Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump down here in the comments and say a HUGE THANK YOU to the Subscribers I’ve picked up lately and for getting one of my videos nearly to 100k views!! That’s insane! Y’all are the best.
I totally skipped out on the Wii U when it came out. This is coming from a guy who’s owned every Nintendo home console dating back to the NES. What’s even stranger is that I actually loved the Wii. But then the pandemic happened and I started needing projects to get into. I stumbled onto videos about modding Wii U’s and I was hooked. I now own three Wii U’s and LOVE the system. It really is the all in one console.
Without a doubt! It’s a good thing you have a few cause the price for those are going to continue to rise. I’ve watched the demand for them just inflate like crazy since the pandemic started.
Years later and it's still my all-time favorite Nintendo console. I mean, yeah there were some problems with the system that I wish Nintendo would've addressed, but the good things that the Wii U did completely overshadows the bad in my mind.
Honestly if the Wii U lived longer, didn’t happen when other consoles came out and was marketed better, I think the Wii U would have sold very well. Most of the games on Wii U are on switch now so I guess there’s that but it’s odd because somehow the Wii sold better than the Wii U despite being able to play Wii games.
I bought one mid pandemic on a great deal on eBay with 8 games and two controllers one was third party. €120 I paid for it and I ended up loving the system and still switch between this and my series s these days. Have over 25 games for the wii u now and it’s only going up in value now is the time to collect for it. Cheers
Bought mine on Goodwill with a controller for 99 in overall good condition and required some basic cleaning and fresh battery swap. Taking into account that they sell single controllers on ebay for 70-80$, that was a great deal. I now have a guilty pleasure of Deus Ex HR, since this version is the most unstable in case of framerates, it brings a unique experience of putting your interface and map on the gamepad. Man, I wish modern console vendors had more balls to bring something unique like Nin did it with Wii and WiiU.
Yea that’s a really good price for a Wii U, especially if it was recent because I see them being sold for a lot more now. And yea, I’m with you. I’ve always admired Nintendo not being afraid to take risks and go for something unique and innovative instead of always playing it safe.
@@goldcoinmountain yep, it was a recent purchase. Guess it was a turkey burn catch, since a lot of folks get rid of their electronics before Black Friday. Also purchased a couple of Wii motes and opening the world of Wii games too, since I've never touched this console before. It's indeed a safe haven for those who got tired of modern AAA stuff and want to try the og classics that still looks decent and plays differently.
Great video!!! I recently just hooked up my wii u to play zelda twilight princess!!! Hopefully both twilight princess and Windwaker come to switch soon!!
Thank you! Appreciate you watching the video. I’m also currently playing Twilight Princess HD right now. I somehow never got around to playing it back in the day. Only about 5 hours in but I’m loving it!

Good thing I got one when I did. I wasnt super into it but at the time I got it I had moved an had no consoles on me so I was bored an chose to get one. didnt appreciate it as much back then as I do now though. The fact that it plays wii, wiiu and a buuuunch of virtual console games. And free internet. It is an amazing console. Switch may be more successful and also good but it is not perfect cuz as always nintendo took steps foward but also a bunch of steps back .Tbh I think wiiu could have succeeded with just a different name an I had no problem with the game pad as long as the game didnt heavily rely on it. Recently I just been buying a bunch of VC games before it's to late.
Love my Wii U got it in 2018, 20 physical games since then a Switch in 2021 Christmas. For me it was a 'get into Nintendo more console' where the Wii/DS I didn't play much and a case of the gyro motion controls (besides Sixaxis which I didn't use much but do now)/dual screens where I didn't think much of it on the DS/assymetrical multiplayer before Evolve and more did it. Alongside the Virtual Console and systems I obviously never played before as I only ever used a Wii/DS and barely the online aspects of them being I got Zelda Four Swords Anniversary for my DSi and that's about it. Didn't have any online capable titles I think either. To me it's the console I got to fill in a gap for motion controls, consoles I missed as never knew they existed until researching, have a niche console I was easily able to pick up (same with the Vita, seen 3 Vitas go through retro game stores, many PSPs and DSs, I think a few Wiis but only 1 Wii U and the employees going 'you have a Wii U' when I go to the Wii U section of games because they can't sell them so I won't deny that but compared to a Dreamcast, Saturn or otherwise I found because they are still newer consoles they are easy enough to find at least in my area and no eBay looking online either just whatever passes through my local stores) to collect for and because the Switch was expensive and didn't have much I wanted yet. I haven't regret my Wii U purchase at all. To me it's the best all in one revolutionary console while the Switch is cool it's do many steps back. At least it can do 4 player split screen on a handheld, detachable Joycons/many ways to play like the Wii and Wii U but it's just a PSP with Wiimotes with an upscaler dock and to me while that's fine it doesn't have the Wii U charm. Same with the Vita even besides remote play being improved from the PSP's and while not cable to the TV like 2000 models or whatever the PSP Go dock does (and Dualshock 3 support) it's touchpads are really nice and I find it better there than the Dualshock 4 where Gal Gun tests my skills using it in boss fights than any other game where it's a big button to replace Select what a great waste of technology for 1% of games sigh (besides Killzone Shadow Fall's controlling the robot, Nier Automata's half inventory half map which was super useful (but Platinum uses features well on Wii U/PS4, no clue about Switch games as don't own Astral Chain or Bayonetta on Switch) the skip function in the DVD/Bluray media player allowing swipes or Last Of Us Part 2's guitar minigame). Besides it's solid games. I don't care for the western third parties anyway so the last of the variety IPs Don't offered as I don't cared for their current titles being playable movies it was the Japanese/Indie console machine I am happy with. The Switch also taking place of for current consoles of both the Wii U/Vita for games and gimmicks I like. But anyway. Love the Wii U. It's the most out there idea they wanted to do and no pulls back like the Switch to simplify the idea because no one wants dual screens they wanted whatever before smart phone stuff on the DS because great, thanks casuals and a simple system on the go or stays at their TV. But I love having a map/inventory ready or a minigame to play before Splatoon multiplayer/selecting places on the map to go. People are normalised by phones doing everything but to me the normalisation of the Wii U isn't there because I'm always impressed with it the same way I am games from 20 years ago with experimental ideas than games now being about making them for wider audiences and having to search for those experimental games these days by the handful of Devs that still offer that in the west (not counting smaller Indies but counting the higher budget Indies with 20 pro developers that split off to AA publishers) and what Japan is willing to offer in the AA space. It may have been their second worst console sales wise, but it's games are solid and it's my favourite Nintendo console and there isn't anything as ambitious as it that they have made I think as recent at least anyway.
I think I will have a good chance to be able to get the Nintendo Wii U in 2022 holiday season and the game is so much fun for me and the whole family is the new game from the year 2013 and also the game that is the new game and it is also the game from the year 2013 is a party game and the sports game from the original game is Wii Party U and Wii Sports Club is the best Games it was when the original Wii was released in back from 2006 but now it is a High Definition Gaming System with HDMI Port was a first time I even ever had the HDMI On the Wii U Systems.
I don’t think it’s gonna blow you away with how it looks. It’s an upgrade for sure because its native HDMI, but I wouldn’t expect anything crazy. The uptick in visual quality plus being able to play Wii U games together is an awesome combination
