Yeah, the black pool that Asajj was placed in and all the green mist and the whispering of Nightsisters long passed definitely leaves plenty of room open for interpretation for Ventress to come back. Quinlan didn't know what to do with her body other than return it to Dathomir, he even says, "I hope this is okay," to Ventress as he places her in the black pool. He didn't cremate like the Jedi would, he didn't dig a hole and bury her like a traditional burial, and he didn't wrap her up in a pod and hang it in a tree like the Nightsisters did, he was just like, "Uh, everyone's dead, I don't know what to do, Obi-Wan's watching me from the cave entrance, what's the most respectful way I can treat my dead girlfriend? She mentioned this black pool thing when we were last here, I hope this is okay..." Probably as soon as Obi-Wan and Quinlan left Dathomir, she sprang up out of the waters and was like, "Oh great, how did I get here? Why am I wearing my ballgown? Where's all my stuff? Wait, where's Quinlan?!"
I haven't read the book but from everything I'm hearing about what happened in it, I am wondering why everyone is in a huff about Asajj 'coming back'. Like, it seems pretty clear they set the stage for an eventual return of some kind in the book.
@@djorankeil I have a hard time not writing too much, but... I never needed closure for Ventress, I was perfectly content with her just kind of disappearing into the ether as a bounty hunter that the Empire would have likely hunted down and killed because of her abilities. The best thing ever done with the character was making her a bounty hunter, and seeing her assist Ahsoka was good enough for me. I only ever bought the book because I had heard good things and it was an adaptation of 8 episodes we would never get (I'd done the same for the Son of Dathomir comic and I figured I might as well complete the Clone Wars collection). I'm glad I did though because the book is fantastic, the dialogue sounds exactly like the characters from the show, and the story is really engaging. They could have been some of the best episodes of Clone Wars had they been made, and to have such a sad but satisfying end to the character of Asajj Ventress when you might not have cared much about her before essentially being undone is what's got some people upset. I won't say that I don't have my own reservations because her death was pretty definitive and that final chapter is really satisfying after going along the whole journey, but I just have to wait and see what they do with the character before I make my final judgements. With how other stories have been handled like the Kanan comic or the Ahsoka novel, both of which I never read and don't really care to, I can still see why people are reacting the way they are. From what I understand, the Kanan one was mostly just superficial stuff like armor color, time of day, lightsaber color, etc., but it still has too many inconsistencies with the continuity that it's disappointing to see a previously established story was handled with such reckless abandon. Ahsoka is said to just be on fast forward in Tales of the Jedi, but it omitted a lot, too, there's plenty of room to do whatever you want between the prologue and the rest of the short and between scenes, but also a gay character was not in the short, so people got upset that representation was omitted, but Ahsoka's story wasn't really changed. Ventress though was dead, and now she's not, which feels like a much bigger deal, and maybe it's because I can look at it with more of an opinion because I know the story that's being affected. Clone Wars brought back people that were assumed dead like Admiral Trench (how can you survive a missile to the face in space and live?) and Clovis (they pretty definitively imply his death as an execution in Season 2, but the episode ends before we see anything), and Maul (I thought it was handled really well and I loved it, but I'm a biased Maul fanboy), but Ventress feels different after reading Dark Disciple because her character arc and the importance of her death and the impact of her legacy can be undone with her resurrection which feels like a much bigger deal than a couple of inconsistencies between concurrent stories told in different mediums.
The (potential) invasion of Pabu rings true with Andor’s attempted escape from Ferrix to Niamos-he tells Maarva that he’s going somewhere the Empire hasn’t reached yet, but quickly finds there’s no such place. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tanalorr meets a similar fate one way or another. I think there’s been a theme in recent Star Wars stories that you can’t escape injustice by hiding from it, and that the empire is so persistent that no refuge is safe forever
I’m glad she’s back. Mostly because I had to read a Wookieepedia article to get the rest of her story. Last time you see her on screen is her being implicated in Ashoka’s framing of the attack on the Jedi temple. Then she just wanders off. You don’t get to know her story unless you go into comics and books and all what else. At the very least I hope they go over her story in between clone wars and bad batch and we get a satisfying conclusion to her story.
Yeah I was in the room at celebration when they were showing the episodes. Everyone was in panic! Some woman behind me yelled “they’re rewriting canon!” It was crazy
Maybe Ventress doesn't appear in present day but Quinlan does. We know he survived order 66 and was active during the early reign of the Empire. Maybe Ventress appears in a flashback where she meets the Bad Batch and that is usedto connect the Batch to Quinlan.

