Don Lemon is probably one of the worst interviewers around. He is a gotcha interviewer and is not interested in actually understanding the person he interviews. I would not waste my time on his show ever.
I was taught growing up to judge people by their actions not by what they look like. I hate to have to say this I am white and 55 I really don’t understand this focus on race or the twisting up of history under the guise of equality.
Poor Don. He can't grasp the concept of having the power to ban something you don't like but NOT exercising that power because it would wreck the concepts of free speech and freedom of expression. Says all you need to know about what people like him would do if they had such power.
@@ThePrisoner881 well said. Hes a just a loaded soldier. Loaded with garbage and if given power would amplify that garbage just like Wikipedia. He would be a little king in his universe. A universe the size of a shoe box.

It always amazes me that there is no professional ethics training or standards in media. Imagine if they had to get certified like engineers, doctors, lawyers etc so people would know they are serious about the job. Instead we get clowns that will say anything to become famous solely for money and fame under the claim of "its free speech".
DEI does not mean lowered standards. I am black and I don’t want to be employed on lower standards. We are the top of our game in most endeavours and I don’t need any one lowering standards for me. That would be tokenism and a complete insult. I hear you Elon.

It's intentional. He's hoping Elon will get angry but he's so much more clever than Don. He can see what sloppy Don is trying to do. Let's moderate Don Lemon's speech because I think it's hate speech.
I have a lot of respect for Elon watching this. He’s like a patient father trying to explain something he’s already explained five times to a four-year-old.
Yep, he was very patient but fired him immediately after. Kept his cool…then took care of the issue. Let me ask this….would you interview your multibillionaire CEO like this and expect a pat on the back? Nope.
he knows where he stands morally and doesn't change it for others, you have to respect that in a child let alone the richest man ever. his biography "Elon Musk" is a must read/listen to!!
I'm sure Elon has 1million more pressing things to do than waste his time with this line of well he seems to be trying to start an argument it's pure nonsense from Lemon ...
My brother in law and my sister are both professors at a university and I know for a fact that they were forced by the administration to lower the standards of exams and that's a fact.
The analogy of the surgeon and lowering standards is precisely the argument I have been making for years!!! Im a female pilot. Im a pilot because I worked my backside off (and continue to do so) to make sure that not only I am as good as my male counterparts, but often exceeded them becoming a prominent instructor and examiner in the industry. Im there because of merit not because of my gender. I would never get on an aeroplane if I knew that someone in the flight deck was there because of DEI. Nor would I expect standards to be lowered because of my gender. In fact, I would be grossly insulted to be given a pilot role because of my gender and not that of my skills, expertise and experience. I 100% agree with Elon Musk.
Anyone can tell that the colour of skin or gender of a person has no meaning to Elon, its all about their abilities and integrity, but Don keeps ignoring this.
What is reality if you use a word like unbelieable to sensationalise your own life. A man being told what to say ,,,,against a man living. What are you trying to point out?
Does anyone remember the United flight from Maui to CA in December of 2022. The pilots almost flew it into the ocean after taking off. NTSB determined it was due to pilot error, flaps were in the wrong position. I don't care what color my pilot is, I just want he/she to be the most qualified person available for the job.
Exactly, and it's the same reason we discriminate against those who don't pay attention, are drug abusers, show a lack of diligence, etc. There are a lot of non-racial/sex traits that factor in as well. It all falls under the umbrella of merit and merit-based selection.
Maybe he himself is a DEI hire. You can see it in his answers if he was really smart and intelligent he would understand all these nuances. How Elon handled this interview with patience is profound.
@@quacker143 If he were, that is. The word "nuance" (nuances, nuanced, etc.) has been ruined for me ever since a pro-choice progressive Christian follower of mine used it to describe abortion on Facebook. 🤦♀
The connection between "DEI is lowering the medical standards" to "so you think minorities are not good as doctors" is honestly buffling, and also indicative of the original question being loaded to specifically drag Elon to that point. It goes by basic logic that if you select doctors exclusively for their academical merits/results/practice you'll get a higher medical standard then if you select them for reasons that have *nothing* to do with the practice (race, gender, orientation). It's honestly incredible he still has people following and supporting his platform.
Sadly this lemon is always going to be a victim! Elon’s not had it easy growing up but he refuses to be a victim! He’s stepped in for the uk because he’s sees just how unjust and corrupt it’s become, and I can’t thank him enough 👏👏🇬🇧🏴

