I vlog daily with a Nikon D5100 with a 10-24mm (wide angle lens) and I use a Joby Gorillapod 3K Pro Kit mounting stick. The camera can be heavy to carry when vlogging but you use what you have available to you. I could afford to by a more compact camera but I just really haven't had a good reason to yet. I've had this camera since 2012 and I really love it, it performs well for my videos, I use a Tamon sp af 10-24mm f3.5-4.5 di ii lens compatible with my Nikon D5100. It's a great wide angle lens and once you set the infinity setting it stays in focus and you don't need to have press the button like you are in your video. For audio I use a shotgun mic with a wind sock (TacStar brand).
JUST the video I was looking for although I have a Nikon D3300. It doesn't have an articulating screen but in most cases. I was actually considering buying Sony RX100 Mk 3 too. Thank you for this video.
Had a nikon d5100. Great for pictures but video...nooooooo! The biggest issue is the focus... it's just constantly focusing in and out even when you hold it as still as possible.
Hey 👋🏻 I bought Nikon 5500 and also rod video micro but I couldn’t find the setting to shift battery into my mic .Or Nikon 5500 doesn’t provide that?Really need help 😞
Hi! I would like to know if You found the setting? I have a D550 and also i'm looking for a rode videomicro, but i'm looking information to know if is compatible 🥺
Hi! I love your video! The tips are great and extremely helpful. I am having an issue with the mic where I am hearing the static in my videos. Any advice? ( I have the d5500 and the mic go).
dont blame the tool, blame the workman... someone with a $100USD phone makes awesome photos, other one with $2000USD camera makes a shitty one... know the tool, learn its limitations and use them as your advantage ;)
I like your advice, however, you need to cut out the smacking and sloshing sounds that the saliva in your mouth makes. It's absolutely DISGUSTING! If you make any videos for TH-cam, you should know how important that is. I couldn't watch all of it without feeling a sense of rage that someone with more subscribers than some creators I know who ACTUALLY cut that shit out of their videos still doesn't know how to cut out gross bodily noises from a video. Thanks!

How do I get rid of the red focus square from the live view when recording a streaming video with my d5200 over hdmi?
Nikon makes AF-P lenses that autofocuses quickly and silently. I recommend getting one for vlogging.
Or buy an rx or g7x 💪
Does this autofocus & tracking like canon?

if you need a vlogging camera consider this: th-cam.com/video/IuLfKWku8xw/w-d-xo.html
Great, great video. Thank you so much!!
The Nikon D5500+ has touchscreen focus. FYI.
most dslr touch screens aren't the most usable imo

How to VLOG in public? Here's how: th-cam.com/video/g_0J2YWWC9I/w-d-xo.html
Then why is everyone saying we need the Canon M50?! Everyone’s opinion is different.
everyone is trying to sell you something - work with what you have and start from there
THE WORST THING IS, MIC SLOT AND ROTATE SCREEN IS IN THE SAME PLACE...
dont blame the tool, blame the workman... someone with a $100USD phone makes awesome photos, other one with $2000USD camera makes a shitty one... know the tool, learn its limitations and use them as your advantage ;)