Q&A: So I had a prediction on why Asajj Ventress might have shown up in The Bad Batch Season 3 and why she mentioned that she had no intention of killing the Bad Batch. So I had a prediction thought from the trailer. What if Asajj Ventress actually had to ask the Bad Batch to team up to stop Palpatine as well and she might drop some useful info to them like Palpatine was the true Sith Lord and she was been betrayed by the Seperatists in The Clone Wars?
It'd be cool to have ventress go after sidious but knowing her she has to have a REALLY good reason to recruit the bad batch. She barely tolerated Quinlan vos at the time
@@jesset2504 I don't recall The Bad Batch ever knew Palpatine was the Sith Lord that the Jedi Order had to fight. The whole Clones pre-order 66 didn't know that those the Chips were the cause of being controlled by the Sith. I was convinced there was no way Tech survived but Generation Tech made a fairly convincing argument that has me thinking otherwise now… plus it would just seem poetic if that new dark suited clone is him, he’s been brainwashed or whatever and now Crosshair has to be the one to bring him back… that would be cool.

It's my guess Palpatine is experimenting with Night Sister magic, specifically learning how to bring a spirit back to its body. This will be crucial for his plans with cloning. Assaj will also probably act as a bit of exposition, telling the clones the real purpose of the Clone Wars. Finally, I wonder if she'll act as a bridge to the events happening in the Ahsoka TV show, as her people are from that distant Galaxy.
Q&A: Did Palpatine ever investigate where Padme was while she was giving birth? From the empires POV, she just disappeared for a few hours. Obviously Palp knew anakin didn't kill her.
I think the Bad Batch Season 3 will be a mini-Galaxy revolution of people standing up against the Empire working with the Bad Batch so it’ll be sort of like what happened in Star Wars 9 but in a smaller scale.
@@josermaiz yes I also think it will be mainly clones that will rebel, maybe it will get different than the kamino uprising in legends. But they could possibly do something similar since I would guess the kaminoans are pissed hence their city got blasted,
Q&A: With Assaj returning, could there be the potential of her meeting characters from the OT or ST? Her interacting with Luke, say on Dathomir would be so cool.
Ventress was not only in the original The Clone Wars movies, she was the villain of the first episode of the show. It seems fitting for her to be around for what is essentially the end of the series.
QUESTION: Could Asajj return in live action in a potential next season of Kenobi!? I would love to see her and Obi Wan expand their relationship (flirting) but as a team. Could be a very interesting plot that I don’t see as many people discussing
Would be cool to have Vos and Ventress in the Jedi series of Video Games. He did help with the path and would be good to have a villain transition to good help Cal to work through his darkness because he does still have it.
I remember feeling really frustrated finding out that Assaj was killed in a book. She had so much potential, it all seemed to be waisted. So yeah, I'm really happy now with her being back and hopefully for a long time.
I only just put it together that “plan 99” makes sense as the sacrificing plan… Because the original 99 sacrificed himself… How did I not realize that until now? 😂😂😂
Regarding the retconning of Kanan's Order 66 experience, the Bad Batch matches up pretty good with A New Dawn's account of it. And Filoni wrote the forward so I'm sure JMJ consulted him on it
Ventress was my favorite character from Clone Wars (I like dark side girls) and I'm excited to see her back. I miss her bald look, but I understand why she grew her hair out.
Things that I see making Ventress relevant - She could be there to help show Crosshair that you can come back and be better - She might be sympathetic to Omega, another child lost like her
Q&A: Do you think SW fans are overly critical of retcons from page to screen? I love the books, but I don’t personally mind. I know Disney/lucasfilm said it would be a singular canon vs the canon “tiers” of legends. But with the retcons that have already happened, it doesn’t seem like much has changed since the legends days.
A lot of people do realise that theres more people involved besides Dave Filoni its just that they use his name because he's in the George Lucas position. As the supervisor he would have the final say on things. It also because Dave's name just covers those people, it's just easier than looking up the actual names.
If I'm remembering correctly, Dave Filoni only actually wrote or co-wrote "Aftermath" the bad batch series premiere episode. After s1 ep1, he passed the baton completely to jen corbett, matt mitchnovetz, et al. I was wondering what Asajj returning means overall, then I remembered her relationship with Quinlan Vos & he's one of the 1st people who helped establish the (Jedi/padawan survivor) path. So she might be helping with that + he's probably still in kashyyk & may have already met Gungi BTS. Live action makes sense for a Ventress, since she was mentioned in Ahsoka. Or maybe just an animated series of her own. Like there was a rumored Maul animated series 2yrs ago BUT nothing official has been announced by Lucasfilm/Star Wars. We'll have to wait & see if there'll be any announcements on May 4th.