He has his far leftist Marxist agenda, and like all far left Marxists , truth is not on their agenda, their agenda is the agenda. Define ‘hate speech’. Literally _anything_ can be viewed as hateful. The entire concept is a ridiculous excuse for certain individuals to control what others think and say.
He obviously feels comforted by the idea that critics of his opinions are simply stereotyping him as stupid due to his skin complexion. That isn't true of course since most people consider him an idiot mainly because he worked for CNN. Objectively he's actually not as much of an idiot as Whoopi Goldberg of course which is why CNN fired him but kept her on the payroll I suppose. He's certainly not as much of an idiot as Chris Cuomo who only got his job at CNN because he was the brother of a Democratic Governor.
Elon keeps pushing merit, but Don assumes merit=white (an obvious logical error). But what Lemon doesn't think about is where merit FAVORS POC, like any basketball team. Basketball teams are comprised of mostly black players, but that's because of merit. Why are most nannies female? Merit. Why are all MotoGP racers male? Merit. Females are allowed to race with the men, but they can't qualify (except occasionally in Moto3 where they run as backmarkers, or the slowest riders). Merit must carry the day. Lemon is too dishonest to admit that once one veers from 'merit' and prioritizes race/sex, that standards are by-definition being lowered, even if the top performers are POC and women. Elon should have brought up basketball and other sports where merit is the number one metric for selection.
@@spacep0dLoved the MotoGP reference. 2nd race this weekend. There was 1 female a couple years ago in moto3. I believe shes gone. And he expects everyone to agree with his opinion, and not hurt his feelings. He still hasn't learned a thing about journalism. As Elon pointed out to him.
When hiring is done based on skin colour or sexual preferences rather than just competency and talent, the work they are hired for will not be done as good as the best candidate would have done it. Period.
And, what people keep forgetting is that merit ALWAYS favors merit, which could lead to a higher representation of PoC and women. Look at pro basketball/football or HR departments. Would I expect a high percentage of black people in curling? No, because the self-selected group is tiny. In some cases, straight men couldn't get hired if they tried (HR, early child education) due to blatant discrimination.

Elon should have ended this interview as soon as Don started using "moderation" in place of "censorship" pretending to not know they're the same thing.... shame on Lemon
That interview is what cut ties with Don Lemon and why Don is suing. After Don was fired, X was his next gig. Never bite the hand that feeds you, and if you do, don't go and cry when that hand is pulled away.
Don is bought and paid for. he doesn't care or respect Elon , nor does he want a job from him . he know he was not going to have a show funded by Elon after this . he took the opportunity to try to "out him" with this interview and as you can plainly see it backfired on him. it was what he was TOLD to do .
By definition if DEI is the first standard to choose a potential student or for a Physician's position, you potentially take out "the best". and replace it for skin color.
Don is so unbelievably dishonest, that DEI segment floored me because he actually wants us to believe that program isn't causing standards to be lowered. I'm black and I worked incredibly hard to get to where I'm at and proud of it so being even remotely associated with that is a massive insult on so many levels
elon says "IF" the standards are lowered then the probability of medical service quality may also be lowered. then the black guy keep asking him for evidence and data. elon obviously doesn't have any prepared data for this interview, but using basic logic, it applies to all fields, for example, me being an architect cannot design a structural component of a building, i have a knowledge of it but the standard is that a structural or a civil engineer must be in charge of that field because, our curriculum in architecture has a lower standard when it comes to structural math than structural engineers. If architectural design was allowed to be practiced by structural engineers and structural design is allowed to be practiced by architects in the name of inclusivity, the quality of buildings and built environment will suffer tremendously. standards determine quality. is this what you do in america?, ask and repeat a question over and over, seems like a waste of time.
After listening to this I can see why Elon decided to not promote Don by paying him to do a show on X. Don has been subject to a life lesson which I am sure he will not learn from.
I've listened to the Don interview and I was horriefied. Even if Musk was an ordinary man, you'd want to have a heartfelt conversation with him about what is important to him and what his goals and dreams are. Criticism is good for all of us, but I felt uncomfortable throughout his approach. That's not a good interview in the least. I have to agree about the "gotcha" approach!
If I require medical care and visit a doctor, I expect the doctor to be there because of their competence and not because of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. It would make me very uncomfortable if that were the case.

