Dude, thank you so much for this guide. I’m planning on getting a PS5 this year if I can get a job and if they get them made and distributed fast enough. There are several game saves that I want to transfer and this guide will help me immensely when the day comes that I get my PS5. Many thanks for this.
For those that connect USB Drive and in PS4 Saves section just says "Your saved data will appear here", make sure you have the correct file structure in your drive. It should have 4 folders like this: PS4\SAVEDATA\\ ID String should be something like: 16x07xf191a9e079
Super silly question but does that folder look like CUSA and then a number? I have this message. I am thinking it could be because the USB does not have a name, but I don't want to change it until I know for sure.
Thanks for the tutorial however my extracted saved file path looked like this PS4\EXPORT\BACKUP\202312232315_00 I want to change it but not sure what my IDstring is in my case, can you please help. Thanks
I finally got mine that my friend was holding for me and set it up yesterday and all i had to do was simply log into my playstation and everything from ps4 was automatically on my ps5 i didn't have to do anything except log into my account.
That's because your data was backed up to the cloud because you must likely have playstation plus set up that way. This is for people who don't have it set up like that
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! I was in the wrong menu this whole time and was getting frustrated that I wouldn't be able to finish my PS4 games, but you helped me solve my issue! So appreciate this info man!
My PS4 saves are not showing up when I load the game, I am going to try follow your advice of restarting. Also thank you, after dozens of searches, this video is literally the only thing that touches on that.
Did you guys figure it out? I’m having the same problem. It shows that the storage is there in the external storage but the game isn’t recognizing it. I’ve followed all his steps and it still isn’t working
@@zachshouse2002 I figured it out. The direct transfer option offered by Sony didn't work so I deleted the save files from my PS5 then transferred over with a USB stick and then they worked
@@Gotiansgames So what you’re saying is that if I transfer my data via USB, I don’t have to do data transfer with Ethernet cable connected to the both consoles? If so, will the USB data transfer work with my PS4 disc games so I don’t lose any progress?

Aye so, this isnt working in the slightest. I've tried numerous times, restarted my PS5 numerous times. No matter what i do, it will refuse to copy stuff from my USB to the PS5, it will instead recopy stuff onto my unplugged PS4 somehow???
@@Gotiansgames Like is it easier to transfer data with a storage device or with the cloud? I have games on an external hard drive but I also have games in the cloud. Can I transfer using both?
