Don't know why the built in modelling could not be used for professional use? In my ears it sounds great! And could see a great use of it doing wedding gigs, Duo- or Trio Wedding/Party/Top40 Gigs, Lounge Gigs etc - everywhere where "Direct to Mixer/FOH" is required. Just bring your Guitar and you are good to go within 1 Minute setup 👍
Most guitarist are purists and can't stand digital effects on recordings. I'm not really in that boat, but the only digital effects that I think are good enough for recording are Line 6 effects.
this guitar seems to be just perfect for that. you would still need a mixer for iem (or just use the main mix if you can live with that), but it’s absolutely usable for professional live performances. watch the videos of scott uhl, he actually uses the gtrs p800 as his main guitar and he’s a professional full time gigging musician with lots of different projects. i play mainly acoustic guitar, otherwise i would be extremely tempted to sell a guitar and floor modeler to get a gtrs. my only fear is the battery dying over time. this is something i would want to use everyday for years and years and what am i gonna do when eventually the battery won’t last long enough for a working day of busking or gigging.
I’ve been using 3 Variax James Tyler models for several years as a weekly gigging player in multiple cover bands (corporate/wedding and 80s Tribute) with amp modeling. This looks like the next iteration of working guitarist rig
I just received my S800 (red) And I'm programmining all my tones that I'm gonna used during my shows as onemanband så maybe it will works better than my pedalboard witch contains Headrush MX5 , extra compressor , external volume pedal and some other things..... so it will make at least an easy set up not so complicated as my pedalboard and will not take much space on the smal stages that sometimes I'm performing.... I was impressed of the sounds but not so much on the effects witch are not much and the quality of the sound ...well... but with a lot's of tweaking can make it work...I bought the GWF4 pedal from Mooer. Another thing that I like is that the "super knob" let me control the overall volume so that eliminante the need of an external volume pedal. About the frets, yes, they are not so smooth at it should be but that doesn't really bother me at all, so for the time be I will leave it and maybe later I will smooth them. Thanks for the info! Ciao!!!! 😉
Thanks for reviewing this. I have an S800 and agree 100% with your assessment of that combination of modeler and guitar at the price point. I was curious about the P800 based on upgrades to the guitar. It is disappointing that Mooer didn’t upgrade the modeling and app as well for the upgraded product. That’s a big miss in my opinion. I think they are definitely on the right path concept wise. I will say I am impressed by the Bluetooth footswitch functionality at a really affordable price point.
Great video, I actually purchased one after watching this and few other reviews. Great for practicing / improvising with a looper and you can also loop and the drums in the App can also be looped, as the audio is also transmitted via the guitar to the looper - wasn't aware of this. Could you list the patches used in each Jam please?
I agree. Those modeler tones are good for practice sessions, as is the convenience. But they just don't match up with the guitar itself, which really shines when you used the FM9.
I've got this one PRO series and can confirm about premium level. I made 8 sounds I love and could use anywhere. But my concern is how hard and dangerous to change here pickups, I strongly believe the guitar would shine much brighter with set of my favorite DiMarzio Velvet or so ... If anyone did change pickups on this little modeler sucker please share your experience! Thanks ahead.
While I don’t think we’re Nearly there yet, I do think this is the future of guitar fx. Everything built into the instrument or some kind of loaded pickguard, and a wireless foot controller. Guitar goes straight to the board or maybe a separate output to an onstage cab and all other peripherals may eventually be phased out
Hello folks. A really nice guitar. Do you have live experience with this model? Is it suitable for the stage? Which well-known stars play a Mooer 800? Thanks so much. Take care of yourselves. salute
Hi there, thanks a lot for demo, I am looking into nick Johnston signature and this. You might have checked nicks model. For now let’s say only about guitar (built in fx aside ) which one do you recommend? Could you make a comparison video in the future? Much appreciated thank you sir.
If you don't need the modeling stuff ... The Schecter (I have both) is a great choice (I love that brand) ... but the GTRS is a pretty good (and beautiful) instrument on itself as well with high level settings, and that modeling option is quite enjoying, I love it today even though it is not perfect. But the issue with the Mooer would probably be with the modeling side that is going to be obsolete soon ... Software are quite quickly obsolete and they are rarely developed with having in mind to offering too many upgrades/updates as the technology is going and changing really fast ... just think about the smartphones, or the computers, 3 years is often the max even though it can work for years ... Now if you want to have fun, go with the Mooer 😃😉
What's the use of presenting us the tremolo upgrade without even touch it once??!! Please the next time you introduce a product to us make sure you actually use it, thanks in advance
Super impressed with this guitar but that Trichorus sounded weak and one dimensional af. Buy this along with the Eventide Trichorus pedal if going for that sound and it won’t break the bank and you’ll have a killer sound 🙌🤘
I’ve bought chorus pedals back in the days that sounded weaker than this built-in though, so not complaining. Just giving advice to watchers/listeners and still just a personal opinion so it ain’t worth anything 😁🤘
Don't really get your negative feedback in the end in fact. But quite frankly, to my ears, that guitar modeling system seemed pretty good to me ... really bluffing ! Maybe the software UI is not that good, although again I don't find it so "ugly" when seeing it on screen, I know some very well known and successful plugins or multi-effects pedals' software that look like they have been developed over 20 years ago, Amplitube, Bias FX, Helix, just to name a few, they seem that they are from the previous century ... I could add some DAWs' UI that also have that kind of "vintage" look (Reaper, Pro Logic, Ableton Live ...), you know that famous add comparing a Macbook with a windows PC ... 😁 but I trust you on the points you raised like no having access more quickly to specific settings, I guess that could be fixed (I am a software engineer developer since over 30 years, so can say that if they want, they'll fix it...). The guitar specs are quite good for the price and the modeling system, well it fits my expectations ... nope, overall this is a fantastic tool that ... I have ordered last week and got it today, Love IT !!!! 😉
@@LeonTodd so now I have it since two months … and had the time to go around it. I confirm that this is not only a fantastic guitar for the price but it is as well a great modelling system that is bluffing, again at that price range. Had some evenings with friends with it … brought only that guitar and its foot switch I also bought and that goes with the guitar. I won’t use the modelling system for a real (or big) concert for sure (but the guitar yes absolutely), but for having fun with friends or even at a wedding … that’s the perfect tool. I did take my multi effects pedal as a backup in case the guitar battery would stop working but I did not have to use it … great tool and I am quite excited to see the improvements on the next generations … 🤘🤘😉
Unfortunately, the DSP itself sounds like something that would have come out 10-15 years ago. There definitely seems to be some signal degradation in the digital conversion, like with the old digital loopers.