Obviously Don wants to apply his standard on everything. Everything he says is supposed to be facts, therefore, "evidence" shows Don gets to define what's hateful and what will lead to mass murdering.
Im a surgeon. For the last 50 years at least standards have been lower for black and brown people getting into medical school. This is a fact. In 2015 the cato institute found that a black or brown person had a much higher chance of getting into med school with a college gpa of 3.25 or less compared to white applicants. Blacks 9x higher brown 6x higher. In my public med school in the 80s a third to half the blacks accepted had to repeat the furst year. I wish more qualified minorities applied to medical school but the fact is there arent that many so the standards are lowered to let more in. Is that good for patient care? I think the answer is obvious.
Infiltration of mid levels in medicine (NP adn PAs) is the ultimate lowering of standard in medicine. The entire population including most of the medical professionals are being blind sided by it and the population is paying with their lives. For more and more patients, their health and well being are on the hand of a professional with only 2 year of medical education. We now have NPs or PAs treating patients even in the ICU setting or in the emergency room. If anything, lower the standard and give them few more years of trainig before you through them out in the real world. They also must have training something similar to a residency program for physicians before they are allowed to practice. Patients don't know that, someone that just read a few books for 2 year while working as a nurse and with no hands on experience in patient care, are often in charge of their health. In my openion, the lowering of standar for blacks and brown (only brown that get preferrence in admission are Hispanics) may have justificatins becausea they are the ones that really go back to their community to serve their people. How may white doctors have you seen that actually open up practice in exclusively back or hispanic area. Without these doctors, many of the back or hispanic minority population would be highly medically underserved.
You would think it's obvious... This Lemon I believe thinks it's obvious also, but it doesn't fit into his agenda, and we have this brutal interview. Unreal.
Equality of opportunity should be the guideline but equality of outcome must not be enforced or artificially attained. DEI is poisoning the UK via this lowering of standards across the board, as you say.
The same in UK. You even have a specific quotas for entering a University (various degrees), or even in some cases finding a job later on (as a lot of companies have specific quotas to fulfill). It is going to that crazy point, when if you see a doctor you are just wondering if the person is good (and was really working hard), or simply has passed the degree because of some quotas. Yeah, they do exist - even at large Universities in the middle of London.
Here is a quote from Yeshesvini Raman from Duke University “The most important thing we’ve done is, really, systemic changes to our recruitment, to try to recruit diverse residents to our program and then to retain and support those diverse residents… So part of this has involved transitioning to completely holistic review process that we spoke about earlier today - you know, abandoning all sorts of metrics and screens, looking at people’s life story and what brought them into surgery. And the other part of it is increasing the diversity of the people who read the application, because that’s an important component of ensuring that we get diverse residents into our program " In other words , they lowered there standards to keep "Diverse" people in their program .
Black surgeons who are good, qualified don't want to lower standards. they want the patients to look at them with the same confidence, the same trust as they would anyone else, right now people are thinking 'hmmmmm is this a DEI hire?" or is this a qualifications/standards met hire?
Mr. Lemon: the best circumstantial evidence that will support Mr. Musk’s opinion about DEI politics can harm quality of medical is this: ever since Wall Street jobs pay so much better than the almost meager wages earned by medical doctors (compared to the former), and droves of smart people who might want to be M.D. decided not to pursue a career in clinical medicine or medical research, the quality of our doctors and PhDs did go down - that is an indisputable facts over the past few decades ! If not because many researchers from abroad are willing to come here to get a high degree so they can get Green Card and start a life in the U.S. or if ‘foreign medical graduates’ did not flock into our country, we would be in an even more dire shape in terms of research output AND clinical care manpower. You are a fool to not be able to see that trending relationship to know that lowering standards of any thing/profession will inevitably lead to poorer outcomes. Besides, DEI had been around only for few years; it will take longer period of time for this kind of depreciating quality issues to float to the surface. Mr. Lemon is simply a self-appointed ‘expert’ of DEI ideology. He also has no evidence to support