Actually there is a lot of politics in the movie... You will not see the central figures of Indian Freedom Movement anywhere in the movie even in the end credits song.. that being Gandhi and Nehru.. Rajamouli and his father do have leanings to the right wing India.. but they managed to balance it out somewhat by making one of the lead characters from tribal community and bheem taking refuge with a muslim family etc.. Plus imagery of Ramayana will be in full display in the ending.. that is equivalent to if RDJ puts on Jesus robe and starts smiting ppl at the end of Endgame 😁😁😁..Plus the british were colonizers really bad one's at that but many did a lot of good things to be ppl of India... Like penny cook .Even as a Indian I wouldnt want all the british to be protrayed in a bad light .. but then again this is a very enjoyable movie. Less politics in movies the better I think the movie generally is..
Bharata (India) has always as one nation country under which in which there are different empires sharing the same civilizations. It's the arrival of british where they have very brutally psychologically and on the ground make sure that all kingdom's empire in Bharata don't get together. And the enemy of Sanatana Hindus Bharat at that time and has always been the islamists muslims are supported by britishers. This lie myth created by britishers that we are never united. Because for them united means under one umbrella only like britishers are under elizabeth. Kindly know the the truth about our history.
1.Do you make a movie showing Hitler as a grey character? 2. Do you think that shwoing Nazis as evil us equal to saying all Germans are evil? Yes or know ?
I disagree cause After the flogging scene, Ram says "I was fixated on guns, but Bheem made me realize that inspiring the people and giving them courage is the biggest weapon to bring about Freedom" Hence the Pro-guns view isn't the way you think it was.
I've seen RRR seven times now. Twice at the cinema and five times on Netflix. The fact that a 3+ hour film is so highly rewatchable is an incredible feat.
true. I normally dont like Indian action scenes because its over the top but with RRR, yes there were over the top scenes which i dont like but there were also good realistic fight scenes combined with great characters and crazy epic music and NOT SO MUCH ROMANTIC CRAP LUCKILY
He he not quite as crazy as me I've seen it in the theatre nine times in London after travelling 1and a half hours from where I live each time. Once on Netflix. I know iam crazy but I don't care.😄 Loved this film.
@@lk-bf2yp man, you're alegend. I got into the movie after it was taken down from the local theatre, so only had to watch it on Netflix. But I keep going back to watch some of its scenes again and again, and can't sleep without having seen them. In other words, the movie is like a therapy for me.
Chris Gore was the only person who reviewed the RRR Movie 99%. Most of the Non-Indian reviewers did not try to go through the background or the film and its essence! Thanks a lot to you Sir Chris Gore.
Take the opinion of the North Indian audiences and not established self-labelled cinema critics. And we have voted with our feet and wallets. The Hindi speaking audience is open to any content that is good.
i gave it 9 out of 10 on imdb because it's nearly perfect in what it is but 10 is reserved for movies that invented something new. out of 7000 titles i saw i gave only 10 10s to movies (one of the is enthiran) but on my personal 3D scale from -3 to 3 i rate it 3 out of 3 perfect score
*Such* a better movie than most of the empty mainstream stuff. RRR is *entertaining* and doesn't feel like calculated, by-committee, filler. RRR is what I want more movies to be.
I would say don't stop at just watching Indian movies. Watch movies from all over the world. I love French movies. Japan has created some stunning anime movies. There are more examples but I won't bore you with them. It is an eye opener to be sure.
I grew accustomed to falling asleep during movies nowadays, thinking it was me, being tired after a busy work week. But I didn't fall asleep during RRR, and I also don't during older movies of the 90's/00's. Especially most Marvel movies nowadays try so hard to be awesome, that they forget to add personality to the characters.
You’re right. It features men being MEN. It emphasizes honor, duty, love, loyalty, sacrifice, and friendship. The ladies are kind and generous, and portrayed as heroic and noble, in a way that is different from the men BUT NOT INFERIOR. The men are physically strong and emotionally vulnerable WITHOUT BEING WEAK. The heroes deeply revere the ladies in their lives, and represent the best of masculinity. They are the strong trees under which their families and communities stand. The characters are instantly likeable and relatable. I LOVE RRR.
It's because of cultural influences and Influence of Mahabharata, great epic from India. B R Chopras Mahabharat series based on that epic it's is the best version. It's available on TH-cam with English subtitles, its a very old series
I gotta thank Netflix for having RRR in their lineup, otherwise I never would have seen and enjoyed the film. 3 hours sounds rather exhausting but I thought if I can sit through the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, I can do this. And man zero regrets! After watching I immediately blasted my recommendation to friends in our chat group.
@@PhillyCelebTV It's the movie's acronym for "Rise, Roar, Revolt" and is the title of S.S Rajamouli, famous Indian director with beloved Indian movies like "Bahubali" and "Bahubali 2"
My favorite part of RRR was how the dance and musical numbers were actually direct exposition from the narrator / writer to the viewer / audience. The lyrics straight up explain the scene and set up the next one, almost breaking from being lyrical to being prose.
Absolutely 💯, beautifully explained. There are multiple short stories, and character development through it, that build up come together to form the larger movie. And so for 3 hours you're just lost in the awe and admiration of it! There are so many levels and layers of elements infused in the film that work on the audience all at once, the layers of emotions, background score, lyrics, visuals, all working all at once on the flow of the Story! Its like a audio-visual form of Leonardo DaVinci's Paintings. It's a truly Spectacular Masterpiece of Visual Storytelling! ✨
Small correction: Actually India was pretty united during the 1920's. There was a strong national feeling by that time. Most of the Indians were united under the non- violent methods of Gandhi while few other factions , like the men u see in this movie and other great leaders like Bhagat Singh believed in the concept of revolution. Both movements were going on simultaneously. Great analysis btw. Love from India
I think as a foreigner he is trying to say as India as one single political map country .... Later 1947 we have map drawn and we maintain the country this way
True, but India was united from centuries ago with many tribes living along side. India for the past never was divided. Another correction is that India donot have 2 dominating languages it han 100's of languages which change every 50 km you travel. Loved the review
There's nothing Hollywood's put out in years that comes close to how good this movie was. I love everything about it. Has so much going on that I probably watched it 10 to 15 times and still love it
I’d say Dune part 2 was amazing. It was definitely not for everyone but for me, the slow build, the cinematography, the sound and an insane imax experience all made it one of the most artistically rich blockbusters I’ve seen
I have only seen a few movies that arent in english, this being ine of them. my sister in law is Indian and tbh before my brother met her i was pretty clueless and tbh just a little ignorant towards them before i met her and she showed me how wonderful most of them are .I now love knowing about their culture and the history. I watched this movie before her,and i know its not accurate but its amazing and i never probably wouldnt of seen it if it wasnt for my sister in law. love u Rujita 💓 so glad u came into our family's life
I watched 'RRR' a couple of months ago, and it was just unadulterated fun. There were some weird cultural quirks that I found charming and amusing. RRR did things Hollywood is afraid to do today and isn't ashamed to go all-in on its premise.
