You should break your channel in two; The game challenge channel which is the Average Joe grinding for games from goodwill and yard sales, then flipping doubles and such at fair market value on eBay. The “gaming whale” or whatever you want to call it that does big deals, storage unit buys, full set collections, etc. The gaming whale can be the What Not guy. I’d watch both, but mixing these together isn’t working. Or if you are just the whale guy now that’s fine, just don’t pretend to be the Average Joe. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all the content.

Honestly is really cool, yeah everything is going to be overpriced on Rick or phoenix’s streams, but you can get some really good deals on there from smaller sellers. I’ve nearly doubled my GameCube collection in the past 3 weeks on that site. I even got a copy of Cubivore for under $400

Buying up some inventory to triple up on Whatnot. Lol - but seriously. Dude could pretty much buy any game at any price and sell on Whatnot for crazy profit.
You’ve honestly lost the realistic feel to your average collector. That’s what WAS fun to watch. Whether a collector is rich or not, everyone can relate to thrifting or grinding on Facebook for a good deal or garage sale finds. Not this. Buying up entire collections, or half, from one person or at one location is fine if you want and “fun”, but not relatable to your average collector. Seems like you’re just buying games without even thinking because of whatnot and TH-cam views.
I actually was thinking at 1st he was doing this as his own personal challenge to build a game collection for WiiU. That this was about him wanting these for his collection as a challenge. Then he was like.."I'm doing this to put them all on Whatnot" Which hey I can understand its about money etc and if people are gonna pay these prices for these games.....all power to them. Its them who decide how much to do etc. But this channel I liked the $10 game deal which was fun to watch. I enjoyed the whole hunt for games for collection and that. Not into this aspect at all.
@@Ecwfan ya it says collecting in the title then I realized after reading the comments its all about the cash should have known but I had hope for a second.... sad.... he even says hes going broke in the video HA
@@videogamessource2473 While its his right to do what he sees fit with games. I do offer people who do speculation like this in watching...to look at the comic book industry. In the early 1990's the speculator boom almost killed that industry. There was people who came in believing they could make tons of money off Valiant , Image etc. And the big blow was books that shouldn't have went for prices had folks paying tons of money. It was a bubble that rose and burst. I'd hate to see it come to video games. Anyone can do what they want with games as they see fit. I don't have an issue with folks placing games on auction sites like Whatnot. I never plan to use it or bid on it. As I posted I miss the old $10 game challenge deal and the collection aspect this channel had. I'd hope we get back to that. I'm just a collector I suppose lol
@@Ecwfan he sold the entire 10 dollar collection on whatnot....there is no going back to it because it was always just a cash grab and not about actual collecting.

I agree that everyone would like content to be more realistic and what not sponsoring all the resellers, taking away from what reselling is hustling to find profit not getting money from a sponsor and taking it to buy stuff to sell on your sponsors website with the money your sponsor gives you
Was great to meet you there Rick! Thanks for the photo op! Also those are my gamecubes at 9:52, they are modded with bluetooth controlled rgb lighting. Didn't have power at the booth to show them off at the expo but I have a short on my channel demonstrating it. Next year they will be lit up at the show!
Used to love retro but he’s losing his essence it used to be about collecting and finding bargains now it’s him spending what ever because he can just sell it on what not .. starting to go down hill
All reseller on TH-cam is payed by What-not, hope this promotion is done soon, is not fun more too see you buying games What-not paying for, there's no risk just payed advertising, but your are not alone, every one needs too make money 🙂🙂
Serious question - could anybody recommend any good game hunting youtubers that don't support Whatnot? It has honestly just about turned me off most of the channels I used to watch.
I haven't been watching this channel long but I can already see the change. The whole time I'm watching this, I'm thinking to myself "he'll flip all this, there's no intent to keep this." Then I saw the What Not ad. I'm gonna pass on this channel but I also don't really blame you for the hustle. Do your thing, Rick.
I picked up the WII U a couple years ago, Xenoblade Chronicles X is a must play for any gamer, it's a shame many won't ever play it since Nintendo hasn't ported it.
Its a good thing to me for having a reason to collect for other systems. Same with my OG xbox. I dont want remastered games that were exclusives to systems. It makes collecting more diverse then just buying every last game on switch.
