My data transfer is transferring over 400 gb from my ps4 to my ps5 and it says it’ll take 76 hours. Does anyone know if that’s normal and if there’s a way to make it faster?
@@Billyjr876 I'm not sure their situation, but it's probably because they had a lot of games installed and decided to select to transfer everything all at once. I would only select games that you specifically are playing currently, and just redownload the others from the PSN at a later date.
Yes that is normal and you'll have to wait that long, 400gb is a big file and it'll take awhile for the transfer to complete that is why you should always break it down that way you don't wait this long.
My ps5 won’t register that my ps4 is on when I try to start the data transfer. I have them connected to the same wifi, both connected to each other with an Ethernet cable (which the ps5 acknowledges with a notification when plugged in) but when I begin the search for other console, it can never find the ps4. WHAT. THE. HELL.
Thank you brother you was so helpful you did a very very good job explaining it my cousin mr. Know-it-all told me I need to start from the PS4 I'm glad I didn't listen
The most basic question is do you have each playstation hooked to a hdmi or does running the ethernet hook up make them both show up through the same cable on your tv and how are you going from one to the other?
They both do not show up. The process is done from the PS5, so just have that PS5 connected via HDMI. Except for the one trophy sync part at the end. That part only needs the PS4, so you'll want to hook the PS4 up via HDMI at that point.
This does not work. I have tried this several times step by step and it does not give me a list of things to transfer it only gives two options to transfer. All data or all games and apps. It is either all or nothing?
I just tried it again and I still get the lists of things to transfer. Is it possible your data already matches, and that's why it won't let you do it?
@@GamingTheSystems1 I have no idea. This is the first time I have tried to transfer anything to my PS5. I get no list. All I get is two options data and games and apps. On top of that it will only allows me to transfer all of it which of course I cannot do because it exceeds the space on the hard drive of the PS5. I was only going to transfer one game from 4 to 5 but it does not give me that option. No big deal I guess as I can always download it to my PS5 but then I would have to start the game all over again which I did not want to do.
Do you know if fortnite and world of warships legends save there Data the same way. If I login into world of warships legends all my stuff would be there.
Tbh the internet cable I wouldn't put them to the ps4 to ps5 together what I do cuz I have a tp link extender so I put 2 interent cables 1 for the ps4 and 1 for the ps5
That is not true. Both ps4 & ps5 simply need to be connected to the same network. If they are both connected using wifi, the transfer will just take longer. If both game systems are connected to the same router using ethernet cables, the transfer usually goes a bit quicker. The devices communicate with each other over your network. Connecting an ethernet cable directly between them doesnt work like the video says. You can also have one device using wifi and the other device using an ethernet cable as long as they are on the same network.
@@jasons3123 They were both connected and a message came up that wouldn’t complete it. Luckily all I really needed to transfer was my PS4 Hard Drive. That was a pain finding out I wasted so many hours trying to figure this out.
A very thorough guide, thank you mate.

Use a LAN cable. I did that and it finished it in 2 min
@@J-money201but while it still transferring, can I turn off my ps4 console or do I have to keep it on?

Mine keeps asking for a QR code an password instead of that 0:48
What if your using an extended storage to save game, could you load it from the PS5 directly after installing the disk game file on the PS5?
I need to know as well
Did you figure it out?

Does it have to be the same accounts?
How am I supposed to have both consoles on if I only got one tv
Swap the HDMI's perhaps?
Connect both consoles on 1 TV unless your TV only got 1 hdmi slot

My data transfer is only 400Mb and it’s Taking 5 YEARS
Did it transfer then saves for all your accounts??
34 gb 41hours 😢😢😢😢 help

It’s really annoying that you have to get a Ethernet cable because without it you get a can’t transfer data message.

As someone who has both consoles all I have to say is why is Sony like this.. My gawd
Most likely they want to make the consoles hard to hack.
I love my Xbox, turn it on, log in, done.
