    Hahaha...good stuff at the end! Nice little comparison...the 261 is like 'the' firewood saw for sure...at least that's what I've heard. My allegiance lies with another model....LOL 😀 👍 🍻

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I totally understand your allegiance, and rightfully so. The 261 is probably the best power to weight ratio saw made, but definitely not enough power for some of that big wood you get.

    There’s a lot of untapped potential in the old 026 saws. A simple muffler mod wakes them up pretty decent. Add some mild porting and advance the ignition timing a little and it will out cut a 261. All great saws though.

    I really enjoy your videos. I have the 261 also, it's a great saw. Looking to move up in size. A local dealer suggested the 661 because I mentioned using it as a chainsaw mill on the occasional tree. Man, talk about a hefty price tag! Keep those videos coming! 👍

    Do you remember what type of wood you guys cut up in this video? Especially the larger rounds on the right side of the screen when you’re leaning up against the trailer full of logs? Is that sap in the logs creating that dark look in the logs?

    just curious.. do you ever put paint marks on your cutting bar so you can just flip the saw sideways to put the tip at your cutting length. like a ruler on the side of the cutting bar.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not, I've always just cut whatever length in the past due to burning in big fire pits. Length was never a concern. Now that I am starting to sell firewood, I'm using the Mingo paint marker for precise measuring. I'll be showing it off again next week.

  • @lennywallace540
    @lennywallace540 ปีที่แล้ว

    Curious why the m tronic when you can still get an old school carb, shave the limiters off the jets then have complete and total adjustment.
    I would bet a LOT that the chipped saws run slightly lean to meet emissions, as does the standard carb until you get rid of the limiter tab.
    In theory, I would think running a little bit in the fatter side would give you more longevity. If not, at least you wouldn't have to bring to an authorized dealer to be plugged in like a car if you're having issues and the reset doesn't fix whatever's going on.
    IDK why I'm even saying this ha ha... I guess I'm just really curious because I literally would not but a chainsaw, dirt bike, snowmobile, anything 2 smoker without full access to carb adjustability.
