He's got some big shoes to fill playing Maximus. Because Russell Crow, played that part phenomenally. He had that natural gladiator swagger and a fierce presents, he went into beast mode in everyone of his fighting scenes. It's my favorite movie that he's been in. I watch it atleast once or twice a year, it never gets old to me.

This has to be as good as the original. Gladiator is my favorite movie. I even used its story in an essay I wrote in school. To me, it's not just about good graphics and acting. The story line has to be satisfactory.

This is a big surprise I hope it's good as the first one.. I saw the first film by chance, I was just passing by the cinema with my ex-wife and I saw that it was on, I went to see it at the cinema, and then I had to see it more than once and I still see this movie until this days it's a master peace.

Yes, Gladiator had to be one of the best moves ever! I love Ridley Scott ever since he directed Blade Runner. However, I'm at a loss as to how Maximum is alive again since he died in Gladiator I. Does anyone know the plot? The plot has to be STRONG and not just rely on theatrical effects. All the actors in G1 were excellent, at the top of their game. Chris Hemsworth looks to be an ideal Maximus. One of the best scenes of G1 was the opening scene with all the Barbarians and the Romans getting set up for the battle. You knew immediately that the film was going to be epic. Amazing! Here's hoping G2 will be as good.
Maximus isn't in it. This isn't the real trailer. The sequel is about Lucius, the kid in the first movie.

Yeah I hope they don't have cheesy slow motion cut scenes and modern 'rock ish' music like in this trailer. Such poor taste. Like the focus seems to be just to sensationalise down to a caricature, almost comical, rather than on meaning. It's like having a beautiful Michelin main course and a McDonald's ice cream for dessert.
I agree with some on here. I hope they really have made Gladiator 2 to compliment Gladiator. Gladiator was superbly made and the acting was excellent. Gladiator is one of my top 10 movies ever made. Looking forward to seeing Gladiator 2. The battle scene in the trailer. Looked like a battle, where the Romans got their asses waxed. I wish I could remember the name of the battle. It wasn't a good day for the Romans.
Looks like the battle of Teutoburg Forest, but that was in 9AD, so I don't know how that fits with the timeline.
@@mrdeliberate5175 it doesn't fit at all. Teutoburg Forest was during the time of Augustus, the First Emperor of Rome. Gladiator takes place during the reign of Marcus Aurelius, which was over a century later. Pretty sure this isn't a real trailer, but if it is...that scene could just be another battle against Gauls or one of the Brittanic tribes or something similar.

As much as I love Chris Hemsworth(my wife more!!) I really think this movie should stay as an original, why a sequal when the story ended and he ended being with his wife. Strange one for me, but hey will see it as I loved the first with Russell Crowe

Chris Hemsworth anuncio que se retira de la actuacion por problemas de salud serios, por lo tanto no hara peliculas por un buen tiempo. He escuchado que si habra una segunda parte de Gladiador, eso lo dijo Russel Craw pero no sera Hemsworth el protagonista, aun no saben quien sera, y se estan viendo varios guiones, asi que no se sabe todavia la historia. I read recently that the producers of the "Gladiator " said , " We can bring him back " . They know Russel Crowe is perfect for the role and will get greater results , like Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and Robert Downey Junior is Ironman. Noone can replace these Characters.
People always talk about the action scenes in Gladiator but for me as well as the soundtrack from Hans Zimmer, it was also the performances from the classical actors.

There are some films that just need to stand alone. Gladiator and Braveheart are two. It's like Michelangelo coming back to the Sistine Chapel years later and revising what is perfect. Some stories need ONE statement and a period. Anything after pales in comparison and weakens the original argument. While I don't think a sequel wil tarnish the original here, it will be a hollow echo. That movie was a pure masterpiece. There is no more to say to the story. It stands as one of the best movies EVER written, directed, acted, produced.
