For anyone thinking of trying this at home: be aware that the oiling system will not supply enough bar oil at this length. If you want to try this you need to swap in a different oiler. However the oil tank won’t be large enough to keep up with the consumption rate if you usually wait until the gas tank is empty to refill your oil.

i did the fish gills with a dremel. you can definitely notice a change. its an awesome little ripper. love my 261

@@joewearsadroolbib7347 using a dremel and a thin cutoff wheel. make 3 small cuts about 3/4 in long.and bend the fins out.
One of the best examples of an ms260/261 pulling a long bar I have seen on utube. I run a standard 3/8 25” stihl bar on my ported and piped clone 260 and she will keep up with a stock 390 all day in oak, ash, and hickory. A good port job and some muff work. Will make a 260 dangerous you have to put a 20 or better on it and plus light saw with a longer bar makes it easy on ones back.

Well it works I would put it that long bar on an MS391. I have a 28 bar on my XP390 husky It would probably handle a 32 no problem 90CC

I'm not convinced the solder will hold up to that level of vibration. I assume that's why most muff mods are welded. I also am curious as to how that thing oils?
It is brazed, like a lot of factory mufflers, including all 365/372's

With deflector, it is not much louder...
@@poparamiro thanks again for the video. It was the main reason I tried the mod myself and I am really happy with the results... about 14% faster with same bar and chain.
Although i might have gone a tiny bit too far and lost some low end torgue... a bit try and error, lessons learned for next mod 😂
I did a similar mod for my 20 inch bar and I saw a difference I’m go up a size or so in bar now I’m seeing way faster cuts make sure you return the mtronic system after the mod

Wow! I won't even run a 24" B&C on my 261. A 32" B&C is amazing. I am assuming you modded the oiler to properly oil this length B&C.

He bypassed the spark arrester so sparks can and will come out of the muffler sometimes now.
But without the mod, the spark arrester screen keeps sparks from shooting out like that.

If you use stihl 63 PS 3/8 chain it would probably cut even faster
Super prezentare aicea poate să vadă tot omu ce vrea să cumpere de la stihl până la husqvarna dacă au nelămuriri sau dubi se uită si văd ce pot fiecare în parte şi după se hotărăsc ce să cumpere mulţumim frumos şi am încheiat.

e esse grande duelo deste jeito é que termina na briga das ferramentas o machado é que domina motosserra parou cedo ali no tronco da quina machado seguiu cortando mata grossa e mata fina motosserra impotente rebentou sua corrente acabou a gasolina
que isto sirva de exemplo para toda humanidade e você que é tão jovem tem que saber a verdade respeite bem os mais velhos não brinque com sua idade uma pessoa idosa também tem utilidade é um diamante valioso se não tivesse o idoso não teria mocidade
