Hope this helps... To start a fire without cheating use a small portable rake to collect dry leaves to place in the center of the pit (on the floor) then break some twigs atop, then bigger twigs atop that and finally triangle shape (tepee) your wood over top (for a short time to burn) ... if burning longer in the night then square your wood pieces and keep adding wood in the center as needed. Easy peezy :)

I was there in Nov at site #17, it was a little on the short side. We did go into Ormond to check out new to us restaurants. Also visited a couple country bars in Dantona.
Yes, I noticed that some of the sites were definitely really shallow!! I snagged a last minute opening, so I didn't really get to choose a good site this time, but some of them are a lot nicer than others there! Overall a pretty campground though!
What functional and precious gifts that your kids gifted you! The Goodr glasses match the colors I have planned for my minivan - teal and orange! Enjoying your videos so much, the enjoyment and self care is so apparent. Best...
Hi Heather. That was a noisy campground. Lol. I don't like it when the campsites are so close together either. I love seeing all the palm trees there. It's a freezing cold here in SC today with sleet and snow. Thankfully, not much. Hope you have a great weekend.
I hope you're staying warm!! This was the only warmer day we had in a few weeks, but still better than in SC right now! Thankfully the noise died down pretty early and by 7 or 8pm it was very quiet!
I do like it! It's nice having the extra head space for sure, but I do miss out on the extra under bed storage this way too, so it's a bit of a trade off!
I like your latest setup! It wouldn’t work for me because I’d need a crane (not the bird!) to get up off the bed! Love that your kiddos work together to plan your Christmas gifts.

Soon as I saw the store there I just thought that looks like Tamoka and you didn’t even show the chairs in the back. We did a small little group gathering there last year and enjoyed that little trek up to the statue. I look forward to going back there.
I definitely want to transition to more time on the road once my kiddos are out of the house. Hoping I can transition to more true remote work in a couple of years so I can take longer/more extended trips for weeks or even a month or two at a time! 🤞🤞🤞
Your sandwhich looked delicious. The gifts were so thoughtful, don't sweat the small thing like Firestarter cheat if you to. Thank you for sharing. For home made Firestarter, take empty toilet paper tube stuff it with dryer lint. I put these in a zip lock and keep handy.

I admit to wanting to car camp in the snow at least once, but only for 1 night and that would be enough lol!! I haven't tried that yet, but I plan to do some experimenting with that this year (and attempting a DIY awning)!

Tomoka state park is really nice and close to beach. Check out beach park in Ormond eight on beach, had nice bathrooms and can chill in van with ocean view. Walk on beach too. Great park on river to walk around and just enjoy the view. Have fun

I love that area! I have camped on the Amelia River at Fort Clinch State Park a couple of times now, and it's one of my favorite spots in the state I think!!
I just double checked and it's the 72x30 size - although at some parks it's too small to fit on the table, so the 96x30 one might be a better option sometimes!
You , like me, live in a humid environment. I was told to not have cotton bedding or even a cotton blend because of the humidity it would not keep me warm. Is this true?
Cotton definitely isn't ideal in the cold humidity. I've heard bamboo bedding is a good alternative, and wool in the colder weather is a great option as well!
