I love the breakdown of Bali; it's an awesome island to visit. Living in Bali for 15 years has been an incredible experience and has become home. It is a stunning place for all works of life, but it has since developed. ( Only through my eyes can you still experience the beauty and hospitality of the local culture. Treat yourself to a trip to the Numbering islands around i.they realy are awesome,

i remember when Canggu and Ubud was nothing more than just rural villages...the covid, work remotely, digital nomads, and online culture have actually catapulted Bali's tourism.

@@RhettandClaire i used to live in bali back in 2008-2013. Then i came back around 2015-2017 and those areas are still the same. from what i have heard, ever since there was one beach club that was built around Canggu who usually invites A-list celebrities, Canggu changed in one day as many foreign investors began to built a lot of stuff over there right after the end of Covid panic
@@RhettandClaire it's just weird seeing a childhood place that is usually calm and had nothing but farms and resort shaped into a tourist hub so quick.

Is renting a motorbike to travel around the entire region, for example the south east part of the island realistic? We have motorbike experience living in Vietnam, that’s how we get around, I just wondering if instead of relying on taxis and buses it would make sense to ride a motorbike, for example from the airport area to Ubud, and then all the way over to Aman… Thank you

Does your assessment of Kuta include South Kuta (Kuta Selatan)? I'm more of a digital nomad wannabe and I'm wondering what four months in Bali would be like. Nope, I'm not a twenty-something; more of an older nomad.
Can I say that I love to listen to your accent and how you say the various places? You possibly say a couple correctly but it doesn't matter at all! I just love the incorrect pronunciation. It is interesting that you don't suggest Sanur or Candi Dasa. We have stayed in Bali many times over the past 36 years and travelled around the island with family too (as we live in Indonesia most of the time), my preferences are with the quieter places although we have done the whole island and some of the smaller islands too. I am almost amazed at the development of Bali over these years. Some of the locals hate the tourism, although, a good portion of Balinese live off tourism. Over the last 3 years of living in Surabaya and not being able to get to Bali, we have travelled throughout Java more. Trying to find places to stay here (and we go out of Surabaya at least 4 times a year), which are cheap and beautiful - much more difficult than in Bali. And of course the food in Java - healthy food must be cooked rather than bought.