I've been following this channel for quite a long time and having somebody like Chris gore explain the importance of RRR in today's times is phenomenal
I just loved the interviewer, she waited for him to pour out his feelings about the movie and did not interrupt him in between even though she watched it herself and also had lots to share while he was resonating..I liked how she did this interview. Kudos to her...
I feel like, in most American blockbusters, potentially awesome moments always have a wink to the audience. Like a small joke to undercut the awesome moment, or something small like that. They don’t go all-in anymore. It’s that postmodern sense of irony and cynicism kinda eking in. RRR was so sincere and unapologetic with its emotions, and with its pure badassery, I just fell in love with it.
i've been a long-time fan of Indian cinema. and i can say, Indian cinema is great at introducing and establishing characters, and setting up the story. their action films always have great action setups at the beginning, which establish the main characters solidly. i enjoyed RRR tremendously, but personally i love Baahubali more.
Totally with you on BaahuBali! Both The Beginning and The Conclusion. For me, better than RRR. Biggest let down in RRR is the English/Caucasian actors - sub par. Even Ray Stevenson is not good. I don't know if the director didn't convey what he wanted, if there was a language barrier, if there is a different acting style/approach in Indian cinema that non-Indian actors aren't able to deliver on - because clearly the indigenous actors deliver well. I started watching it and turned it off. Only finished it after I saw so many rave reviews - so I came back to it, to find out why. Overall, it's got some great action sequences and nice moments - but I'm confused why people are raving about it. I'd take Baahubali over RRR any day.
It is so great to hear Chris talk about a movie that he is encouraged by. Perhaps we should find new outlets for film now that Hollywood seems so spent.
@@poppoyi hello NK iam thelugu and have been brought up in england.saw the film 9times in theatres in London.people were loving the songs. The audience had all nationalities. He is a musical master. When bahublli was a hit the London orchestra played his music live with bahubali film playing in the background.its on you tube if you want to watch it.dont worry those who don't know will discover his musical genius one day.
The fact that RRR can get me the same excitement, the same "f**k yeah!" moment from Endgame without tens of movies span across a decade before, is a testament to how incredibly epic this movie are!
My first introduction to Indian films was Bahubali. RRR is possibly the greatest movie I’ve ever seen. So unashamedly fun, while also being emotionally gripping. The “Load….aim….shoot.” Flashback scene is absolutely amazing.
Historically almost all Indian movies use the ancient Indian idea of Nava-rasa (which roughly translates to The 9 emotions evoked in the audience through an art form). The so-called critics in India call such a movie "masala movie". These are the people responsible for the wrong branding Indian movies get within India and around the world. Indian movies are made to give a good time to the viewer, not to get approval from these critics or the West. They are just fun to watch. It is a celebration.
But the issue is people seem to think all Indian movies are over the top, exaggerated, mass entertainers which is not the case. There are beautiful, realistic and heart touching movies that could give many oscar movies a run for their money. In mollywood alone many are there like Kumbalangi Nights, Maheshinte Prathikaram, Ee ma yau etc. But most people even in India do not know much about them.
Indian movies are of low quality...mostly over top Masada entertainer it's fact...RRR is nothing infront of Avatar or lord of rings or other top notch films...Even some good European films ...indian movie needs to grow Ling way
Few easter eggs and fun facts of RRR: 1) Both the characters Raju and Bheem were inspired from 2 real indian freedom fighters and revolutionists from indian history, Alluri seeta rama raju from andhra pradesh and Komuram bheem from telangana, ie, from the two telugu speaking states, in history both of them Raju and bheem were from same timeline but never met each other in reality, in original history they both went missing for 4 years during this 1920 time period, no one knows where they went and what they did, but after 4 years they both returned to their villages and fought their own fights and both sacrificed their lives for our country, Director rajamouli hv woven a fictional story that what happens if they met each other, and exchange their ideas and ideologies in the time period they went missing... That's how this movie was born.... This movie is about India's freedom from british rule, this movie was about friendship between 2 states... 2) When bahubali was released many people began to nitpick about small things in the movie, they began to look for flaws, one such flaw which was pointed out by many people is the iconic scene where prabhas makes the huge jump in the waterfall, many pointed out that he should take a run up to make such a huge jump, instead he just jumps from the edge, thats the reason y in RRR When ram and bheem meet for the 1st time, to rescue the kid under the bridge while they jump down the bridge they take a run up in rajamouli style with a horse n a bike🤣🤣 guess what rajamouli learns from his mistakes, even in the same scene we can see ram charan takes a flag dips it in the water n makes it wet before he throws it to jr NTR, so that when jr NTR wraps it around it won't catch fire 🔥🔥... The imagination n brilliance of rajamouli sir🔥🔥 Respect👍👍 3) Unlike many other indian movies which involve english actors, in RRR we find the performances of english actors far better, that's because rajamouli approached professionals, the one who played Scott is "Ray Stevenson" one who acted in "Thor" movies, one who played lady Scott is "Alison doody" the lead actress from indiana jones.... 4) The sets u can see in nacho nacho or naatu naatu song, the palace behind is actually President's palace in Ukraine..After finishing the movie n returning to india, war was started in ukraine.... 5) When ram captures bheem's clan member, he catches a snake n attacks ram even though he is tied, that man catching the snake is justified coz they r gond tribals, they know everything abt every animal, how to trap and catch them, n how to treat animal attacks using natural ayurvedic remedies, since they were born n brought up in jungle along with those animals n plants, that's how even jr NTR is able to tame n control the animals during interval sequence.... 6) That song jr NTR sings while being whipped "komaram bheemudo", few non indian and north indian audience may find the song lil distasteful because they r unaware of the importance of the song, the gond tribe (the telangana people) who faced many tortures under the nijam rule, hv developed a habit of singing folklore songs explaining their pain n oppression for years, these songs kind of made those people stronger n revolt against nijams, similarly at the end of the song people revolt, even now a days these songs r famous in Telangana area, we andhra n telangana people r familiar with such songs, but north indian n non indian audience may not hv any idea abt it, even the song komaram bheemudo was written by one of the famous revolutionary singer from telangana area, if u concentrate on the lyrics of the song we can feel the oppression his people r facing.... 