I had very bad experience today 9th November 2023 for visa on arrival. I paid 35 usd visa fee and collected the receipt. When i went to immigration counter, i had submitted my passport, boarding pass, visa payment receipt. They asked return ticket and hotel booking. They immigration officer started asking questions about the purpose of visit, how many days, what i am going to visit. I had tell the itinary exactly to him. He asked about my job. Then he asked my company id card. I didnt carry my company id. I had to show my office teams and official outlook in order to prove that i am working for that particular company. Then he asked to show company website. After doing all these, he told me to pay visa fee. I told him i have paid already and kept my visa payment receipt along with my documents. Then he told he didn't receive my payment receipt. I fought with him almost 30 mins. I insisted am not going to pay again. Finally he found my receipt from down. He already checked there many times. But when i insisted he found. Finally my visa stamped. I believe there is some scam going on. So be careful guys.

I made an error with one number on my VOA online. They made me go to the VOA desk and pay for another Visa. They never miss a trick in Indonesia to get money from a tourist.

It would have been helpful in this video if you explained what documents are actually required. The list you read included "Arrival Information" and "Residence information in Indonesia." But what does that mean? Does that mean they need a copy of your flight into the country? AND a copy of your flight out of the country? And does it mean you need a confirmed hotel booking in advance? And how would you submit these documents if they need them?
From that point of view, simply getting the VOA at the airport would be easier since you don't have to provide a confirmed hotel reservation or anything like that.
I'm also curious what exactly you get when your application is approved. Do they simply send you a PDF document? Do you have to print this out and present a paper copy of this E-VOA when you get to immigration at the airport? Or can you just show it to them on your phone as a QR code or something like that? Or will they already have a record of it on their computers? There are a lot of important details that you left out of your video.
I've also seen some discussion online that it is now also possible to apply for an extension to the E-VOA online. THAT would be a big advantage to getting an E-VOA. It would be so much easier than the current system that requires multiple trips to an immigration office and confusing/contradictory requirements at every office. Some information about getting an E-VOA extension online would also be helpful.

Hi, I agree with you. Honestly, getting VOA at the airport is much easier rather than applying e-VOA, probably the only benefit I could see is you can extend your VOA by online but the process of applying that is so frustrating. I have just tried for the 100x and still failed just because postal code of hotel where I am going to stay isn't valid. It's annoying since I checked it online through PT pos INDONESIA and confirmed to the hotel. Is it actually okay not to put the right address?. Has anyone ever experienced this?. And then, I am traveling from the country which impossible to get a direct flight meanwhile in the application we should submit the flight number. Do I have to put all the flight number?.
More, please to be noted that even you are successfully having e-voa sent in your email, the decision of entry Indonesia is still on the immigration officer at the spot you landed

Is it ok if we dont apply for a eVOA on arrival? I read that this visa is only needed if u wanna extend ur stay time more than a months in Indonesia. Otherwise if u stay less than 30 days u can do so without needing the eVOA.
Because it's electronic so you can apply this before you arrive in Indonesia, if your country is eligible you can apply this evoa, just check on the list