Like there whole group all support the whatnot stuff and it’s bad from Retro Rick Phoenix Resale and the guy that’s runs the pixel game squad channel all they care about is how they can buy a lot of games and accessories at low low prices because they could afford from all the money there taking from there own fans so they can triple the prices on some that wouldn’t cost as much if it wasn’t sold on whatnot it’s stuff that fans would buy happily if the games were sold on eBay or on Amazon but no they rather buy each game individual so they can sell at ridiculous prices on whatnot some of your loyal fans can’t get a chance to get anything because they getting out bidded on everything it’s sad because there taking advantage of there fans and they don’t care to speak on it cause it’s easy money for them I guess

@@retrorick yeah it was for way too long, now the prices are gonna start going up up up! People realize that this is probably the last console you can complete a collection of and not all games sold well at all!
I think Wii U will be a huge reseller console in a few years. There was 2.8m of them sold and some great games so I reckon they’ll be in demand and rare as time goes on.
Glad to see the Wii U finally get some love, got Book of Unwritten Tales 2 on the wii U underpriced for 25 at my local game store last year (if you know you know)
Brother Rick, thanks for the content! I started watching back in March of 2020 (I believe). In the past I looked forward to your videos, I even subscribed to your channel and joined your Patreon, but recently it seems that your videos are rushed and you're uploading something just to meet the Monday and Thursday schedule we are accustomed to. You don't owe anyone anything, and to my knowledge, no one asked you for anything, but you are not living up to your word in the January Patreon video. Best of luck to you, as I will continue to enjoy retro hunting without the YT personalities.
While the concept of this video is fresh and felt nice, I will say I’m really torn on where the channel has turned to. You went from buying stuff cheap to being your average collector. Yeah you made some deals on some of these but overall you spent $1200 lol. Not realistic to your average person who joined the channel based on your old principles. Plus the whatnot infomercial is getting tiresome.
Here he goes with the whatnot stuff all he cares about he gonna get triple the money he paid for all the games he gonna sell each game for double the money crazy it’s sad tbh not like he’s selling the whole lot for one price smh
I've been a huge fan for a while thanks to Rick I got back into collecting video games, im a dad with a mancave with a monthly budget for video games and ive grown my collection little by little, I mostly collect what I had as a kid or what I played at a friend's when I was a kid, the whatnot selling seems like a joke to me ive bought games on eBay and mercari for WAY less what they go for on whatnot.
So sick of whatnot. It's so forced to be the next big thing and it's trash. Only ones remotely doing well on it are content creators that are paid to support it.
Cool video! I hope you checked for manuals for the games that are supposed to have them! I was waiting in anticipation to see if you were going to find Devil's Third at a good price.
I just came across the video and I don't see the hate..it was fun, I think people are mad cause they can't do it as easy. Which is fine, everyone has access, plus Rick has built his fame to get to this point. The whatnot app, yeah yeah we hear it everywhere but I mean come on. People gotta grind. This was a fun video, and pure entertainment for me. Loved it
@@retrorick Okay, I'll make the challenge a bit easier, only get the heavy hitters, the licensed games (because those can be excellent) and the OGs of the PS2 - sound like a challenge?

@@brianfleury979 Oh yeah I saw that at the end. Early in that series it was fun to watch someone collecting. But yeah at the end the cash grab part for Whatnot is one thing I usually try to not remember. Its like a bad season finale to a show we like lol
I agree that everyone would like content to be more realistic and what not sponsoring all the resellers, taking away from what reselling is hustling to find profit not getting money from a sponsor and taking it to buy stuff to sell on your sponsors website with the money your sponsor gives you
Man’s out here completing side quests 🔥
hahaha, hope you enjoy the vid man!
He’s cheating…events don’t count…find them bad boys on the streets
I'm done. Miss the old show...It's a circus now 🤡. Good luck and ummm....what not.
Mr Wright Way
Me lmao
I haven't been watching this channel long but I can already see the change. The whole time I'm watching this, I'm thinking to myself "he'll flip all this, there's no intent to keep this." Then I saw the What Not ad. I'm gonna pass on this channel but I also don't really blame you for the hustle. Do your thing, Rick.