7) the subtext or easter egg about the "Barbed whip" that lady scott threw to torture jr NTR is that in the climax when the Scott's empire blows up when lady scott died we can see her body hanging in "Barbed wires" implying that she finally got what she deserved.... "karma is a bitch"🤭🤭🤣 8) near the climax when jr NTR knocks on the floor to find ram who was imprisoned in the ground, he actually knocks the same beats of Nacho Nacho song, so that only ram charan could recognise it's him rather than other possible prisoners, ram charan also reciprocates by knocking the same beat of nacho nacho, even in the earlier scene when ram charam is bit by snake he plays the same beats to communicate with jr NTR, the cinematic brilliance of rajamouli for using a song in so many ways giving easter eggs all the way around is lit🔥🔥🔥 hatsoff to rajamouli 🙏 9) In a scene where they show the security measures of the palace they had 2 doors at entrance, only after closing the 1st door they will open 2nd door, if we observe both the doors clearly and also if we listen to the creek sounds of both doors, we would know the outer door is a wooden one, and the inner door is a metal one, so to rescue malli they can break the outer door but they can't break the inner door, that's the reason y the character jhangu climbs a tree and listens for the 2nd door to open to rescue malli in interval scene... Every small detail in this movie is well planned and well executed... 10) the scene about bheem carrying ram in the climax sequence may seem a bit overemphasized, but even earlier in the film in dosti song there was a shot giving easter eggs, where we can see jr ntr doing squats on the ground lifting ram charan, then ram charan does pull ups holding a tree branch, this way rajamouli is planting an idea subconsciously to his audience that jr ntr got lower body strength n ram charan got upper body strength... So that audience get convinced during the climax scene where bheem carries ram... Even the scene seems physically impossible, rajamouli never hesitates to show his ideas n imaginations in the most convincing way possible, that scene may be impossible but u could never find any other director pulling of such a scene in any film like rajamouli... Respect.... 11) The same way In climax fight sequence bheem lifting a bike looks over the top for sure, but do u know those bikes were actually used during second world war time so that in any unforeseen situation during war the soldiers can actually carry the bikes, those bikes weight around 55kgs only, i agree that even 55 kg bike travelling at 50kmph velocity is difficult to be lifted... But look at the way it was imagined, presented, picturized, the mesmerising cinematography in that scene, the kind of goosebumps it gave us, we should watch the movie for its epicness, rather than being nitpicky about everything.... 12) At the climax that transformation of ram charan🔥🔥, many people thought that was sree ram's avatar, there r mythological references to the movie for sure but its not just sree ram's avatar, its actually the original look of Alluri seeta rama raju (the freedom fighter ram charan was playing), alluri seeta rama raju in history was well learnt man who wears those kashayam clothes fights with bow n arrows, probably the best archer india has ever had, he fought against britishers he got weapons n guns by attacking police stations n british camps, he used the same weapons to attack britishers with his trusted men... Even he was shot dead by britishers in the freedom struggle... Legend says that britishers put around 100 bullets in his body n ruthlessly killed him... At the end of the film rajamouli showed ram n bheem in their original looks ram wearing kashayam clothes, with long hair n beard, bheem with a pagdi on his head n those clothes gond people used to wear... 13) the final RRR fact, For the interval sequence with animals rajamouli shot for around 65 nights, each night they spent around 75lakhs for the shoot itself... In that interval sequence they had to imagine animals were there n fight accordingly, for that to happen n so that each n every background artist to be in sync with the CG animals rajamouli employed different tactics while shooting which were not even used in Hollywood movies, a) for bear they used a person wearing green blanket, since the movement of bear is slow similar to a human being... b)For shots with tiger, tiger moves much faster than humans, so they can't just place a human with green blanket, so rajamouli positioned laser lights following the head position of the tiger, so that camera man n actors can imagine the position of tiger n act accordingly. c) for wolves they used dogs which were trained to catch a ball, while shooting the sequence they randomly throw the balls in middle of men, so the dogs chase the balls, in that way rajamouli captured peoples reactions to wolves, later on during CG he replaced the dogs with wolves... d) for other fast moving animals like deers, they used remote controlled cars moving in between the actors....
As a fellow filmmaker myself- I have seen the film 5 times and there is always something new you learn. Very nicely summarized by Mr. Chris Gore. I really loved the review. BTW In India a large section has rediculed the film for being too cheesy and for it's over the top action. Which I find amusing because we have always loved films like RRR but in pursuit of creating films similar to Hollywood. The Indian filmmakers have lost touch with there masses and hence the failure of some recent bollywood films. I hope we all learn from Rajamouli sir and make films which are grounded in our Indian reality.
It may be a change of pace for the Western audience, but Indian movies have always been that way and gets a bit repetitive.. I sometimes enjoy when it's decently made but not always..
The Indian reality is not over the top acting. We have been trained to like certain films. I for one completely disliked RRR and there is nothing un-Indian about it. I don't like movies that are cheesy with a wafer thin plot meant to pander to the masses. I mean, the masses are there simply to enjoy the film, which is fine. But that shouldn't be considered the barometer of film making. I'll just recluse myself into watching fantastical movies that are still grounded in reality (not the reality of a specific country). It is ironic that he must say that Hollywood movies must aspire to be like RRR, because they already make over the top, squirm-inspiring movies, i.e., most Marvel movies. I'm baffled by people's love for this film, as much as I am bothered by people's love for Love and Thunder and many other Hollywood films. We are already descending into such senseless, money minting movie making trend, with at least 5 movies replicating RRR's formula. Of course, most Indian movies have always been that way.
@@AjayKumar-hh6hx Let me guess you like Nolan movies. With an exposition dump every 5 mins. Plot so thick you could eat it for days. And no one even remembers the name of the lead character at the end 😂
@@well_said7846 You have a poor guessing power. Let me give you an example. I do like Interstellar, but the ending (power of love bs) was so cliche i wouldn't be surprised if Nolan time travelled and got that idea from rrr. Come up with a less biased argument next time.
Wonderful story telling by rajamouli. I was lost in time for 3 hours and didn't even take a break. Such an emotional rollercoaster movie and I shed tears in many scenes. Great acting by the 2 heroes. Indian cinema is really making history. Rajamouli is a perfectionist.
So true bro. When I first watched RRR, I didn't realize it was 3 hours because the time passed by like it was a snap of a finger. Later on, I got to know that it was 3 hours long and I was like "Really?"
I have seen RRR ..... & Have say .... It was one of the most epic action pack 3 hours of life ..... If have to rate the movie , I will give 9.5/10 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I am Tamil .. I love Rajmouli gaaru... My number 1 respected Director Ever i seen in my life...God bless him..!!!!!!! proud to be a and indian..! Sooo proud of him..!!!
One Of My Friend Recommended me to watch RRR Movie ..I Didn't Watched it Bcz it was 3 Hrs Long Even After 1 Month of His Request . But Just Some Weeks Ago ,I again Saw RRR Title on Netflix . Just Started watching With Low Expectations, Damn After 10 mins in Movie Even My Family Joined Me And We Watched it Together . It's One of The Best Family Entertainment Movie 😍❤️. Loved It & will Tell My Friends Also To Watch It 🔥. PS : I Just Found Out RRR also Have Big Fandom
@Red Blood Blue Moon naah...there're a lot of movies in india with the huge fandom, not only in bollywood but in South indian movies(tollywood and sandalwood) also.