I recall a storyline from Stargate Atlantis that dwelled into this. I think it was in te 3rd season when a prominent character was killed off, but then the next season a clone of his was found, that had all the memories from an earlier point (like season 2 or something). So he was technically back, but it wasn't him too as well!
I think a lot of the non-clone characters, like the bounty hunters, Roland, Milegi, etc, would all show up if paid enough. So I would love to see Cid spend her precious money on getting all these people together to help the batch...because she's a filthy traitor. Overall I am excited and afraid and happy, but still mourning Tech, and I AAAHH! I am eager to see all of this!
I’d love the series finale to be about the Batch and the Regs they saved from Tantiss, as well as Rex and his group, liberating Pabu from the Empire, who decide Pabu is no longer of worth to Empire, and never return. Kinda like what happened with Lothal.
Either she was resurrected like Maul or the book's ending was retconned which I believe is most likely. The events could still play out exactly the same except that she survived Dooku's force lightning. Once she recovered, she moved on and perhaps her and Quinlan meet up again since we know he survived. They really need to do Dark Disciple as a movie or 8-episode mini-series and resolve this once and for all. The same could be said for the other unfinished CW arcs as well.
I'm not sure how commonly that gets asked but that could be a good question to include in the RotJ version of the 'Frequently Asked Questions' videos they have planned for this year.
Mythologies which have been passed down to us from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away will have slight inconsistencies. It was always a mythology being told to us by others.
I'm surprised at no discussion of her still having the yellow lightsaber, which was left on Dathomir with her body. I think given the significance of the blade color to Lucas, it's naturally significant that she continues to use it in that color after her death. It also supports some form of revival/resurrection. A lightsaber (or crystal) finding its master is a long tradition in Star Wars, so it would be a shame to leave Asajj acquiring a lightsaber with a color so specific and impactful that Ahsoka couldn't have it because of black market blah blah, and nearly inexplicable that she'd keep it (or that it would still be yellow, given the crystals' recently revived agency to transmute). I think it's pretty likely that Sentinel Ventress has come back to preserve the Temple, and we just don't know what (or who) that is yet. And a story that big can't be told in just the Bad Batch. Very exciting.
What if on Star Wars day they release the secret 16th episode, the true finale, extended episode? I know we’ve seen inconsistency with shows like with clone wars season 6 & 7 but this seems like the perfect setup for a star wars day finale release and 16-16-15 feels much weirder than the differences with clone wars episodes.
Heres another question. How did Ventress get her sith saber back? My guess is that, like Son of Dathomir, the arc is going to be slightly reworked. When Ventress was at the temple being pardoned for her war crimes the Jedi returned her now purified sabers as a sign of trust and whatever. Before that she could have used a cortosis blade and lost it when rescuing Vos from Dooku.
Dark desciple was one of the books i was looking to reading soon but i guess I'll push it back now that the whole thing has been spoiled since the trailer. Went would they kill her off in a book anyway. That's like if maul or rex or ahsoka was killed off in a book.
as much as I want to ask if you think Tallie is still alive i am terrified that the answer will be no so instead i will ask why is it often considered a big deal that Imperial TIEs have no shields when other fighters do when in every space battle we see rebel ships take about the same amount of fire to take down when compared to a TIE Fighter?
Idk much about the book so I might be wrong about all this but wasn’t the book a deleted clone wars series arc? I guess it makes sense why Dave would ignore a scrapped story from his show. But we’ll see and maybe I’m wrong on my facts (lol lmk if I am)
To me it’s just weird that specifically the Star Wars animation side of the franchise seems to have this weird thing for playing around with comic and novel stories. I’m at least hoping this leads to more Quinlan involvement since there’s a severe lack of canon material with him imo.
I really want to see some clone rebellion stuff, but it does make the clone retirement more complicated. I feel like the empire would terminate all the clones they could after such conflict.