I picked up the WII U a couple years ago, Xenoblade Chronicles X is a must play for any gamer, it's a shame many won't ever play it since Nintendo hasn't ported it.
amazing game! I love the wii u
Its a good thing to me for having a reason to collect for other systems. Same with my OG xbox. I dont want remastered games that were exclusives to systems. It makes collecting more diverse then just buying every last game on switch.
One of the greatest games ever made.
Every time you go on a huge spree, I know it’s a whatnot video lol
Hey bro love all your stuff and I'm a loyal follower until this what not RIP off! Please reconsider this Resale stuff that kills our retro collectors
Is it just me or does it seem like our great channels are now begging and more a gimmick?
I'm feeling it too, loved nespursuit but even that has become a whatnot obsession and I lost interest....for the community! Yeah right.
I'm not being biased cause I edited this...but this was legit fun to watch 🤭😁
great job on this edit Riff!
Where was the Mexican for my son guy cameo edit? He’s the best!
@@777RL ha thats riffs channel...hes awesome
People really getting into the Wii U these days and it's cool to see content around it again! I love the Wii U and need to get a few more must haves before I can sit back and watch comfortably lol! Another fun video as always, keep it up!
ive always loved the Wii U...crazy how overlooked it is!
I agree! Though the Wii U sold over 13m
Wii U selling more units even after death
Not too often someone other than NES Complex' students tells him he sucks.
they shouldn't, he's the best
Glad to see the Wii U finally get some love, got Book of Unwritten Tales 2 on the wii U underpriced for 25 at my local game store last year (if you know you know)
My game store has the whole set for sale. I’m debating if I should just buy it all in bulk.
Retro rick has put on some pounds, more like rick Ross now lol 😂
Brother Rick, thanks for the content! I started watching back in March of 2020 (I believe). In the past I looked forward to your videos, I even subscribed to your channel and joined your Patreon, but recently it seems that your videos are rushed and you're uploading something just to meet the Monday and Thursday schedule we are accustomed to. You don't owe anyone anything, and to my knowledge, no one asked you for anything, but you are not living up to your word in the January Patreon video. Best of luck to you, as I will continue to enjoy retro hunting without the YT personalities.
That was a fun watch! Phoenix looked jealous…he didn’t think of that! Lol 😂
He did actually except w gamecube and bought every store inventory haha not in a hour tho
This was a fun watch Rick! Video was SUPER fast paced and interesting!!
Man I should have gotten a Wii U when you were last here. 😂
I’m Going To Make A Video, Collection All Wii U Games But Won’t Be In One Day Tho LOL
DONT LISTEN TO HATERS RICK YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!
Fun speed run Rick! Keep up the great work!
The Wii U will become like the GameCube so getting these games now is a good idea.
i totally agree! Also the Wii U is a great console IMO!
Wii U was a good console that was underperformed thanks to bad marketing tactics. Owned one since Christmas 2012
ive always loved the Wii U! Def overlooked!
That was a fun new twist on collecting. I beat that was exhausting though.
This location was hot, never seen so many Wii U games for sale around one sweet spot within walking range!
5:30 you may not need any of Wii U games at that booth but I see something else I'd like there
This is a live action speed run. Love it.
hahaha it felt like that for sure!
Ask Riff if he will pull you around in the cart next time
Could actually see Rick going insane as the time went down and price went up haha
That MeWithoutYou shirt tho! If you know, you know.
Indeed :) I always wear that shirt when I can!
@@MortsGarage MORT!!!!
Mort is my new best friend
@@retrorick "Brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta HUUUG"
nice use of the batman nes music rick
ha thanks my friend...love that game
Happy to help dude great video 🐐🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
So sick of whatnot. It's so forced to be the next big thing and it's trash. Only ones remotely doing well on it are content creators that are paid to support it.
So close, man! I’ve been wanting to get a Wii U! 💙
I have a feeling that took WAY longer than 1 hour! lol
Cool video! I hope you checked for manuals for the games that are supposed to have them! I was waiting in anticipation to see if you were going to find Devil's Third at a good price.
More important to check if he hadn't bought just empty cases 🙄
I just came across the video and I don't see the hate..it was fun, I think people are mad cause they can't do it as easy. Which is fine, everyone has access, plus Rick has built his fame to get to this point.