Never would have dreamed of watching this without your recommendation. What a phenomenal film. Watched half as a family and very excited to watch the second half today.
Some details about the movie Characters and Historical back story: Alluri Sita Rama Raju, Born in a Andhra Kshatriya family in the West-Godavari (a district of present Indian state Andhra Pradesh on the banks of river "Godavari"), to Alluri Venkata Rama Raju and his wife Suryanarayanamma. He was raised by his uncle in Bhimavaram, after his parents died when he was 12. He did his education also got trained in horse riding and archery. He was a well civilized man, who felt that the main evil was happening in the forests, that the tribals are the ones really being suppressed and exploited the most by british and went into forests and dedicated his whole life for helping them fight british, although wasn't a tribal himself the tribals saw him as a Leader and followed him. He is revered and remembered not just as a great revolutionary, but also as a symbol of unshakable Honesty & Commitment, Admirable Character. Since he went into forests for helping tribals, he actually used to wear Saffron clothing and used bow & arrows (was also a sharp shooter) which resembled hindu god "RAM". It was his approach to stand as a symbol of inspiration for tribals to revolt. Some believe that Alluri Rama Raju taking "Brahmacharya Sanyas" (divine way of life, without love or attachment to any women) for the revolution was the reason for his Saffron attire. He didn't marry his love Sita, Sacrificing his love and life for revolution, and Sita understood that and lived as an admirer of him, till her death. After her death, Raju changed his name from Alluri Rama Raju to Alluri Sita Rama Raju. He used to do guerilla raids on British police stations (after informing & challenging them that he's going to come & attack and stop him if they can) and collect guns & weapons, using an army of armed tribals by training them. Although they knew where he lives, It's said that it costed more than a million even in those days, for the british to finally capture and execute him. He was only 26 when he died. They killed Rama Raju unethically while he's unarmed, performing a morning Prayer. Komaram Bheem, a tribal himself from gond tribes of Adilabad (a district of the present Indian state "Telangana") He was an extremely strong man with tribal innocence & intensely emotional nature, and is rumoured to hunt a tiger by himself. He used to wear muslim disguises during his revolt against Nizam. He died fighting the Nizam's of Bhagyanagaram (Present day Hyderabad) In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana) everyone knows these things, maybe not in other states. They were referred as Sri Ram and Bheemasen of Ramayanam & Mahabharatam respectively (since long back before the movies even existed !!) from their Names and features (Rama Raju's- Saffron Attire, was a Kshatriya, went to forests and made an army with tribals, not just fought evil but lived with unshakable Character & Virtues, his love was also a "Sita" and he remained true to her even after her death. Komaram Bheem- Physical strength, Wild attacking nature, Perseverance) being similar and out of the level of reverence they've achieved from people. Both left their homes almost in the same period and then returned after some time and started their revolutions against British and Nizam in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana respectively. After returning home, Rama Raju started wearing Saffron clothing till the day he died fighting for tribals (known as "Rampa Rebellion", with motto "Manade Rajyam" which translates to.. "Ours is this kingdom" against British in Visakhapatnam agency), and Bheem came back as an educated man and started his rebellion (with motto.. Jal, Jangal, Jameen.. with translates to Water, Forest & Soil..) As no one has a clear idea about what happened to them in that period when they left, and what made them become revolutionaries.. the movie writer wrote a Fictional tale of friendship between the two, that they met and became friends and Bheem was the one who gave Rama Raju a Saffron attire and that he got educated himself from Rama Raju, connecting everything that was remembered in telugu people hearts.. if we see carefully, we can see all these details used in some way, in the movie clearly.. Other details : -Rama Raju is also referred by people as "Manyam Dhora".. which translates to King of the Wild Forests and Komaram Bheem is praised as "Gondu Bebbuli".. which translates to Ferocious Tiger of Gond tribes. These names are also referred in the Original movie (Telugu or Tollywood version available on Disney plus Hotstar & Zee5). The one in Netflix is Hindi dubbed/ bollywood version. The story of Alluri Sita Rama Raju was first made a movie by Actor Krishna (Father of Telugu actor Mahesh babu). Back then even top Actors were afraid of playing the character of Rama Raju, as if not done properly it may hurt people's feelings (There are literally temples built for Rama Raju !!). It became a Sensational Blockbuster breaking all the records and brought the actor a never ending fame in Telugu film industry. -Also The Indian Flag used throughout the movie was the older Berlin Committee Flag (designed by Madame Bhikaji Cama, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar & Shyamji Krishna Varma) corresponding to the time period. (Current Indian flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya) -The bike used by Bheem was the older world war version which were designed lightweight for men to lift and carry them when required. About language "Telugu" : 1. Only language in the Eastern world to have every word ending in a vowel sound. Thereby referred as "Italian of the East". 2. Telugu has been voted to have the second-best script in the world, after Korean by International Alphabet Association. 3. It's one of the 6 Classical languages of India. 4. It's the 15th most spoken language in the world and 3rd most spoken language wrt India, and the Largest of all Dravidian (South-Indian) languages. Great poets like Rabindranath Tagore and many kings like Sri Krishnadevaraya who are non-telugu natives, praised it as the sweetest of all the Indian languages.. Easy to learn Language, the words and their corresponding phonetics always match
Hi Chris, a small correction there are 5 major film language industries here in India. For the Hindi language, they make movies from Bollywood, for the Telugu language they make movies from Tollywood, for Tamil language movies they make movies from Kollywood, Kannada language movies are made in sandalwood and Malayalam movies are made from Mollywood industry. Other than these 5 languages there are many other languages spoken across the country they have their own cinema, like Bengali cinema, Bhojpuri cinema, and even from the northeast of India. Previously the west was only aware of Bollywood generalizing the whole of India, but RRR has changed that. There are 5 major film industries in India.
It's a paid PR review.. you can clearly see that.. the way he talks about the movie , so has either done lots of research but if so, he would know that there are many other regional cinemas.. or someone has given him what to say.. thats why he said Tollywood atleast 5-6 times.. RRR marketing team has taken the TH-cam way to promote thier movie..
@@ChatPOPPAT if it was paid PR I’m fairly certain that whoever made the script would have made sure that he would sound lot less ignorant about Indian languages and their movie industries. Why do you have to be so negative? Literally everyone in the west that has watched RRR are gushing about it including Jermy Jahns, Critical drinker, Honest Trailers and literally all the major big time reviewers and content creators. I don’t think Rajamouli is paying them all the money to say good things about the movie.