his claim that DEI will not harm people’s health and lives. I am a retired physician with 35 years of working experience. Both the residents (clinicians in training) and the attending physicians who train them are getting significantly worse over the past 3 decades, after Hilary Clinton’s failed attempt to nationalize health care, and the frustrations of doctors due to high stress, malpractice insurance fees and ever escalating paperworks and regulation made it harder and harder to want to be a good doctor. DEI will only exacerbate the situation by introducing lower quality candidates into the profession, even as the explosion of medical knowledge and technologies demand higher caliber candidates to learn efficaciously and apply them to treat patients. I think Mr. Lemon erroneously believe that his ideology is superior and thus immune from any inherent potential pitfalls of an non-scientific argument out of social & political intentions won’t do any harm - he has NO evidence to that claim at all, even as he kept bullying Mr. Musk with his arrogant and repetitive questions.
I don't understand why Lemon is being so foolish on this issue. When your Standards are DEI and not best available person regardless of color, you have lowered the standard! When Biden said he is going to appoint a black female for Supreme court he automatically lowered the standard, not because she was a black female, but because he excluded everyone else!!!
Gosh! Don Lemon is so difficult to listen to. And he is just so irrational in using race and inclusivity in his statements and questions. Get's really tiring listening to him!
Yep, he repeated the same answers, to (basically) the same baited questions over and over again. This was an interrogation with Don Lemon the interrogator, attempting to get Musk to trip-up and give an answer that he could use against Musk. It didn't work! Huge fail!
That's one of the tricks that people use so you will come over to their side so if you're not very educated you you go along with there idea! I'm glad that Mr musk is not going to fall for any of their ideas
Just to remember you guys from the circumstance: 1. Musk was trying to help Lemon to work for X giving him an underserving interview. 2. Lemon, OTOH, was pursuing a cancellation-type kind of gotcha interview. I'm glad it all worked up so well, Lemon got exposed and Musk moved on unscathed.
I consider myself a moderate Liberal and I can honestly say, Don Lemon made Elon Musk look good. What a hatchet job this interrogation was. Several times I wanted to reach out and slap Lemon. He wasn't listening to what Musk said. He was just hearing how he could try and twist what Musk was saying. Musk's rapid responses impressed me and made me think about things in a way I hadn't before. Kudos to Musk for not allowing Lemon's type of gotcha journalism on his platform.
But Elon is racist. Proven by courts of laws a few times already. His denial is based on numbers, I e. he pretended not to know, despite all the evidences produced in a court of law. Ignorance is not a defence in a court of law. The fact that racism is proven to exist in Tesla, means that Elon, as the CEO is also racist. As to the excuse that standards are lowered at any place at all, is just speculation. There is a passing standard, and there is ultimate perfectionist standard. Just because you do not achieve the perfection standard, if it ever exists, doesn't mean that standards are lowered. Because standard measurements have errors, so perfection standards are also erroneous. Tesla never made perfect cars. In fact, initially, there were so many errors that many people died. Had Tesla lowered standards? Of course but Tesla just make a practical lowering of standards, to be acceptable to the objective in serving the interests of the community. If the passing standards are too high, there will be less doctors or pilots, so in the end will kill more people. No matter how high the Standard is, lack of doctors and pilots will cause overloads and will certainly lead to more mistakes as what had happened to Elon. Despite Elon not admitting to making mistakes in firing Twitter staff. How can you say it is not a mistake when you immediately want to hire the recently fired staff? Elon only admitted to knowing the dangers of lack of sleep, after numerous experts point out to him. Elon was caught relying on faulty calculations because he relied on public consensus instead of rigorous peer reviewed research. Scientific research is still subject to errors, but were detected in the end because they were published and data still kept. Public consensus is fragile and many denied ever making the inconsistent statements.
"Kudos to Musk for not allowing Lemon's type of gotcha journalism on his platform." Just to be clear, Musk isn't disallowing Lemon's type of gotcha journalism on X. He's just not offering 🍋a contract. 🍋 can still post interviews with whoever he wants on X... he just won't get the benefits he could have had with the contract.
These methods of vigilante journalism have been common and in wide use since November 8, 2016, primarily targeting President Trump. The only difference now is that they have chosen a second primary target named Elon Musk. That's because Elon has taken away Twitter, one of their biggest narrative-control tools. Lemon is not just "failing to listen". He is an accomplished propagandist who knows EXACTLY what he's doing. One of many.
