eh something to remember is quite a few youtubers have talked about how that guy says and does whatever you want to the point anything with him in it might as well be scripted to a point. Gets even better, in a later video Ned said he was a better father than the lie detector guy and got the response "I will stab you in the eye." Which in general is just a mood but in hindsight it's a lot more of a mood

Honestly, he's sort of known (or at least was at the time, idk now) for not believing in marriage or wanting kids, so I think that's why. Basically, he thinks most marriages will end in divorce. I don't think it's necessarily a Ned/Ariel thing even though it could definitely be interpreted that way now.

Yeah, I think for most people he was the "least favourite" of the Try Guys right from the beginning. The other 3 play off each other so well but Ned always seemed like a third (fourth?) wheel, it was so off-putting. He's not as smart as he thinks he is, and he's by far the least charismatic of the 4, he just came off as awkward.
The part that sucks the most, though, is that the Try Guys as a group basically happened by accident--they became a thing because the 4 of them were randomly in a video together which spun-off into a BuzzFeed miniseries. He got EXTREMELY lucky landing in a group with 3 other guys who were so funny/likeable, and he threw it all away along with his marriage just because he couldn't keep his dick in his pants. Shameful. He should be very embarrassed.

Ned’s entire experience of his relationship is performative, and it’s because he literally proposed as a trauma reaction. In a Buzzfeed video he talks about the beginning of his relationship with Ariel, and he thinks he’s telling a romantic story when he’s just fully describing acting impulsively after a near-death experience.
They started dating when Ned was in his early 20s and shortly after he had a major health scare and less than a week later he was at work and suddenly realized he could just die at any moment, so he left work in the middle of his shift to buy a ring and get a haircut, and showed up at Ariel’s work and immediately proposed.
Obviously, the rest of his marriage is going to feel emotionally lacking from his end because he proposed when his feelings of love for Ariel were tightly wrapped up in trauma-induced feelings about his mortality. He didn’t propose because he actually loved and understood Ariel that much, he proposed because he’s a selfish frat boy with an immortality complex who had a crisis about potentially dying young and alone. It’s literally been observed in psychology studies that immediately following a near death experience people experience heightened love and compassion for those in their life.
Also, I will never get over him making crayons for Wes as a Valentine’s gift for Ariel. When she took them out of the bag and got so excited thinking Ned had made her DIY soap? Heartbreaking. She was so excited for him to do something thoughtful for her. And instead he goes on the company podcast where all the other guys hype up their partners, and he just complains about her cleaning up after him. What a worthless spouse.

You know, before everything was released to the public, Ned was one of the try guys that I enjoyed watching. He was one of my favorites, but I just can't tolerate cheating. Ever, in any circumstance. I was heartbroken by the news, I can't imagine Ariel's point of view. My heart goes out to her and her children.

Looking back on when they were doing the lie detector video the second time, Ned saying that Zach’s monologue was too long when asked what section is the weakest is a total dick thing to say. Yeah, the monologue was long, but it was very heartfelt and touched a lot of us who went to the live show (I went to the one in Philadelphia). You can tell Zach poured so much love and heart in it so to have Ned dump on it like that was like a parent who tells their child that their drawing is “crap” when the kid is just 2

I hate to come off as an "empath" or one of the "I've always hated him" people, especially now that everything's come out, but I vividly remember just... not liking Ned all that much. I've been with the boys since their Buzzfeed days and I don't think I necessarily *hated* Ned but I did dislike him a fair bit. He always felt too aggressive, and he never did play off the other guys all that well. I remember thinking: Is he anything besides the wife guy? Is he anything besides "the married one" or "the father"? And I couldn't find an answer to those questions because damn, besides his marriage and his kids he really had... nothing going for him, huh. My general dislike for him led me to stop watching them shortly after they left Buzzfeed.
... I'm glad he's gone. I've missed the other three's antics. I wish Ariel and the kids, Will, and the Tri Guys the best through all of this.

You can tell he thought he was the smartest of the group and saw himself as the boss. Yes 2nd Try was his idea and yes their first office was his old house, but he constantly treated the others less than. He was scared to go off from the formula, and we saw how he treated Zach in the video where Maggie and Ariel were criticized. He always seemed to limit the guys but somehow brought nothing unique. He GROSSLY used his marriage and kids to garner fans. And now that that acts gone, he’s literally the unlikable frat white man.
Literally any time in the videos when his frat boy persona came out, it was hard to watch.
I see this often with men (especially white men) who haven't been told "no" enough in their lives and they get this big head and expect others to see them the same way.
The worse part is what happens to his family, most importantly his son Wes. He’ll have to grow up knowing his father betrayed his wife, family, and friends in all in a pursuit of selfish desire. So much for the “family man” persona he always portrayed himself as.