There are no '5 major languages' smh 🙄 Are you a Westerner? India recognises 22 official languages bc there are 28 states and each state has their own language. There is no state superior to anyone. Every Indian knows this.
LOVED “RRR”; what a fun ride! If anyone wants to know what genre it is, say “All of them!” It’s weird that it’s so tough to get my fellow Americans to watch it. It literally has everything!
There's 22 officially recognized languages in India with another 2000 different dialects. There's a minimum of a dozen different major movie industries within India. The western audiences have just learnt the name of the second one since Bollywood , there's 10 more to go , we're patient and hopeful that someday you'll get to know all 12 and the remaining upcoming industries totalling to about 30 different industries in entirety !
I wouldn't go as far to question if Hollywood can make movies like RRR. I think Everything Everywhere All At Once and Top Maverick proved they can deliver on these big genre stories. The question is will they do it consistently?
EEAAO is a Hollywood production, yes, but the story very much isn't. Honest and rooted storytelling without preachiness is becoming a rarity in Hollywood. Happy that we got Top Gun Maverick this year to stem the tide a bit.
I don't know if the world saw it in 3D , but we in India saw it in IMAX 3D Dolby Atmos. During the interval fight scene, when the tiger jumps on a man, a lady beside me fell of the chair. We felt every grain of the film. The whole movie was on another level and we enjoyed each and every moment of it. We whistle, we scream and clap with joy throughout the film. For next Rajamouli film, everyone please come to India (or any good Indian film). The crowd and celebrations will be out of this world and nearly shocking to you people. In Telugu states, the films are literally religion to us.
There is not just two but many films industries in Indian. Bollywood, tollywood, Mollywood, sandelwood, Kollywood... Well the list goes on. They all of them have their distinctive identity of film making style and story telling.
India has perhaps 100 different film industries, and it's not often that movies have sweeping impacts across different region so when they do (like RRR), you know it's something special.
As an Indian I loved your feedback after watching RRR. I saw it yesterday on the big screen and totally enjoyed it. Just to correct you there- Bollywood and Tollywood are not the only main film industries in India. There are four different major industries in the South of India of which Telugu is one of the languages spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Like that there is Tamil Industry from Tamil Nadu, Malayalam film industry from Kerala (where I come from) and Kannada from Karnataka. Besides the South and Bollywood (based in Mumbai), there are other industries which might not be so prominent as the aforementioned but still make good films. In fact, Bengali films from East of India were forerunners of artistic and parallel films at one point. In a nutshell there are several film industries in India and every state has its own respective language. The most popular is Bollywood. 'RRR' is not a Bollywood film... you could either call it Telugu film or an Indian film to be fair. When you condense all Indian films as Bollywood, it makes sound derivative and stereotypical of all Indian films which is definitely not at all even remotely close to the actual representation of Indian films.
Just finished RRR yesterday. Brilliant. I also love how the guns story is turned on its head - what he eventually does with the guns that he has access to
1. Colonisers being villans is not for one section of people , For Indians there are nothing less than what Hitler is to Europe. Some examples are bengal famine and jaliane wala bag. 2. About gun freedom, Indian movies are for entertainment and all themes are organic, Indian movies are not as politically driven or as Wok as Hollywood. 3. There are 22 officially recognised languages in India with 10,000+ dialects. Of which there are 5 major film Industries, Bollyywood for Hindhi, Tollywood for Telugu, Kollywood for Tamil, Sandalwood for Kannada and Mollywood for Malayalam. excluding these 5 there are still other minor Film industries.
I recommend Eega (2012) directed by the RRR director. It's about a fly taking revenge on the villain who killed him in his previous life. Bahubali 1&2 and 100 soldiers fight scene from Magadheera (2009) from SS Rajamouli
I just watched Top Gun: Maverick for the first time last night and I have to say it single-handedly restored my faith in movies moving forward. What a masterpiece.
I really enjoyed Top Gun. I have to say, though, that watching RRR a few days later revealed it to be facile western propaganda, as fun as it was. It has to invent an enemy (an imaginary Iran that broke the nuclear treaty, whereas in reality we broke it) which it intentionally keeps faceless and nameless so that we can focus on what heroes we are and ignore the fact that across the world, we are what the British are in RRR.
What Chris described here is why so many ppl like anime and Korean dramas. Nuanced compelling stories, character development and characters we can identify with based on character, not simply what they look like. I didn't know about this movie and I'm definitely going to watch it.
Absolutely fantastic entertainment. I watched it by myself on Netflix, but I imagine it would have been so much more epic at a cinema with an audience.

I discovered Gore this week because of you guys, and he became my favorite "Internet person"; I freaking love his honest, and his opinions. I also discovered his Film Threat podcast, and it's a blast. Thank you Film Courage!
I first heard Chris when I picked up the infamous Corman Fantastic Four cover of Film Threat, easily the greatest film magazine of all time, imo. He even accepted an article I wrote on spec, and even though it was never printed, he and his people were super cool. I'm stoked to see people finally discovering him. We don't have a sort of national film critic, sort of a laureate, since Roger Ebert died. Chris is the closest thing we have.
I love how eloquent Chris Gore is. His perspectives and observations are truly fascinating. Sometimes it takes a third person to let us know our worth. I will watch this movie with new eyes and mindset now. Great interview!
SPOILERS: One small correction: The thread about Ram's mission, although supports guns at the start, does get actually changed with the sacrifice of Bheem (the torture scene). Ram then realizes that the revolution will come from the People not Guns. Indian revolution comprised of two sides - with violence (Bhagat singh for example) and non-violence( Gandhi). India at its current political climate, still doesn't support Guns or 2nd amendment
What are you saying 2nd amendment is irrelevant to india as it doesn't exist.guns are a no issue in india.there is no pro or anti guns because it is irrelevant from Indian perspective.
No , his stance on gun was never affected by that torture scene , he just had realisation that more than gun there are other virtues or thing that can unite people and the guns are instrument of freedom not the only requirement.
A bigger example would be Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, creator of Indian National Army. Some would say one of the primary reasons British actually left India. A figure who's had multiple pretty successful films but alas, it wasn't as entertaining lol. India still doesn't have as much of an issue with guns, because localised gun violence isn't a thing.
Disagree. Ram is realizing he needs BOTH the emotional support of folks and weapons to defeat the British. Ram still supports the use of various weapons including guns to level the playing field. FYI, I am Indian and grew up in the States since age 2. I support the 2nd amendment for that reason too. To level the playing field as the police can't be there in time to help me when seconds count.
