I'm kind of discouraged that a lot of the host plants for the Western Tiger Swallowtail are water-loving species like willows and cottonwood, I am trying out Scouler's willow because I think we really do need some type of willow in our future, for the sake of insects. That was the only one I could find in my research that people say can survive more upland or drier conditions.
