    I have about 10 of their patterns- most are too small/tight- sadly they are all one size so need a bit of work to resize- I should t have got so many until I sewed a few! Great styles!!! And their fabric is amazing as well!!

    I’ve used two Style Arc patterns and they go together really well - you need a little experience to cope with the instructions. I was really pleased with the finished garments.

    Hi Lucy, it's been many years since I have sewn my own clothes. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of your video, you have completely inspired me to start sewing AGAIN! I would definately start with the easy range, I love so many of the designs, its so hard to choose which one first! I would love to tackle a t-shirt one eventually, but I don't have an overlocker, I have no idea whatsoever if you can sew a t-shirt that really would look professional without one. I am popping over to your website to decide on my very first style arc pattern......A big thank you again xxxx

    Your fabric choices look lovely. Style Arc patterns, in my experience are not for the person with top curves. But nice on a flatter chested lady.

    I’ve sewn a lot of Stylearc patterns and love them. Great to find another outlet in the UK.
    On the Stylearc website, there are photographs of the clothes made by the customers, so you can get an idea of how the clothes look on real. Oldies, lol 😉

    I love a lot of their patterns and they are really easy to download. My main criticism is that they don’t (as far as I can find) provide fabric layouts ( am I being lazy?). I would also agree that they don’t hold your hand with instructions. The Paperbag trousers are brilliant. Am currently making the Almy top in a light cotton dobby.

    • @mnoeliarc
      @mnoeliarc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Carol Michell i never follow fabric layouts as i feel they waste a lot of fabric. I’m often able to get the clothes by a lot less fabric than the recommended, sometimes by a metre, which saves me money 😊

    I have a lot of Style Arc patterns. The sizing can be generous. They do give finished garment sizes as well as body sizes so you can choose the amount of ease you prefer.
    The styles are on trend. Instructions can be a bit sparse but take it slowly and carefully and they are doable!

  • @heathermayfield4247
    @heathermayfield4247 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I use Style Arc a lot - their size 20 block fits me exactly I can make their clothes straight out of the envelope. I find the shoulder and upper arm measurement are especially useful. I think you need to be a bit experienced to do the complex patterns as the instructions assume a lot of knowledge but the simple ones are easy even for beginners.

    Wow, these are lovely patterns. I have not seen this range before but do like most of them. Am interested in the different sizing options as I find most shoulder seams too wide for me. Cannot wait to have a go. Nice material choices Lucy, many thanks.

    I have been eyeing some Stylearc patterns lately, but living in the US means pdf for me. I have been reluctant to purchase due to the fact you can buy only one size per pattern! They do give one size either side of your choice size, but between my top and bottom I need more! I don't understand why they can't give more range to sizing in the pdf versions.

    • @Mirak.77
      @Mirak.77 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy all sizes. Choose "Multi sized pdf" in the dropdown menue. I bought both, single sized and multi .... unless its restricted by countries?!

    • @Britgirl58

      @@Mirak.77 On the ones I was looking at you could choose only one size.

    Hi Lucy,
    Thank you for sharing these Style Arc patterns, it great to hear different views on the styles. I have like you been wanting to make a shirt and the Monty shirt pattern looks to be worth trying. Can this be made up in a cotton or viscose fabric? I look forward to see how you make up any of the patterns in a future video 😉🙂

    Have tried twice to purchase a pattern,and gone through the whole order process to be told at the end that Sew Essential cannot continue with this proceedure.I have purchased before without problem.It would be nice too,to be able to see how much fabric is required and the notions needed,in order to order all at the same time.

    I was wondering if you have a tutorial for the Melba Dress pattern that you will share. My sister wants me to make this dress for her and I want to get it right so she will enjoy for years to come.
    Thank you if you have a video for the Melba Dresser pattern but if not, I enjoyed learning about the company 😊

      I agree. I’ve sewed one of the blouses. It came out okay, but I made some mistaskes because of the lacking instruction.

      @jeanettedemosthenous2685 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The instructions can be sparse but I have not found them misleading. Their pattern drafting is superb and all the pieces fit together perfectly. I have made about 5 of their patterns now and am pleased with all of them.

    • @Helenasew
      @Helenasew 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just tried one of their patterns and reviewed it. The portia top. They have a great selection of patterns but the instructions are very minimal. I did half a fashion degree and the instructions are written similar to how my sewing and pattern making teachers would make them. Similar to what they would send out to the seamstresses in production.
      One line per step with no pictures or steps. So harder for beginners. It assumes you already know how to sew.

    Hi Lucy, thanks for this, been wondering about Style Arc for a while but I’d heard the instructions are very poor. Is that fair to say or do you think a beginner could male some of the T shirts. Thanks ps My makes Irene..you tube keeps defaulting to hubbies name for some reason🥱

    Hi Lucy, I really love the style arc patterns and the way you present them. I went on your website to look at them and the fabrics but I live in the USA and I really need to know the prices in dollars before I order can you tell me how to turn that feature on? Thank you so much.

    Hello. I’m working on the Style Arc Bob worn pants and I'm kind of confused as to which of the lines I am supposed to be cutting at. There are dotted lines and solid lines? I'm going with the size 20. Do I cut on the dotted line or the solid line. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!

    Lucy, do you find the pdf good or do you prefer the printed pattern? Just getting back into garments sewing and we always had tissue patterns back in the day. Also , it would be helpful to know fabric amounts before the pattern is in hand. Enjoy your makes Lucy

    I'm a couture dressmaker and decided to try the Style Arc Issy top pattern. I was incredibly disappointed not to mention frustrated...I struggled to work out the construction even though it's only 3 pieces! The instructions are misleading and the diagrams don't match the written instructions. The finished garment has a completely different fit to the illustration plus it was really expensive for what you actually get...I found it easier to understand a Vogue tailored Chanel jacket pattern! If I struggled to work out how to put this together then good luck to others - I won't be buying another pattern from Style Arc...

    I am a sewist, and watch several channels and appreciate all the videos, but please, please, please, no more basic boring t-shirt patterns....if I am going to sew a garment, it's not going to be a t-shirt that I can buy for $8....I understand if it's your first sewing project, but there are so many other pretty garments to sew!!!
