  • I test out how well the Judge performs as a smoker.
    This is a 12.5 hour cook using a thermal barrier and Weber briquettes. Mesquite/Hickory chunk.
    Thank you for watching.

    That Brisket like perfection on cutting board. OKJ should pay you for this one! That last scene, As well as the whole vid, was the best commercial for the Judge, that I have yet seen.

      It’s all new for me with the pork belly, but is supposed to be the best cook on a hog from what I hear. The smoker box is large enough to just put a small grate on top of it and use as a bbq.

    ArnieTex said to put the flat to the heat. It's counterintuitive, I know but he said that because the flat is more dense, it takes longer to render. Live and learn. He's from Texas so I'm going with that on my next brisket.

    Wat did u do 4 burn in & seasoning of your Judge? Hav heard diff Temps & times that it should get to. Some spray w/oil...is that necessary?

    • @GobbaGooBBQ
      @GobbaGooBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I splayed the entire inside with vegetable oil and then heated to a medium hight heat for several hours. This burns off any factory oils and seasons the metal and prevents rusting.it is necessary otherwise the grill will rust out. Great questions!

    • @GobbaGooBBQ

      The Judge is less maintenance while smoking. But you get the best flavor from wood fire in an offset compared to charcoal in the judge. Both produce great bbq but offset is always best. Great question and thanks for watching!!

      Hey Drok - I had to upgrade as well from a weber 22. So I got both the judge and the 26. If I had to pick 1, knowing what i know now about both, after 10months, 1000x down I’d get the judge. The weber is great but the judge KICKS ASS. Well built, very heavy duty and more cooking space for large cuts of meat.