If was RRR was Superhero movie, then it has one of the greatest origin story of all time.... After seeing RRR, I wanted SS Rajamouli to direct, Thor Love and Thunder, Thor could have been more badass. Gorr could be terrific, and Action sequences will be creative... His next movie is Globetrotting Action adventure, Indiana Jones or James bond type but with Indian roots.... SS Rajamouli is arguably most successful Indian Director...🙌
Of course he turned to Film Courage so Film Threat fans wouldn't get tired of his ranting about RRR on his own channel ;) (I jest-- thank you, Film Courage, for this interview.)
You will love this movie more if u deeply analyze every metaphoric reference of this movie cuz SS Rajamouli shows a movie with less cool dialogue, in his movies the imagery talks more than dialogue... I have analyzed some deep meanings of some scenes and there are more scenes like these The whole bridge sequence is cool but at the same time, it also summarizes the whole movie plot. Ram's mission is regarding the country (jumps with a Flag) and Bheem's mission is to save the child from his tribe (jumps to get the child) and in this journey, they exchange their missions (exchange of flag and child) and eventually succeed helping each other. The chariot was on fire cuz when Ram came, the place was full of wild animals and the animals are afraid of Fire so to get rid of animals on his way to Bheem, he did that and here came with director 1000 IQ, it also represents that Ram is a Fire. I want to tell u something about Water and Fire: Somebody asked Rajamouli why he chooses Water & Fire as a friend it is never possible cuz they r opposites and don't like each other. Rajamouli replied that they r opposites but if they come together and work with each other they can do amazing things like they can create steam which can run the motor of this whole world. 1. There is a scene during the friendship montage playing when both of them run beside the train, and the train releases steam. Most people will think it is just for looking gorgeous but it is not. The thing is when water( Bheem) & fire(Ram) come together they create steam. It is the reference and also looks beautiful. 2. When the INTERRRVAL title card was about to come, there was a scene where the blood drops on Ram's hand from his eye and it creates steam if u look deeply u will see that. There are many references I can't tell more. In his movies, he does not add any cool dialogue he just shows imagery and reference. If u see then u will not see any cool dialogues in his movies...his movie making is different And in his movie a hero is a hero who has no limits, he's not here to describe anyone about realistic, physics-fail things
RRR is indeed a gem. Mostly because Rajamouli had this crazy idea to imagine whatwould happen if 2 people from different universes will meet. Like Batman and Wolverine. So he picked 2 freedom fighters, who never met in their real lives, based them on 2 gods from the ancient historical epics of India- The Ramayana and Mahabharata. With more emphasis on Ramayana. And there you go. Infact the whole climax fight scene of Bheem carrying Rama on his shoulder is how the final battle was fought in Ramayana. That was the inspiration for the scene. Including Bheem's medicinal herbs. And so many other symbolism he used which I think people in the west would find hard to follow. But still i love how much love this movie is getting. Do you think it deserves to be in the nominations for oscars?
RRR will be releasing in Japan in a couple weeks. I'll have to finally check it out in a theater. (On side note: Top Gun: Maverick is still showing at my preferred theater and it's popular enough that they just did a special double feature with the original movie.)
@@pdthinks Unfortunately, no. I suddenly had a work assignment on the only days they were showing it. I've heard, though, that RRR is still showing down in Tokyo and that a colleague of mine has been unable to get a ticket they sell out so fast.

Does 'Everything, Everywhere, All At once' count as a "Hollywood" film? I was a bit jaded by blockbusters coming out of hollywood, but that movie blew my mind with it's inventiveness, heart, and audacity. It can be done, you just have to get away from the biggest players that churn out mediocrity for cash
Loved it! Such creativity. Thank you, Farrel! Good question, is it considered "Hollywood?" Watched the movie at an arthouse theater which is now (sadly) closed.
I haven't seen it but it begs the question.....Is everything done and seen? I'm in the film line and this question often comes up. They say there are only about 8 stories which have been repackaged since eternity(man vs man, man vs nature etc). What if the cinema medium has reached its zenith? Certainly with regards to cgi and effects it has.....a giant ocean liner flying over NYC won't do anything for the masses in this day and age. What if all stories have also been told. I miss the 90s films. They were generic.....Dante's Peak, Titanic, T2, Armageddon etc....but there was a filmic quality to them that made them enjoyable.

Proud to be a telugu guy. Hollywood directors and actors who are recognised worldwide with their art are recognising our tollywood by terming and praising with Industry name. Thankyou S.S Rajamouli sir for making telugu people proud worldwide.
Adding more insights to this: Hindi, language in which Bollywood makes its movies, is the most spoken language in India. Then there are still many other film industries that make movies in their own regional languages such as Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati and the list goes on...Telugu industry is called Tollywood (where RRR comes from).
Correct your facts about India. Britishers didn't unite India, infact they tried to devide Indian society. India was fighting unitedly from every corner of country against colonists. Loved and always love your thoughts about movies though
Interesting fact about the director SSR: Like SSR shown heroes of this movie on a mission. In Reality SSR is on a mission and it is his lifetime ambition. If you observe his previous movies 1)magadheera 2)eega 3)bahubali 4)RRR. he started experimenting, learning, pushing boundaries bettering his skills of film making to achieve his lifetime goal. Now guess what his lifetime mission is: To make a film (dream project) called 🔥🔥Mahabharat 🔥🔥 which will be the best and epic movie of the world, has ever experienced and it will be the greatest movie ever. To achieve this he is working harder and harder in his life. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am from India and i highly appreciated rrr it was something that created a buzz outside of India while being a huge success at home too. Now I would request you to watch a movie called Kantara it's a movie from Karnataka and has people going to watch it in theatres yes in theaters twice and thrice in just one week. It would be impossible to put it in words all i can say is it's an experience that you won't forget.
10:17 Small Correction. India was not a group of tribes but a group of states ruled by their Kings and palaces, forts, soldiers and all. Now tribal chiefs don't live in Palaces, do they!! But still culturally and traditionally India was kind of United.
There are a few shows going on across the US. You can check online for tickets. In fact, there's a SS Rajamouli's movie marathon happening in a few days. You will enjoy it, if you're interested.
Chris is amazing. I can't believe it took this long to stumble across your channel. I've lost almost all interest in film, at least modern film and Chris has such a grounded, knowledgeable response to all your questions.
Ever since one of the theaters near my town has reopened after having gone out of business and being purchased by an Indian family they play just as many Indian films as they do your normal American blockbusters. I make sure to see as many of the Indian films as I can.
@@kirtigupta9753 Not yet, but I’ll have a look at it tomorrow. A terrific new release I saw at the theater last week is “Oke Oka Jeevatham”, a great time-travel movie. I also saw “Vendhu Thanindathu Kaadu”, which is a sort of retelling of “Scarface” taking place in Bombay.
@@annettebist Thanks for the heads-up! I would really like to hear what Chris has to say about Kantara. It is another movie that gives you chills(or even more I'd say) as the 'Portals' scene from Endgame.
