Heart has always been at the very top of my list of female performers. They are a large part of my childhood.
The Runaways were an all-female band that formed the same year Nancy joined Heart.
An all-female band is still the rarest of things, whereas the opposite is more common than ever. I’ve found one that I really love, though: The Swedish band Thundermother. The production on their two most recent albums is so good.
So- we all want you now to listen to Heart singing Stairway to Heaven at the Kennedy Center Honors. If you think Ann sounds good here- wait until you hear her bring Robert Plant to tears on that one!

Secondly, you could make a career or side-career out of music criticism if you really put your mind to it, because you have the passion and the smarts. I would advise you to really study up on music (as you have been doing informally, but I would undertake it more formally), and start writing about it in your free time. Ann followed her then boyfriend to Canada during the Vietnam War because he was dodging the draft. During which Heart recorded their first studio album in a recording studio in Canada. In Vancouver... I believe. Once the War was over they moved back to the States. Sorry! Heart is 100% USA.

Best thing about Heart is that her voice isn't created in a studio. It really is that powerful and her pitch that perfect. Every1 here made good suggestions, but I'm also partial to "These Dreams," which Nancy happened to sing. Also, guys, Ann & Nancy are sisters, which led to the song Barracuda. Some idiot producer (or some such person) suggested there might be a little incest between them & of course, they were outraged. Rightfully so. This band in the early days had quite a dramatic breakup. 2 sisters 2 brothers 2 breakups

They probably don't remember it was heart. This is their normal genre...I'm like that with genres I'm not familiar with, mainly rap..I can't tell one rapper from the other but my husband can just from the way they rap.
I like certain rappers like eminem and tupac and I can tell eminem apart from other rappers but that's it.
I like that song hail mary I think it's called by tupac and my husband had it playing in his shop and I said I like this song and my husband said you listen to tupac all the time out here and I didn't know that but I guess I do..lol

❤ one of my favorite bands. My son took me to see them in 2019 at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. They still jam and sound just the same as they did in the 70's with I saw them then. All of their music is great. Ann & Nancy Wilson are awesome. A MUST watch is the Led Zeppelin Kennedy Center Honors when they sang Stairway to Heaven for the surviving band members. They brought tears to Robert Plant. Watch it you'll love it. Thanks for reacting.

I won this album when it was brand new. The first time I heard this song was on a turntable with four LOUD speakers. I think I wore out that track the first day, and the windows were vibrating. Ann Wilson's voice along with Nancy's masterful guitar just kicks ass!
If you like Heart, you have to watch their performance of Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven from the Kennedy Center Honors. It moved me to tears the night I saw it on CBS. It moved Robert Plant to tears.

Welcome to Heart. Ann on the vocals, one of the greatest female voices in rock, and that beautiful sound on the guitar was her sister Nancy. They are legendary.
Ann Wilson is one of my all-time favorite rock voices - male or female. She's got sort of a Grace Slick feel yet still has her own vibe. Twins, Heart was not just Ann and her Sister Nancy, the two ladies on the album cover, they were a group of six.
And all six are phenomenal!
I'm so glad you guys finally found them Annie Wilson is hands down the greatest female singer in RR history and Nancy is a wizard with that guitar. You must watch them play tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center honors as Robert Plant and the boys are brought to tears by Ann's rendition of Stairway to Heaven. About 3/4 of the way through when Ann REALLY belted the chorus, your reaction made me laugh out loud because that is the best part of that song, for me, and it felt so good to see you two appreciating that particular part with me!