I had a grim and dark thought, what if there is a clone uprising and a battle for the final episode and in the middle of the battle Darth Vader shows up…. Because if that happens, all bets are off and honestly that scares because the bad batch might not get out alive… hopefully Omega and we know Rex, Wolffe and Gregor but Vader is a wild card we haven’t seen yet and we know he’s around 🤔 And excited to see Ventress again soo it’s going to be an awesome final season hopefully
Honestly, I can see Filoni giving the authors of The Bad Batch-show the order to bring Ventress back from the dead. For the single purpose, Filoni doesn‘t want to do it himself, once he reintroduces Ventress into the mandoverse.
Ventress and Quinlan will come back in Star wars Jedi 3 and live together with the mantis crew on Tanalorr. And they'll also create a country of peace or something, like Thorfinn
If Nightsister magic can just bring people back from the dead, why don’t they just do that with all of their Sisters? Instead of turning them into mindless zombies? Also, at the time of Dark Disciple, Merrin is 12.
Might have to do with the body needing to be preserved. The book mentions her body in “stasis” so maybe it’s only possible when the corpse is still (fully) intact
It would make sense the Bad Batch are shooting at her just like the trailer implies. They don't know she turned so it would be the standard good guy fight when they meet trope.
Well we didn’t see any other lightsabers, so probably just clones, but one thing I noticed is that the shots fired at her are not stun shots like the bad batch has mostly been using, so she could be helping the batch fighting against empirical clones.
I hope we get more Clone Commandos (the “good” batch) vs Bad Batch. The end result of all this genetic manipulation. The prototypes vs the final draft Wolverine vs that other Wolverine in LOGAN.
My copy of Dark Disciple is being suspended over the dead canon sin-bin. When the episode where Ventress appears comes out I will judge whether the book lives or dies.

Thank you for this video.
Holy hell I love the both of you. You are my happy place in this rotten world.Checking in from OTP, Forsyth County
Q&A: Does Dark Disciple cover how Asajj Ventress gets a non-red lightsaber, or is it going to happen in The Bad Batch season 3?
She bought it on the black market. It was probably that of a fallen Jedi and a dealer found it.
Q&A: After the Dark Forces remaster and the KOTOR remake release, which Star Wars games do you want to see get some form of upgrade/rerelease?
I’d love the series finale to be about the Batch and the Regs they saved from Tantiss, as well as Rex and his group, liberating Pabu from the Empire, who decide Pabu is no longer of worth to Empire, and never return. Kinda like what happened with Lothal.
The Harbinger might be the Cad Bane episode
I got teary too when I heard her voice! Asajj!!!

CAT!!!
Q&A: can non force sensitive's see force ghosts
I'm not sure how commonly that gets asked but that could be a good question to include in the RotJ version of the 'Frequently Asked Questions' videos they have planned for this year.
Being force sensitive has nothing to do with seeing a ghost.
Mythologies which have been passed down to us from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away will have slight inconsistencies. It was always a mythology being told to us by others.
Would love it if you got an interview with Christie to talk about Asajj from her point of view :)
Asajj returns to Peridea and mentors Shin Hati...
...I have no idea if the timelines fit but it'd be cool.
Well shin hati mom is Juno exlidoe that was killed by ventress
Q&A: do you think tech could become become like that assasin clone that committed suicide when rex and chuchi caught him in season 2 :
The Cavalry Has Arrived mean that Fennec Shand arrive to help Batch.
If Ventress is actually back, I hope they don't kill her off right away.
How was the empire strips back
Dark desciple was one of the books i was looking to reading soon but i guess I'll push it back now that the whole thing has been spoiled since the trailer. Went would they kill her off in a book anyway. That's like if maul or rex or ahsoka was killed off in a book.
If Sabine can become a Jedi, can Kallus? Also maybe young Kallus will show in the Bad Batch
Many thanks to Mollie and Alex! 😶🌫
I’m so ready for bad batch season 3
as much as I want to ask if you think Tallie is still alive i am terrified that the answer will be no so instead i will ask why is it often considered a big deal that Imperial TIEs have no shields when other fighters do when in every space battle we see rebel ships take about the same amount of fire to take down when compared to a TIE Fighter?
I know the pain of your favorite character being a clearly deceased pilot. You have my condolences.
@@StarWarsExplained I didn't see a body 😤(I am in immeasurable pain)
I would be part of the clone wars generation, I already loved Star wars before it came out but the TCW movie was my first star wars cinema experience.