@@jimtheedcguy4313I always tell people to buy line 6 as first amps, they're a lot of fun and very versatile. Either that or vox valvetronix.

The 1 solo its Amazing 😍😍😍 I love It
😍 Style Gilmour
Love your guitar faces. I played the less expensive model and the neck is awesome

The tone on jam 2 combined with the vibe of the backing track gives major Reb Beach “In the Heart of the Young” vibes! Love the video and the guitar!
Love that album so much

There's so many cases where this is going to be very, very useful for a lot of people. Imagine an Axe-Fx built into your Axe!
@@LeonTodd that would be amazing!!
It’s still a great guitar. Like fender isn’t giving none of those features. Even without the modeling.

You rock Leon! All I can say is that if I buy one it won't sound that good... ;-)
Great Lead in Jam 1.... Very Gilmourish in the song vein of Keep Talking....

Nice lower cost unit into modeling guitar, compared to the more expensive line 6 Helix & Variax guitar...
Are the tones you’re using the factory presets?
How do you guys compare this guitar to a mexican Fender (Player Plus)?
Nice "SORROW" jam, sir!
Thankyou!
Faces are amazing
Was Jam 2 a stock sound on the guitar or in the app? It had like so much mid-rangey, buttery goodness to it!
Yeah it was - probably my fave as well!
Well said!!!!!!!🤟
Would be nice to install some neural dsp plugins in that guitar 😅

Interesting. Love the look and sound of the guitar on its own - has definite Suhr vibes to it. Not interested in the modelling stuff 😎
how about doing a video about the w900 also. How much does the P800 weight ?
I'd like to check out - fan frets and built in wireless is kinda neat. I haven't weighted the P800 but it's definitely lighter than my main Strat

I love the idea of a great processor inside the guitar, unfortunately for now its just a okay processor in it.
do u think its worth $150 more for the p800 over the s801?
Stainless frets, locking tuners and the wilkinson trem definitely justify the extra 150 IMO

See you guys think the fame has gotten to his head but it's actually an yng, wie, malm, steen, reference.
Get amongst it yadawgz
The Yng is the way
I was hoping the "Pro" version would be stereo, doesn't sound like it. That's a big minus for me...
Just put a sansamp circuit in to a guitar. That'd be simpler. No app needed.
See the EBMM stingray with a darkglass preamp built in? That would be rad
@@LeonTodd that would be niiiice! Damn bassists always ahead of guitarists
Привет мой друг! Это лучше Fender player Mexico? Спасибо....
Dude put on the trem arm, how do you run a demo like that?
At least pretend you care!

I wish I could buy this guitar without all the modeling crap
