The trousers look fab on you and thank you for all the tips. When ironing trousers,to make sure you don't have a pronounced line on the seam, especially if you iron your trousers flat, fold your trousers side seam to side seam and iron out the crease. This will give your trousers a much better crease free trouser leg
After watching your sew along and review of the Ethel pants, I purchased the pattern. I had approx. 1 1/2 yards of a crinkle cotton to use for it. I took you advice and moved the pleats, a nice change, makes center front look flatter. I also recut the side pockets to extend to the waist so they will be anchored down and not flop. I have made the Bob pants and this prompted the change. I also slimmed down the outside curve of the legs and I like the change. I should complete them tomorrow and add them to my closet! Thanks for your suggestions.
Thank you SO MUCH for this!! I couldn't make head nor tail of the pattern instructions that came with the pattern, you basically sherpa-ed me through the whole thing. Took your advice on the pleats - definitely a good alteration!
I found you on social media because I was looking for pants inspiration, so keep making pants if that’s what you want to do! These pants look so nice on you
Being more creative with your opening like show the fabric and say I’m gonna show you something mount marvelous I made about this. Nothing is more doll boring and uncreative then. Hi everyone welcome back to my channel. I usually stop looking at about there and I really do want to be involved with sewing blogs.
hi Emily could you please include more detail on how to cut the pattern on the fabric? is it right sides together for one pant leg? This one kind of confused me
There are two pattern pieces, a pant front and a pant back. You’ll cut 2 of each of those as mirror images with the right sides of the fabric together so that you end up with one front and one back each for the right and left sides, if that makes sense!
I really like how they turned out! You have convinced me to make a pair myself! :D Did you also make the top you are wearing? If so, can you share which pattern you used? :)
Thank you!! The top is from the Lara Loungewear Set pattern from Swimstyle, except I made it using a woven fabric instead of knit and added a pocket. I didn’t alter the pattern otherwise, just cut the neckband on the bias!
Thank you for making this great instructional video. I purchased the pattern for these pants the other day, and am awaiting its arrival. I have a question about the pleats. Did you actually move the position of the pleats in addition to flipping them toward the side seams, or did you leave them in place, and just flip them in the opposite direction? Thank you. Patrice
I moved the position of the pleats themselves. As for the direction my preference is to always fold towards the side seam, I didn’t even check what the instructions say haha! So yes to both. Happy sewing!
Why didn’t you show the picture of the pant and it’s options in the beginning? If you’re going to teach, students would benefit from knowing what they’re being taught.
Love the corner trimming on the elastic! What a helpful hint! They turned out so great!
Thank you! Yeah I can’t remember where I picked that tip up but it makes a huge difference.

What type of fabric are you using and wearing looks like cotton natural dyed?
I really enjoyed your clear and confident tutorial. It also helped that I am a fan of Style Arc patterns. Looking forward to many more tutorials.🌷

What pattern is the tshirt from that you’re wearing?
It's a Swimstyle Lara loungewear set tee, but I used woven linen fabric instead of a knit!
Please make videos pattern
