nairo stance. I even said the same thing about how that whole section could've been scrapped if Swan just watched the opening of "Ban Nairo".
3.) Stating that Tech's P word definition (suggests past, present, future, and potential harm of children) sucks because it wouldn't apply to a NoMAP. Even though... it would? That's like saying an alcoholic isn't a potential drunk driver because they say they won't drink and drive, the potential doesn't just go away because they say the won't do it Swan...
4.) That stupid "painting a narrative" schtick throughout the video, as if it isn't easy to accuse someone of ulterior motives (Swan is just painting a narrrative and using this poor victim to get his shitty channel back! Wah!) nor would it even matter if the video is still based on facts.
5.) That goofy parody of Technicals' style. Seriously the whole thing falls apart and looks silly when you replace "Suave Detective" with "Failed Drama Host".

In another comment somewhere on this video, someone made the statement that it is illegal to cross boundaries in order to make the age of consent legal. In other words, if you (not specifically you. I’m not attacking you.) were to go to a country to have sex with a minor, then it’s illegal. So let’s say the age of consent somewhere else is 12. If you traveled to that country to have sex with said 12 year old, it is illegal. I think from the context provided, Zaptie would have to travel somewhere for the age of consent to be made legal. Meaning, he is moving somewhere to be legally right, which in itself is illegal. Technicals didn’t put this in the video (save your time trying to find this point), but it’s just something to think about.

So the implications of his words don’t matter if he blatantly says the opposite.
He is insistent on the Zaptie comparison because there is inherit human bias behind Zaptie’s defense. In other words, the people defending Zaptie are being hypocritical by deplatforming others for doing nearly the exact same thing as Zaptie.
I think Technicals just wants to maintain consistency in voice and morals. If you hold one person to a standard, you should hold everyone to the same standard. He even stated that he thinks it should be ok for Zaptie to have a community as long as that community accepts him. Why should Zero not have the same chance?

I think some people are missing some of the points of this video.
A couple of comments call Technicals out for being a hypocrite for defending ZeRo but not Zaptie. I think some people fail to understand that Technicals did not agree with the actions ZeRo committed even going as far as to say he should continue to stay banned from Smash related events, but be allowed to continue making content. He even said that Zaptie should be allowed to make content if he so feels like it. I fail to see the hypocrisy when the point was never to condone actions but to highlight issues like the mountain of lies being thrown ZeRo's way and, in this case, highlight the questionable support being given to Zaptie for having done what he has.
I also see a point being made about Zaptie being lied to while ZeRo knew full well what the victim's true age was. I'd understand this point if the age being lied about wasn't practically the same problem. Lying that you are 16 to a 20 year old who is encouraging suggestive actions does not, for most people, change that it still very well falls under pedophilia. The issue was not that he was lied to but rather being the age gap was still extremely concerning, legal age of consent or not. It was about the morality of it as it was shown to Zaptie. Most people would consider that pedophile behavior no matter if he was lied to or if they were in high school or if the age of consent was legal for them or not.
All in all I found this to be a great video, skits n all. I'm just trying to help people maybe get a bit more of a general understanding on why I feel their arguments may be wrong but anyone is free to challenge that idea. It's all about positive discussions
From my view the commentary community is just dead set on trying to label zero as a pedo over allegations we don't have all the proof. Zero should 100% be banned from tournaments but until we see more evidence of him interacting with minors inappropriately then he can keep uploading content.

Nobody even really fucking pays attention to the commentary community anymore and it's because of the lack of any actual entertaining or interesting content. They've been shitting out half assed coverage of random drama and events that happen within the community for years and will continue to do so. It's pretty apparent most of these dudes just want views and revenue and don't actually care about clearing names or getting some solid videos out to the public explaining drama. This video managed to be entertaining what with all the interviews and sketches throughout, something these other channels won't give the time of day to because it's too much work.
