I just want to share a little tip about car care. You should never clean the interior with Clorox or Lysol because overtime it will start to crack that leathery plastic interior material that makes up the dash and the center console steering wheel, etc. You can still disinfect by just mixing some rubbing alcohol with water And use a microfiber cloth and then if you want to make it shiny, you can also use things like armor or any kind of interior car care. Do you want to avoid having it dry out and crack. I hope that’s not too intrusive and I hope it helps. Because I know I want my car to last a good 10 years or more and I’m pretty sure you’d want yours to last as well. Otherwise, I’d also love to say that I absolutely love your new set up and I’m excited to see you back at camping again.
Great van set up. I've got a 2020 I've set up. Used to do a lot of hiking, and when I had a stroke and shattered my left hip and leg, I couldn't continue. So I sought out the perfect van for stealth camping. I love my grand caravan for its convertibility.
Thank you! I'm sorry to hear of your health struggles. I had a particularly challenging health year this past year myself, but feel very fortunate that I found a program last month at Mayo Clinic that completely turned things around for me after thinking I wouldn't be able to ever hike again myself. The Grand Caravan really is versatile - im happy you've been able to find a setup that works well for you to stealth in! Sending healing and good vibes your way!
Hi Heather. I really like the new setup. It looks like you have so much more room. I hope the bed will be comfortable for you. Have a safe trip and be safe.
If I were you I would reverse the way I sleep with my head more towards the front of the van. That's because if anybody rear-ends you while you're asleep the first thing they won't hit is your head. Absolutely great setup super mellow just loving it
If I parked on the street I would definitely prioritize that, but most of my overnighting is either backed into campsites or backed into parking lot spaces, so fortunately I don't have to worry about that. My van isn't level, and it's slightly inclined towards the back, so if I reversed in this setup I'd definitely have to do more to level the floor first
Yasss! Visual spaciousness is so important, totally agree. Everytime I think there's nothing left for me to streamlined or pare down, I find something else...and I love it! It feels so good to purge and I can't even describe the high I get when I find some insanely lightweight/compact/efficient/multi-use tool or gadget or solution on Anazon lolol
Thank you so much! I find I don't mind taking a little extra time to setup, but I absolutely *hate* when things take too long to take back out after the trip is over, so I keep trying to simplify things! 😊
❤ Hi girl! 🎉 Your voice is much stronger. It sounds like you are feeling better. I love you changing things up. I bought a stow n go van from your inspiration. One day soon I'm gonna send you pictures of my ride. You will be proud!🥰
My setup is very similar, except I used half of a full size platform bed frame/riser so I could put a few storage boxes underneath it. The frame fit perfectly. Only problem is, now you have a bed frame that I don't need. I wanted to have access to both rear sliding doors in case of a emergency.
Sounds like a good setup! I do like the under the bed storage I get when I use my camp cot as my bed! (But I do like the added headspace without it, even though I'm so short I don't really need it lol)
I like yr new setup. Reminds me of Amanda & Wynston's setup. More floor room. I'm trying to do a similar setup in my Mazda Premacy. Bed with car fridge on one side, portable toilet + storage drawers along the other side.
Thank you! I do think I prefer having the bed on the floor for the added headroom & feeling of spaciousness... it's kind of making me want to try it with a single trifold, too, now! I really need to upgrade to some kind of exterior cargo storage for my outdoor stuff, though, so I don't have to worry about stowing it next to my bed when I'm driving! (Especially in this wet Florida weather lately lol)
I have the same vehicle. I used thin boards and then the puzzle piece flooring from, like, Home Depot. It's flat with a small amount of padding from the flooring material. I do like the soccer mom appearance, too. It makes it very stealthy.
I like your new set up. Only I would switch your fridge and emergency toilet. You won't have to stretch so far when trying to reach the fridge from the front seat. I hope all goes well on your trip and I hope you had a really great Christmas.
Merry Christmss, Heather. How are you feeling? You sound so happy and chipper. May 2025 bring you continued improvement in your health. Rooting for you!
Doing so much better! I'm going back to my position at my fulltimd job in a couple weeks, so I'm excited & a little nervous about that. Fingers crossed all goes smoothly! 🤞🤞
I love how you have so many inspirational set ups! You definitely have a talent for arranging small spaces ❤️ I too have a dodge grand caravan that just lost its shifters top and mine has little sharp things sticking up😩
I have the same mattress!!! Love this. thanks for sharing. can i ask you where you got your steering wheel cover from? did you make that? I want once for my suv. thanks
Nice setup! Where do you keep your clothes? I have to do the setup with the cot because I can't easily get up from the floor. And I have plenty of headroom when I sit on it plus I like the storage underneath.
I store my jammies, cold weather stuff, and other items in my pillowcases, and then I also have a few packing cubes I can throw in my soft storage hamper for longer trips!
Thank you for one of best TV shows relaxing, real, Heather ii am thinking of removing my third row stow in go seat yet ii can figure it for one seat upright. Not sure yet. That is a weird looking tool looks affective. ii don't have the stow ii have the easy removable 2 row seats and a have storage in front of the seats. Great job looks like a brand new vehicle. Mine set up will never look like a Vermont bnb, ii like it that you save the car carpet from wear and tear. Less stuff more comfort. When ii use detail cars if you half a compresser blow you can get a a finer clean, yet Heathet you do a great job with out. Heather Question do you have a video for your DVD players?? ii made the mistake playing videos and running battery very low. You probably won't read this its a long rant??
Thank you so much! I do love the versatility of the stow and go, but when you rove the sears alltogether you get so much extra storage in there, so it definitely is a trade off! That's a good idea with the compressor! I do have a rechargeable portable DVD player, but I never end up using it much - I really should start bringing some movies so I don't have to waste my data on my phone when I watch stuff before bed!
@@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures ii have t-mobile been with for 24 years no data throttle, movies rental adds up. Just wonder if you have the DVD players, plus if you have the video camera ports side of back drivers passenger seat? Heather have to take lesson from you less is more, meaning your set is comfortable and com plates you. ii am still trying to find my first fall spring Cardinal have you seen any yet ????
*CAUTION! I noticed you have a regular doormat on your drivers side floor, not only is that illegal but it might slide, get you accelerator or brake pedal stuck! Severe and deadly accidents have occurred from this! Look it up! The front mats should be fitted for that model and lock in place! Please do this! Like your van set-up!
Thank you for letting me know, I appreciate it! I saw the idea in another video, and thought it was a good way to keep the floor less sandy when camping, but didn't realize it was illegal! I guess I'll have to invest in actual floor mats! For now I'll just move it to the passenger floor since nobody sits there