Lemon is not honest, and kept race-baiting Elon with bad logic. Elon didn't take the bait. One thing Elon could have brought up is how merit sometimes favors people of color and women, such as with basketball teams. I don't see 5' white dudes on basketball teams just for "DEI". Merit is the moneymaker with any competitive sports team, and individual sports too. Simone Biles isn't amazing because she's black, it's because she's great at what she does and has the track record to prove her merit. Michael Phelps, he earned his stripes. If DEI is so important, why doesn't this apply to athletes? Obviously, there's a huge issue in allowing trans women to ruin women's sport, but that's another topic.
He's not saying that every DEI hire is unqualified, he's saying that the moment you base hiring on skin color and/or gender the potential for incomitance increases exponentially. How is that not obvious to anybody with a pulse?
Ok... I "Kind of" see your point... BUT. "Citizen Journalism" requires input from citizens with a degree of critical thinking, together with a lack of confirmation bias. . Unfortunately, most "evidence" I see on social media suggests that not to be the case. . Do you think "Citizen Journalism" and "Indoctrination" are mutually exclusive? . Some might suggest that "Citizen Journalism" may trend towards citizens who are "more enthusiastic" regarding a particular subject, who are more likely to express that opinion on line, being read by those with a similar perspective. . If either the group becomes large enough, or one or more citizens posting organise their effort, or an "outside" person, or organisation notes the trend and subtly manipulates the narrative, you have the beginnings of indoctrination. . Ah! You cry! Community notes! . But those notes rely on a diverse and representative cross section of society, and opinion, being present on the forum. . If certain groups were "put off", while others were attracted, you have "a finger on the scale". . Not saying any of the above is fact, but it must be considered.
@@rogerstarkey5390- The hypocritical claims of citizen journalisms superiority over mainstream media really annoy me. They have made anti-science, anti-vax, racism, sexism, and the acceptance of outright lies and crazy conspiracy theories far more mainstream. The problem with mainstream stream media is three fold. Liberal arts majors who don’t understand technical issues, a loss of editorial staff as cost cuts to deal with declining viewership, and an attempt to fight that decline by becoming as much an entertainment form rather than straight news. Citizen journalism suffers from all of these but worse. 0 editorial review, survival of the clickiest and most entertaining. Mainstream media can follow the heard due to risk aversion, but that is far less damaging than intentional spreading lies and making outlandish statements for clicks and shock value. I really valued Tesla TH-camrs until 3-5 years ago for pointing out erroneous info in the mainstream media and their gullible acceptance of FUD from people who had an interest in Tesla failing. There is still FUD out there but less frequent and treated more skeptically by mainstream stream media. With the drop in this righteous draw and a radical increase in objectionable behavior to many of Musk’s former big fans like me, a huge fraction of Tesla TH-camrs have turned to full time excuse making for Musk. They ignore his hypocrisy, betrayal of goals he used to build cachet, and just generally odious and immature behavior. I saw far worse interviews of both Obama and Bush who handled it with fortitude and humor. Musk is just a thinned skinned middle school level whiner. I he is a stereotypical nerd, brilliant but emotionally stunted. There are a lot of similarities between Musk in me in terms of background, interests and approach to engineering and even in how we responded to bullying with one exception. We both learned to keep Bullies at bay by growing bigger and learning to fight but before I did that to eliminate the last 10 to 20% of bullying I grew a think skin to laugh in their faces at insults. That was sufficient all on its own to stop a majority of bullying because bullies pick on people they see as weak both mentally and physically. Ever since high school when I see a bully I want to fight them verbally or physically. I don’t understand why Musk wants to joint the Bully team and falsely claim they are the ones being bullied.
Every time Elon answered, Don tried to reformulate his answer, or ask him again to try and get that single compromising soundbite to go viral with. @@maxpelletier2237 Elon was not challenged. These are the same low-IQ questions that every mainstream journalist points at him and he provides the consistent response each time. Don Lemon with surgical precision demonstrated his already well known bias and stupidity in trying to once again convert falsity into truth. Yep this isn’t a new phenomenon, universities have shifted from training people to industry standards to selling pieces of paper. High standards sell less paper (degrees).