Idk much about the book so I might be wrong about all this but wasn’t the book a deleted clone wars series arc? I guess it makes sense why Dave would ignore a scrapped story from his show. But we’ll see and maybe I’m wrong on my facts (lol lmk if I am)
It is, but that also meant it canonised those deleted scenes. So if Dave ignored it then that would be a retcon and no one likes retcons :(
The “cavalry” episode could refer to Fennec since that was Ming-na Wen’s character’s nickname on agents of shield
Nothing will be better then the old masquerade. They changed locations when I was still in high school
Lost Stars > Dark Disciple
100%
DD was good, didn’t type that it wasn’t, just LS is that much better imo
To me it’s just weird that specifically the Star Wars animation side of the franchise seems to have this weird thing for playing around with comic and novel stories. I’m at least hoping this leads to more Quinlan involvement since there’s a severe lack of canon material with him imo.
Do you think Syd could have a redemption arc and help the batch?
Would be awesome if she showed up in a hopeless situation and she saves the day
Q&A: Do you think Omega can touch the Force? Perhaps, unknowingly.
The editing has gotten too good 😂😭
Hehe ty 🫶
I wonder if we'll get another Animated Series after The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi?
Okay, now you need to tell us where those TK troopers are! What book are they in?
I really want to see some clone rebellion stuff, but it does make the clone retirement more complicated. I feel like the empire would terminate all the clones they could after such conflict.
I had a grim and dark thought, what if there is a clone uprising and a battle for the final episode and in the middle of the battle Darth Vader shows up…. Because if that happens, all bets are off and honestly that scares because the bad batch might not get out alive… hopefully Omega and we know Rex, Wolffe and Gregor
but Vader is a wild card we haven’t seen yet and we know he’s around 🤔
And excited to see Ventress again soo it’s going to be an awesome final season hopefully
Not everything in Star Wars has to involve that dorky 80s Sith Lord.
Q&A: How do you want the bad batch to end? And how do you think it will end?
Any thoughts on why Echo is MIA for basically the entire trailer? 😰
Honestly, I can see Filoni giving the authors of The Bad Batch-show the order to bring Ventress back from the dead.
For the single purpose, Filoni doesn‘t want to do it himself, once he reintroduces Ventress into the mandoverse.
Star Wars: Dead until proven otherwise: Not proven dead unless there is a body… unless it’s a Dathomerian.
Q&A: Do you think we'll ever get an explanation for why stormtrooper helmets changed between Episodes 7 and 8?
Ventress and Quinlan will come back in Star wars Jedi 3 and live together with the mantis crew on Tanalorr. And they'll also create a country of peace or something, like Thorfinn
If Nightsister magic can just bring people back from the dead, why don’t they just do that with all of their Sisters? Instead of turning them into mindless zombies? Also, at the time of Dark Disciple, Merrin is 12.
Might have to do with the body needing to be preserved. The book mentions her body in “stasis” so maybe it’s only possible when the corpse is still (fully) intact
I got a question, who is Asajj Ventress fighting with her light sabers in the trailer?
It is she fighting a Jedi?
If so, who could it be?
It would make sense the Bad Batch are shooting at her just like the trailer implies. They don't know she turned so it would be the standard good guy fight when they meet trope.
Well we didn’t see any other lightsabers, so probably just clones, but one thing I noticed is that the shots fired at her are not stun shots like the bad batch has mostly been using, so she could be helping the batch fighting against empirical clones.
I think ventress is flashback or she survive wound by dooku
obviously the cavalry is Fennec Shand😁
What if asajj shows up in Dave’s mando movie?
Bad Batch is going to break me and multiple times, I think. I am terrified.😭
I hope we get more Clone Commandos (the “good” batch) vs Bad Batch. The end result of all this genetic manipulation. The prototypes vs the final draft Wolverine vs that other Wolverine in LOGAN.
You wanna go to more live shows huh? 👀
Somehow tech, vintress, and palpatine returned
& Echo, & Maul, & Chewie (after like 30sec), & 3PO’s memory, & Boba… am I forgetting any… ?🤷♂️
On everything I love, if we don’t see Quinlan Vos in live action soon…
The books and comics have always occupied the back seat. Video games are starting to affect the film/show/cartoon.
My copy of Dark Disciple is being suspended over the dead canon sin-bin. When the episode where Ventress appears comes out I will judge whether the book lives or dies.
I’d add it to the Legends collection then. But they officially said it will align so I wouldn’t worry
Red Rocks. A+ concert venue.
I haven't been to the Masquerade since the late 90s. oof.
'Something special planned'
Can you describe Mollie's fancy eggs?Sorry, that sounds bad.
Question: Since Ahsoka introduced travelling tovnew galaxies, could the events of Star Wars Legends have happened in a different galaxy?
no...