I hope this time RRR win at least 1 Oscar in best direction or Public choice or anything that it deserves 💙 It'll be a proud moment and most importantly it'll motivate S.S. Rajamauli ( Writer and director of RRR ) to make more awesome movies in future 🤩 although his every movie is outstanding 👏 💙

Chris, you should watch Kantara which is a one month old movie and making huge waves in India. It will be an out of the world experience for someone like you. Dont miss it in the cinema halls as its a theatrical experience and a TV, even a 100" screen wont make justice to this movie, especially the 20 mins climax which most people righly state that they have not seen in Indian cinema till date.
The way RRR is getting such a tremendous recognition is a very proud thing for every real Indian. Unlike toxic bollywood which disrespects our culture and which follows pseudo secularism, Telugu industry (Tollywood) always shows our culture with full pride and dignity ❤️😃 Telugu film industry is very grounded.
In an Indian historical film Indian culture will be there. I dont think Telugu movie always shows Indian old culture and dressing style. The same Western style dressing and Indian stalking love story and item songs can be seen in most Telugu films too. The difference is bollywood formula was romance ,songs and people lost interest...The goosebump Telugu supernatural action movies is still a trend among Indian viewers so those movies sell. Malayalam and Tamil industries have best movies in India,, they don't have a general formula. There are new experiments stories, lot of varieties, realistic too.
@@mayankindian3750 Of course but Indian movies just imitate Western style dressing and then movies are just Indian style. Dont think Telugu shows Indian culture in most ,,they just lie.
Stop with this Bollywood bashing just because it's trendy. iNdIan cULtuRe, yeahhh sureee let's talk about how women get treated in telugu & tamil movies. You can criticise Bollywood for not being good enough, but never forget the role Bollywood has played in contribution to Indian cinema. Present times are not good, but it'll bounce back. The audience has given enough reality checks to those Bollywood people for them to come back on ground, and know that the audience has the power, not them.
You're the second person that I hear to compared it with Star Wars, and rightfully so. This movie is so amazing on so many levels! I just finished watching it for the first time, and started to search for reviews and videos about it, to see what the people were thinking, and yeah, everyone loves it apparently! Saludos from Chihuahua!
Another correction: It's not just hindi and Telugu movies that dominate Indian film industry. May be from the financial point of view, you are partially right. But if you talk about the quality, there's lots of other players around like Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali movies. You should see some of the classics from these languages and you will realise how little we know about the Indian film industry.

I LOVE RRR.

You should see Pushpa, KGF and Kaithi
Bahubali >>>>> RRR
Definetly baahubali is much better

Chris Gore is single handedly responsible for starting the word of mouth in the US for RRR, including the podcasts, reviews, etc.
He probably helped, but RRR was going to break through to the west no matter what
Very big thanks to Chris for promoting RRR .
The “Load….aim….shoot.” Flashback scene is absolutely amazing.
both from same director,, watch "Magdheera" as well... is also by same director and Ram charan
Yes ☺️🥰😘😃🇮🇳
Thank you, that is interesting to know.
Well said bro...❤
Indian movies are of low quality...mostly over top Masada entertainer it's fact...RRR is nothing infront of Avatar or lord of rings or other top notch films...Even some good European films ...indian movie needs to grow Ling way
Few easter eggs and fun facts of RRR:
1) Both the characters Raju and Bheem were inspired from 2 real indian freedom fighters and revolutionists from indian history, Alluri seeta rama raju from andhra pradesh and Komuram bheem from telangana, ie, from the two telugu speaking states, in history both of them Raju and bheem were from same timeline but never met each other in reality, in original history they both went missing for 4 years during this 1920 time period, no one knows where they went and what they did, but after 4 years they both returned to their villages and fought their own fights and both sacrificed their lives for our country, Director rajamouli hv woven a fictional story that what happens if they met each other, and exchange their ideas and ideologies in the time period they went missing...
The imagination n brilliance of rajamouli sir🔥🔥 Respect👍👍
3) Unlike many other indian movies which involve english actors, in RRR we find the performances of english actors far better, that's because rajamouli approached professionals, the one who played Scott is "Ray Stevenson" one who acted in "Thor" movies, one who played lady Scott is "Alison doody" the lead actress from indiana jones....
"karma is a bitch"🤭🤭🤣
8) near the climax when jr NTR knocks on the floor to find ram who was imprisoned in the ground, he actually knocks the same beats of Nacho Nacho song, so that only ram charan could recognise it's him rather than other possible prisoners, ram charan also reciprocates by knocking the same beat of nacho nacho, even in the earlier scene when ram charam is bit by snake he plays the same beats to communicate with jr NTR, the cinematic brilliance of rajamouli for using a song in so many ways giving easter eggs all the way around is lit🔥🔥🔥 hatsoff to rajamouli 🙏
9) In a scene where they show the security measures of the palace they had 2 doors at entrance, only after closing the 1st door they will open 2nd door, if we observe both the doors clearly and also if we listen to the creek sounds of both doors, we would know the outer door is a wooden one, and the inner door is a metal one, so to rescue malli they can break the outer door but they can't break the inner door, that's the reason y the character jhangu climbs a tree and listens for the 2nd door to open to rescue malli in interval scene...
In that interval sequence they had to imagine animals were there n fight accordingly, for that to happen n so that each n every background artist to be in sync with the CG animals rajamouli employed different tactics while shooting which were not even used in Hollywood movies,
a) for bear they used a person wearing green blanket, since the movement of bear is slow similar to a human being...
b)For shots with tiger, tiger moves much faster than humans, so they can't just place a human with green blanket, so rajamouli positioned laser lights following the head position of the tiger, so that camera man n actors can imagine the position of tiger n act accordingly.
c) for wolves they used dogs which were trained to catch a ball, while shooting the sequence they randomly throw the balls in middle of men, so the dogs chase the balls, in that way rajamouli captured peoples reactions to wolves, later on during CG he replaced the dogs with wolves...
d) for other fast moving animals like deers, they used remote controlled cars moving in between the actors....
💕👍

Some details about the movie Characters and Historical back story:
Alluri Sita Rama Raju, Born in a Andhra Kshatriya family in the West-Godavari (a district of present Indian state Andhra Pradesh on the banks of river "Godavari"), to Alluri Venkata Rama Raju and his wife Suryanarayanamma.
He died fighting the Nizam's of Bhagyanagaram (Present day Hyderabad)
In Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana) everyone knows these things, maybe not in other states.
Jal, Jangal, Jameen.. with translates to Water, Forest & Soil..)
As no one has a clear idea about what happened to them in that period when they left, and what made them become revolutionaries.. the movie writer wrote a Fictional tale of friendship between the two, that they met and became friends and Bheem was the one who gave Rama Raju a Saffron attire and that he got educated himself from Rama Raju, connecting everything that was remembered in telugu people hearts.. if we see carefully, we can see all these details used in some way, in the movie clearly..
