Totally agree. Modern film making lacks that “creative frugality”. When you are pushed to put as much value into something because you’re not backed up by a massive SFX/Art/Production team you have to work so close with a small team. When that happens and it works you get this kind of brilliance.
The Lieutenant conveyed the perfect mix of pathos and will to to overcome danger. You know it's a good film when you see believable characters thrown into unbelievable circumstances and you're still with them.

With decent funding this could’ve been a really good movie. The premise the plot, the environment were all wonderfully fresh for the Alien franchise. Stepping away from the Ripley knockoffs was a breath of fresh air. All my criticisms would most likely have been resolved around a longer runtime and an ability to have proper special effects. Very well done.
the only real criticism I have is them having Weyland Yutani Corporation products and facilities in this time period, as within the Aliens mythos WYC didn't exist until 2012 when it was founded. that was really the only thing out of place for it that was a discrepancy aside from the one scene where the commander picked up xeno blood at the start where they forgot it was acid blood for a second during filming, other than that it was a really nice watch with a fresh idea and storyboard, we already know xenomorphs have been around since before even the mayans, so it wouldn't be outlandish to have a film set during WW1 or something or even later/earlier than that. this franchise wouldn't necessarily have to be tethered to distant future settings tbh books and comics give plenty of resources for pre-futurism era encounters.
@@cyanyde4950I only seen the can of corn and it said Weyland, I couldn’t see the Yutani part, where was that? Also, what part did the commander touch the blood? The silhouette and the bayonet on the rifle look beautiful.

Best alien fan film Ive seen so far. Im 63 yrs old so that says something. Whoever made this film did a far above average job. Well done and much luck to your future film making.
As a huge Alien fan i must say that this was absolutely brilliant. A complete twist on the usual scenario and a welcome surprise . This had all the right ingredients for a top notch alien recipe. The setting of WW1 was what we needed along with it being set on earth of course. I could easily watch an extended version of this short . I waa hooked and everything about it including the writing , acting , filming , location and right down to the Alien costumes . I love how it was the Grays that ended up crashing to earth due to the aliens. Honestly, this was sheer genius and puts some of the recent alien movies to shame. A breath of fresh air . I hope you do more . Well done to all involved . I will be watching this one again 👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
It's the little touches that makes this so much better than anything I've seen in the last few years ( I say few...but it's probably a lot more than that). The fact that there was a can of 'Corn Bread' produced by Weyland & (enter another name here...I couldn't read the other name) gave me bloody chills. The Aussies and the Turks were ferocious fighters against each other in WW1. However, they would celebrate Christmas together and then get on with the fighting afterwards on an agreed time. It was a bloody mess, but the respect shown for each side by the other was always there. That's why we Aussies go back to reunite with our Turk mates every year on ANZAC Day. That was a great scene in this wonderful film that showed that you can bond over the shitstorm reigning over you. Dealing with the incomprehensible nightmare that you need to stick together. Thanks guys and gals!
Yeah, that was definitely a Camel Spider😳😬 Out-frackin-standing!! Definitely THE best Alien fan-film. The setting is inspired, the script and dialogue is excellent, awesome acting and fantastic SFX/Costumes. The sound design is also top notch! Everyone involved in this project deserves massive props for their sterling work and obvious love for the source material 🫡
It's a very nice production. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this production. The treatment of the subject, the reflection of the conditions of the period, the communication in the process with the "Turkish soldier" who is seen as the enemy, the description that all of these lands belong to people, and even the Lieutenant's defense against aliens (a "beautiful irony" by claiming the homeland of the Turks in Çanakkale, whose lands they came to invade) "This is my land" His saying "get out", "indicating the world", was a complementary answer to the scene narration at the end of the film, where the light of freedom is reflected and the Turkish soldier and the world are shown with the sunrise. As a 62-year-old Turkish and international person, I would like to thank everyone who contributed and wish you continued success. you are amazing
The acting ability of the actor playing the Turkish soldier is very good, but it is not possible to say the same for his Turkish speaking skills. Unfortunately, he spoke very bad Turkish, even I had difficulty understanding him(i am Türk). But the British soldier who is translating must know Turkish better than me, so he translates it immediately :)). But the movie is very good, congratulations.🤗
It was on the label of the can of corn, too - about 10 minutes in, after they set up the machine gun at the entrance to the tunnel. It's that little attention to detail and little Easter eggs that push thing over the edge from really good into fantastic.
Weyland Corp. seems to be a reference to the mythological Norse and Anglo-Saxon figure Wayland or Weyland the smith (in German he is called Wieland). Resembles somewhat the mythological Greek master craftsman Icarus.

I'm 4 minutes in. This is absolutely beautiful cinematography. So far, down to earth. Gritty. Mood capturing and captivating. Had I the money, I would hire everyone who worked on this to do a short for my own stories. Even the acting so far brings me IN TO the story... Wish this was NOT an Alien Fan Film because it can and SHOULD stand on its own, as an individual movie.
The climax was superb and the characters were amazingly fleshed out for such a short run time. The pay off with the Lieutenant’s story was incredible, fitting and well earned! I honestly think they could have ended it right then and it would’ve been flawless!

