I laughed my ass off at the successful test. It's just....vomiting out those darts. This speed is for when your target absolutely, POSITIVELY cannot live to see tomorrow.
Burst mode would be a cool software addition. It'd basically be a shot-gun then. Any way to make it *less* accurate? With the way it spews darts, more scatter would let you fill a hall with one long burst.
By definition it wouldn't be a shotgun though. It would still be an automatic but in burst mode.

Less accuracy? Maybe try nerf's elite darts, they never go straight. Of course, you would have to cut them to length.

I saw people calling you out for not making the “first 100 dart per second gun” but I had to reply saying that yours is way more portable! Both blasters are crazy cool. Awesome project!
Not the first dart throwing machine, no, but definitely the first gun!
To be fair, the MOAB also has much more capacity, and that way you don't waste time on reloading
Although both are just impractically fast, not a lot of people are going to use them at that rate of fire, but with how unique both designs are, I can see people slowing them down to have something much more useful in an actual Nerf war
And the fact that the Moab doesn’t fit the criteria that was set for the challenge.
@@reio4641 burst fire is rarely an option with most blasters anyway, it can be achieved with the MOAB (although probably not very easily), and no it's not more portable, remember, one drum equals one second of firing, and carrying even 3 drums can most likely be quite challenging even with specially designed gear to carry them, so in terms of practicality both are useless unless slowed down at least 3 times
But I have to admit, both are probably really fun to use

Absolutely beautifully executed. So many design choices here I have never seen in any other blaster that really shows there's so many more ways to fling foam.

I got a few suggestions: mag backpack, basically a box that holds a few extra mags for quick reloads, a working pez dispenser, a safety shield or something to not get your finger consumed by the machine and shredded by the wobbler and the mag and last, an emergency power disconnect that physically disconnects (and maybe drops) the battery if something goes very wrong.

The backpack would probably not work, because you have to reach behind your back with your arm (something not as swift as grabbing something attached to your chest), and always remember which drums on the backpack are empty, the shield is probably useless because the motor is really not that strong and you have to grip the front portion to hold the thing anyway, and the last one... well, no one has needed that before, and it's not clear why someone would need that now, just disengage the trigger, simple as that
Bonus points if the pez dispenser has a dispension rate of 100 pez per second
For the emergency power off disengaging the trigger doesn't disable all the electronics and still allows for a short circuit.@@normalwaffle

In a way this is more "practical" (as practical as something like this can be) than the minigun because of your magazine system being easier to load and reload than the belt feed.
Definitely want to see you bring this to fruition. Maybe even push it further lol. Let's see just how ridiculous we can get.
Yeah, but see, you can't actually carry more than 4 drums on your gear, not to mention there's no gear to carry the drums in, and the MOAB has more than 4 drums of ammunition or at least the same amount in the backpack, and you just don't have to reload
And after all, nerf Rival ammunition is the way to go for high capacity stuff, you just put 100 rounds or more into your hopper, and now you have your blaster fully refilled, these are mostly designed for rate of fire, not practicality
Still though, both are nice designs, and achieve the 100 dps rate of fire with entirely different methods
It clearly needs a magazine magazine. Like a revolver cylinder but with those drums instead of bullets.

@@SaHaRaSquad honestly, that would probably work. and if you made a magazine holder that fits in a backpack you could have a massive amount of ammo for this, while still having it be somewhat practical.

You have such a strong grasp on code and PCB design and you only ever lightly broach the subject. I think you giving an in-depth explanation of your custom PCB’s would very intriguing.
Really cool seeing stuff like this and how available things are especially with even cheap 3d printers etc. A good 10 years ago at least we were doing this stuff but there was a lot more thinking outside the box to get things done, but also there were more stores with small electronics available at your finger tips

Of course, the holy grail isn't 100 DPS, it's making an auto-loader that will take a jumbled pile of darts and load them neatly into the mag without harming them.

This is an insane accomplishment, congrats on getting it all working.
That hidden second dart is for when you're out of ammo and about to get captured.
The Weebler-wobbler, as you call it, has a lot in common in both form and function with a circular sock knitting machine.
The pez is like built in rations for a dart war when this thing is more durable and war ready, especially if you have clips and make paper darts that can be left around to decompose

Seeing this in a shell with a hardware switch for single, 10 round burst and FULL SEND would be epic. Also a good opportunity to steal a little movie/game lore and work it into the design.

I liked your design process a lot! Instead of bells and whistles (like enclosure, magazin ejector) I'd rather see improvements on reliability and speed, because I believe it to be the bigger challenge.