Other details :
-Rama Raju is also referred by people as "Manyam Dhora".. which translates to King of the Wild Forests and Komaram Bheem is praised as "Gondu Bebbuli".. which translates to Ferocious Tiger of Gond tribes.
(Current Indian flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya)
-The bike used by Bheem was the older world war version which were designed lightweight for men to lift and carry them when required.

Very informative. Thanks.
You forgot Punjabi bro

They all of them have their distinctive identity of film making style and story telling.

not 100 but 17 film industry

After seeing RRR, I wanted SS Rajamouli to direct, Thor Love and Thunder,
Thor could have been more badass.
Gorr could be terrific, and Action sequences will be creative...
His next movie is Globetrotting Action adventure, Indiana Jones or James bond type but with Indian roots....
SS Rajamouli is arguably most successful Indian Director...🙌
I love ss rajamouli sir ☺️🤗❤️😍😘🥰👌
Of course he turned to Film Courage so Film Threat fans wouldn't get tired of his ranting about RRR on his own channel ;)
(I jest-- thank you, Film Courage, for this interview.)
Lol!
I saw the thumbnail and was, of course, more opportunities to talk about RRR!
RRR is phenomenal! A must see! Chris Gore is awesome, he is sanity in an insane world. Love his channel.
We believe it deserves nominations but we aren't involved with the Oscars in any way.
I don't think it should go to the Oscars just yet. Let's wait for the Oscars to get better first
In face, Even the critics of RRR here in India seem to have completely missed the symbolisms in the movie.
Actually many indians never find that symbolism that's the sad truth... 😑😑😑
ancient historical epics? since when?
Proud to be Indian and also little greedily proud being Telugu too !
Huehuehueh
I cannot remember the last time I have had so much fun watching a movie as RRR
RRR will be releasing in Japan in a couple weeks. I'll have to finally check it out in a theater. (On side note: Top Gun: Maverick is still showing at my preferred theater and it's popular enough that they just did a special double feature with the original movie.)
Where exactly in Japan are you if you don't mind sharing?
@@samuraijosh1595 Kawagoe, Saitama
So did u watch!??
@@pdthinks Unfortunately, no. I suddenly had a work assignment on the only days they were showing it. I've heard, though, that RRR is still showing down in Tokyo and that a colleague of mine has been unable to get a ticket they sell out so fast.
@@blatherama oh that's sad...but still do try...cuz watching it in theatre is actually worth it... you'll love each sec of it...pls do try... you'll love it❤️
I’m almost done Chris’ book on film festivals. Highly recommend it!!
I watched RRR two weeks in a row the first time I saw it. That’s 6 hours of awesome!
@@filmcourage
It's sad when we lose an arthouse cinema. Before the pandemic, someone might have bought it, but now it's too risky.
EEAAO is an indie film with a modest budget of 25 million. Not a big budget studio back film per say so I guess it not really a typical Hollywood.
@@kevinl20082008 I was literally shocked when Russo Brothers name rolled as producers. They really the actuall difference between "CINEMA" and ThEmE pArK
As an Indian ... I love many Hollywood movies.... I love RRR ... I think American need to watch more Indian content... It's highly underrated ✌️🇮🇳🙏🙏🙏
Would love to hear some recommendations.
Hindi also regional lol
@sandeep kumar well yeah but he's not saying hindi is national language atleast learn to understand English lol
I just watched RRR on Netflix. I had never heard of the film before. So refreshing. What a treat!
It was same civilization
Film threat is some of the best movie opinions and dialog out there. Also every one watch RRR. I wish it would get another theatrical release
I hope it is released in the cinemas again will work with houseful theatres
There are a few shows going on across the US. You can check online for tickets. In fact, there's a SS Rajamouli's movie marathon happening in a few days. You will enjoy it, if you're interested.
There is one here in Hollywood that sold out in 25 minutes.
So good to see RRR getting much deserved love ❤❤
Chris is amazing. I can't believe it took this long to stumble across your channel. I've lost almost all interest in film, at least modern film and Chris has such a grounded, knowledgeable response to all your questions.
Oh man hearing this perspective is SO REFRESHING. As a Telugu guy I LOVE to hear opinions and interpretations like these. It's so interesting to hear.
YESSS!! I'm so glad this film is getting the exposure it deserves!

On Tuesday I'm going to see "Love Today", which sounds like it has an excellent premise; a man asks for permission to marry a girl, but before the father will consent he sets the condition that the couple exchange cell phones for 24-hours. That's a brilliant premise!
You're absolutely right. Everybody should watch this movie. I watched it couple of weeks ago and it was just amazing! It made me remember that movies used to be Fun!
I would really like to hear what Chris has to say about Kantara. It is another movie that gives you chills(or even more I'd say) as the 'Portals' scene from Endgame.
I found this channel by an accident but this quickly has become my favourite film channel on TH-cam.
Lot's of love from Tollywood Telugu people's to Chris gore's thank u
I hope this time RRR win at least 1 Oscar in best direction or Public choice or anything that it deserves 💙 It'll be a proud moment and most importantly it'll
motivate S.S. Rajamauli ( Writer and director of RRR ) to make more awesome movies in future 🤩 although his every movie is outstanding 👏 💙
Who cares if it wins an Oscar or not. It has won several fans which is what matters
I love how he said they two are real historical figures......guy has done his research.
loved the details that he observed.loved the analysis.Love from Bharat
Man , the interviewer voice is so soothing , you could say that she must be wonderful , intellectual lady just by her voice . She waited every time to complete Chris gore his statement , not a single time interrupted him . Wow . Love you mam .
Proud to be an Indian 🇮🇳!! Jai hind jai bharat!
The way RRR is getting such a tremendous recognition is a very proud thing for every real Indian. Unlike toxic bollywood which disrespects our culture and which follows pseudo secularism, Telugu industry (Tollywood) always shows our culture with full pride and dignity ❤️😃
Telugu film industry is very grounded.
@@A123-u7z bro there is difference between modernisation and westernization ☺️🙂😊
@@jmab721 kya reality check diya hai siwaye bashing india or indian culture ko Gaali dene or Dawood Ibrahim ki goad me bethne ke 🤬😡
Watched it last night and LOVED IT. Everyone should watch it. Everyone.
Chriss absolute gem
RRR is the greatest movie currently in the WORLD ........ Thanks for all the appreciation around the world for the Telugu/Tollywood Film from INDIA
Easily the best review and analysis of RRR in the whole TH-cam ❤️
Chris gore is a good at these
Absolutely 💯, beautifully explained.
Being a telugu girl ... I felt really happy with what he said but a small correction... not only tollywood and bollywood we have many other languages and industries that he didn't mention!!