Sad when fans of a series can create a superior story to what the studios trowel out--over and over and over and over... Thank you, Kennedyboy Prods.!
Hollywood has not cared about making quality films for a long time.
great job, fan films truly outshine official films these days, the acting was pretty damn good, i was sucked in and nothing took me out of it, and that is so rare these days for me.
This is brilliant! Well done! The Lieutenant was amazing! What a role, super acting. I felt it in my bones.
Absolutely 💯 awesome 👏. I can see where the future of great film makers is coming from. And it’s not hollywood. Absolutely outstanding.
Это Россия и Это было, и это страшно!!! Мы свои земли и людей не бросаем! Все к Богу пойдем! Кто то, кто то пизже -все там будем!! Божий суд!!!
What an amazing film, I am so glad I watched it. Hats off to the team who made this as it is so believable. Regards and please produce another one.
Yes The" Corn Bread" can by Weyland & Co its one of those "SMALL" things that makes this film worth
Such a great homage to the Alien franchise. Give these guys a blockbuster budget and make it a feature film. I'm starving for more
What a fresh and invigorating take on the Alien franchise. Better than most of the Alien films with a much smaller budget. Amazing.
This production company needs a real budget - this is excellent work...
Awesome! The highlight for me was the last stand between the lieutenant and the xenos, with the voice over flashback….chef’s kiss 💋
Outstanding- actors, script, cinematography, direction - an absolute pleasure to watch this. 👍🏽
When Ur fan film better than 6 of the Aliens official movies, well done outstanding work, Xeno suits looks awesome
It's doesn't matter he just pretend?!
Maybe he was a Greek or Armenian Turk. Kamal & the ruling gang of four didn't drive those out or kill them until the 1920's.
The dynamite box saying Wayland &Co. is such a great detail
@@wolfgangkranek376 nod to Weyland Utani Corp, the makers of the Droid Models, Bishops. The nefarious behind the scenes company all the films dealt with.
So Weyland Corp. been into shit since WW I huh?
The knife at the start killing the BUG is another ,it's full of awesome call backs ,all the awesome call backs through there dialect is off the scale ,masterpiece made by fans for us fans ⚔️👽🔥
If only HW had this level of talent...
Very well done, indeed!!!
Someone get these guys a 20 million budget 👏👏👏 this was100x better than anything we’ve seen since Aliens well done
Probably the best short I have ever seen. Pacing was excellent as was the back story. I encourage you to continue with your trade. Very well done. Thank you!
👏👏👏, brilliant, thank you & well done, you guys created excellence here 🫡
Brilliant Alien-Fan-Movie. Great acting. Very well done. You did a very good job. Ridley Scott would’ve been amazed! 🍿🥤🤩👍🏽
NML: "no...lets get out of here. now"
cinema history: "that's illegal!"
He deserved a short film award.
Bravo 👏. Ironic how a ‘low budget’ fan made film is better than 80% of what Hollywood puts out~
LOL
Aussie made??
bro, how is this fan made??? Its like top quality insane budget production film. WOW
Very impressive for a fan film
Give these guys a budget for Full production
This film is amazing it’s a interesting take on alien never thought it was on earth let alone world war 1
This was magnificent!! Everyone involved should be proud of this!!
Even the camera work and dialogue was well done, acting brilliant. A1plus.
YOU GUYS DESERVE AN OSCAR, I haven't seen a alien fanfilm terrify me as much like this in a long time, absolutely peak cinema.
A fanmade film has given us a hero to sit beside Ripley herself. Gripping, and perfect balanced pacing of action and suspense to match Aliens.
The climax was superb and the characters were amazingly fleshed out for such a short run time. The pay off with the Lieutenant’s story was incredible, fitting and well earned! I honestly think they could have ended it right then and it would’ve been flawless!
Stumbled upon this by chance and wow, I’d like to see more Aliens from these guys!
Excellent! A real movie! Believable people, facing crazy unknown times with courage. Put together!
Ridley Scott would be proud 👍🏻🏴
Agreed mate, this was pure off the scale 👌🏴
Who cares, he ran the franchise into the ground.
@@Jayskiallthewayski and these guys have picked it right back up again and put it at the forefront ⚔️💙
Soon be a million views and it will keep flying ,true masterpiece 💙
It makes sense and is somewhat enjoyable so Ridley Scott would hate it.
Magnificent!! This is how you do a film... great story... great characters... and wise use of budget!!!! This is so much better than a lot of stuff put out by studios with obscene budgets (Money for nothing!!)... Love the Weyland nod... The passion for the brand is evident!!! Respect!!!!
I’m always amazed when I see well done fan films; the effort and skill that go into the scripting, acting and production. This film is no exception.
Exceptional production for a micro budget short. Well done to all those involved, especially Christian Kennedy.
Thanks 🙏
This is awesome, if you are not in the Fan Film Directors Awards, you should be.
19:13 this is great! Where's the acid blood though?
20:30 THERE IT IS!
when fans make a film .. excellent - better than Hollywood could now
Bravo, bravo, the best Alien content I have seen in a long time. Why can't Hollywood just give us this instead of "the message". I would just say take my money if we could get something like this on the big screen, but they just give us crap, but the makers of this thunderous applause.
They mostly come out at night.
Mostly.
alabamaman:👍😜
omg that was really good! I really enjoyed this. amazing acting and effects and story. I dont think I blinked
That was excellent. Great acting, writing, cinematography, sound, and everything else. Most impressive. Thanks.