The whatnot app, yeah yeah we hear it everywhere but I mean come on. People gotta grind.
This was a fun video, and pure entertainment for me. Loved it
Really enjoyed this video! Good hustle out there!
$10 game collecting was fun… this is just throwing money at people. I think I’m out.
This was wild!
I wish I have a Wii u
No wonder I couldn't find any wii u games at socal.
Cool vid would love a full collection on a console
Retro, you've condensed my entire last 2 months into 1 hour
dont feel to,pmbad, what he is doing isnt collecting
Don’t feel to bad, what he is doing is not collecting
I'm still missing just one more which is Devil's Third to complete U.S Wii u.
oh nice! That one is sooooo dang expensive now...good luck completing the Wii Set!
Hey! Awesome meeting you thanks for stopping bu Retro Guerrilla booth! It was a privilege and honor to sell you some games
Sending positive vibes your way. Keep up the great content!
"No Wii U games?! YOU SUCK!" 😂
This was pretty cool and very entertaining! Good luck finishing the Wii U collection
All he’s doing is selling it on whatnot. Not even keeping it as a collection. Would have been cool if he’s doing it for a personal collection. But no.
That was a blast!
That reminds me - I need to secure my sealed Devil's Third. I already have a dented Axiom Verge
dude for real...cant believe how much that game has went up!
Not bad half the collection great video
Ayo, Rick out here collecting sets, what about us PS2 fans! 👀
that ps2 set is FAT...dont think that will ever be a possibility ha
@@retrorick Okay, I'll make the challenge a bit easier, only get the heavy hitters, the licensed games (because those can be excellent) and the OGs of the PS2 - sound like a challenge?
Wii U is a Great console. I'm looking for a good amount of Wii and Wii U games. Very fun video
love love the wii u...def need to be collecting these games now!
fun and awesome concept Rick! Cool seeing the video!
Great one Rick. I bet you missed donkey kong in the last booth
See John Riggs in the background at the start of this video.
Not looking at his happiness.
I gotta challenge, in a weeks time, complete the US PlayStation 2 set.
haha will never happen...just too many in the set!
8:03 Hey that's Gamester81 on that booth :D
Love it you should do these more often
i plan to...i loved how this one came out...plus i love the Wii U!
But you love the profit more I guess 🤭.
this is not a flea market!
definitely not a flea market in any way
Holy crap in the background of the first booth is Johnny Riggs, conventions sure are a small world for video game youtubers.
What a crazy challenge. I thought it was a really cool concept. Absolutey mind blowing for someone from Aussie. Theres noway to attempt anything like this here 👍🍻🤙
good luck finding black ops 2 and ghosts for wii u the nintendo versions of call of duty games are always rare to find in the wild i would know because i'm stull trying to find bo1 for the wii
there are actually a couple hard to find wii u games that i was surprised about in terms of rarity
That one guy had a Mewithoutyou shirt on. Loved their early music.
Now it all makes sense watching the video lol thanks again man
Must’ve sucked for all the people at that expo looking to get some Wii U games for their collection lol
Just casually gets Turbo for 25 bucks what! How did that happen
Best of luck collecting your set and especially trying to find a cheap copy of Devils Third. I think I got my copy about four years ago for $40 at GameStop and people laughed at the price I paid. Considering what that game goes for now, I made out like a bandit.
hes not collecting these , hes buying them with sponser money to sell them on what not ...
I hear ya. I paid $75 CIB a few years ago. Really hurt the wallet at the time, especially since the game gets poor reviews. Glad I have the game now.
I’m gonna say you didn’t make it but I’m gonna watch and see haha
haha we did our best!
I’m currently collecting for the Wii U check out the page brotha lmk what you think
He only gets these deals because he’s so likable
Great video. More of this please!
thank you so much Greg! Loved making this video!
That was a great haul!! I hope you collect all of those games!! This is one funny video right there!!!
lol this was great. Rick looked exhausted by the end. I loved the little wagon you had to wheel all the games around. I just picked up Sonic Lost world and Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics too ha
How did Rick do anything offensive? This video was awesome I'd like to take 1k and hustle like that looked fun! I feel like alot of people in this comment section would do the exact same thing if they were in his shoes. That being said good stuff Rick enjoyed the channel the past 2 years keep it up dude!