Elon should have brought up basketball and other sports where merit is the number one metric for selection.

elon says "IF" the standards are lowered then the probability of medical service quality may also be lowered.
then the black guy keep asking him for evidence and data.
elon obviously doesn't have any prepared data for this interview, but using basic logic, it applies to all fields, for example, me being an architect cannot design a structural component of a building, i have a knowledge of it but the standard is that a structural or a civil engineer must be in charge of that field because, our curriculum in architecture has a lower standard when it comes to structural math than structural engineers. If architectural design was allowed to be practiced by structural engineers and structural design is allowed to be practiced by architects in the name of inclusivity, the quality of buildings and built environment will suffer tremendously.

Here is a quote from Yeshesvini Raman from Duke University
“The most important thing we’ve done is, really, systemic changes to our recruitment, to try to recruit diverse residents to our program and then to retain and support those diverse residents… So part of this has involved transitioning to completely holistic review process that we spoke about earlier today - you know, abandoning all sorts of metrics and screens, looking at people’s life story and what brought them into surgery. And the other part of it is increasing the diversity of the people who read the application, because that’s an important component of ensuring that we get diverse residents into our program "
In other words , they lowered there standards to keep "Diverse" people in their program .
Black surgeons who are good, qualified don't want to lower standards. they want the patients to look at them with the same confidence, the same trust as they would anyone else, right now people are thinking 'hmmmmm is this a DEI hire?" or is this a qualifications/standards met hire?
This is not an interview. Lemon is just trying to get the answer he wanted, relentlessly.
....and he didn't get it!
When life gives you Lemon, fire him
I agree with Elon! I see Elon living by rules of law and Don wants to live by feelings, in my opinion!
Well said!
Elon showed a ton of patience with this reporter. He repeated the same answers over and over again.
Yep, he repeated the same answers, to (basically) the same baited questions over and over again. This was an interrogation with Don Lemon the interrogator, attempting to get Musk to trip-up and give an answer that he could use against Musk. It didn't work! Huge fail!
Wow, Elon has the patience of a saint. And Don has the intelligence of a sea sponge.
Intelligence and don should never be used in the same paragraph, and I jus did it again.
Don't insult the sea sponge!
Before this show:
Don: please don’t anger with me if I ask you too much aggressive questions.
Elon: of course

I love how Elon is answering politely and truthfully. Those mainstream journalists...
I'm so impressed with Elon's self-control over this interview. I think Don's purposefully being stupid lol
I don’t remember Don speaking out against the censorship of Hunter’s laptop information.

Keep trying, Lemon. Next time, don't bring a limp rubber band to a missile fight. You are WOEFULLY unequipped to go against Musk.
May I use that one, about limp rubber bands in a missile fight ? It's brilliant.
Just to remember you guys from the circumstance:
1. Musk was trying to help Lemon to work for X giving him an underserving interview.
2. Lemon, OTOH, was pursuing a cancellation-type kind of gotcha interview.
I'm glad it all worked up so well, Lemon got exposed and Musk moved on unscathed.
Did elon ever even bring up minorities other than mentioning DEI
The interview should have ended when Elon Musk says he is not going above the law, the interview became redundant.
It was the same gotcha question over and over again. Lemon is not a very intelligent person it seems ....
@@fluff2001 not at all
Cool cool cool 🤣
"Kudos to Musk for not allowing Lemon's type of gotcha journalism on his platform."
Just to be clear, Musk isn't disallowing Lemon's type of gotcha journalism on X.
@@joshiepooh Exactly. Elon abides by his own rules.
He's not saying that every DEI hire is unqualified, he's saying that the moment you base hiring on skin color and/or gender the potential for incomitance increases exponentially. How is that not obvious to anybody with a pulse?
Exactly 💯
@@rockrobful seriously. If I were Elon, I’d say it’s 2+2, we don’t need a study to prove it.
It is obvious.
Ideology always ask for sacrifice.

How good elon handled that interview, don can not be called a journalist after that
This lemon is a personification of why you need citizen journalism instead of indoctrinated media companies.

He should just make a handout at this point with the following points:
"Free speech means saying things which are uncomfortable as long as they do not violate the laws of the country"
"Any initiative which elevates those on the basis of identity will inevitably compromise those who would have been elevated on the basis of merit"
"The X platform will not engage in any moderation beyond the confines of the legal system within a jurisdiction"

I have a friend who flies for Alaska Airlines. According to him, it took 10 years to get his credentials to fly passenger planes for Alaska Airlines.
He was really pissed off one day, because he flew with a copilot the night before who got her credentials in 3 years. The company needed to hire more women and people of color, so they changed their policies to allow select individuals to fly much faster than everyone else that was hired previously. Musk is completely right here… The bar is being lowered so these companies can get DEI tax breaks. It’s all about the $$$ to large corporations unfortunately. Greed outweighing logic.
As a woman who always wanted to be a pilot... That is terrifying. I would not want standards to be lowered for me to reach any goal. I would not feel any pride in my achievement if standards had to be lowered for me to reach them. This is America, where merit speaks louder than any other credential.
